Nah. I was browsing the web looking for songs to play and came across this song. But as much as I like this song (and the game) it isn't something that'd I'd play. Maybe another song this game or something. I do love the soundtrack. So much nostalgia!

+Cesar Martans Boy, the things I would do to just live those few years of my childhood moment by moment again. I'll never forget those days, and I'm not saying this just for Runescape (mostly yes), but all things early 2000s in general. I didn't mind that I was utterly clueless as to how the game worked, or that I died so frequently, because upon death, I am always welcomed by the soothing beautiful track that is this BGM.
Naah man I was walking the whole way around to don't pay 10 coins. Crossing the scorpions from above. There was no rest at that time so it took me 5 minutes.
I Just want to say thank you to everyone in the comments. I literally spent almost an hour listening to this song on repeat and enjoying your stories. Really can’t get any better than the memories we all had. Anyone remember the rainbow boots tho!! I rocked those every time I got on lmao
shut up what is wrong with you bro literally get a job how is your time so void of value that you have an hour to listen to the same song on repeat and read youtube comments
When i was like 12 i got ranger boots from a clue scroll in 2007, I had no idea they were one of the most valuable items in the entire game at the time. I was dirt poor and always wishing to be rich on the game. I traded the boots to some guy for a dragon dagger I couldnt even wield yet lol. It was like giving away a winning lottery ticket for nothing. When I told my older brother he got super mad at me. I remember the guy I traded it too was so happy and I was just clueless why. A fun memory.
This game taught me: Real life skills English at it's finest The name of thousands of monsters and beasts The name of many materials how to cook, fish and make fire How to not be awkward How to make friends And lastly how to scam people
i learned most of the english language just from this game. then everyone in class asked me how do i keep getting A+ on all english tests which i replied to with one word: runescape. :D
i only have one memory of struggling to comprehend english, and it was some quest description telling me where to find the varrock wizard i must have become fluent so hecking quick, it might have taken me 4-5 years before i was reading the entirety of hitchikers guide no problem, kids learn so darned fast when you drop them into english environments like runescape
I once had a girlfriend in Runescape named Kate, we used to hang a lot, she used to go and talk to the other guys and trick them to give her items and then she would come and share with me. Damn, I miss Katey.
jeroen blom I've been playing since 2006, i never experienced classic but RS2 was quite fun aswell. Now, it is packed with tons of more content that any new player would rather choose over 07 Runescape. But I know that feel too. It was very community oriented back then
Ughh I want to go back to the good old nooby runescape times.. scared as shit to explore the wildy, I alwaya took 3 items to explore the wildy while crapping my pants.. playing this game for 7+ hours a day.. good times, now Im almost turning 17 This game still has a place in my heart forever!
venichen1 The fact that I know almost everything about the game doesn't make it nostalgic anymore. It took me 3 days to complete tut island when I started RS.
Then, after you sold all the goblin mails you had, you had to do the Goblin Mails coloring quest, and go hunting after all those things all over again.
Days when hitting 7's with a scimmi was an accomplishment, seeing players training at spiders, goblins and just being amazed at the community, proud I made it to see that in 2007, the no xp waste and efficiency training was fun, but can't beat the classic
I'll always remember mining in Al Kharid before I was a high enough level to avoid the scorpions, and being amazed at someone hitting 9s with an addy 2h
Man, I stayed in lumby castle for like the first 3 days of my account's existence. Then I followed someone to ask him a question and he led me across the river (toward the Al Kharid gate) before I could react. I was hopelessly lost for over a week.
I'm happy and sad when I hear this . I'm now 30years old but when I hear this I just feel like I'm 15years old again with all the friends I used to had
@@Dan4096 Same age aswell, but i picked it up again 3 day ago. It feels good to be back for now, even now that my old account is on rs3, takes some time to adjust but it takes me back.
This soundtrack always made me sad. Even when I just started playing the game so many years ago, with absolutely no nostalgia involved, it still made me sad. But in a happy way.
Thane Soren This track has so much power, so much emotion, behind it. I strongly believe that the first 28 seconds of this song is the most beautiful piece of music I've ever heard. And that's not just because of my massive bias towards RuneScape. It's simply an amazing track.
2005... Chopping your very first tree next to the giant castle... Fighting your very first lvl 2 goblin... Asking for free items from high lvl players... Telling Hans you are going to kill everyone... Asking others how to put on goblin armor... Running away from the highway man not far from Draynor Village... Killing chickens in the near-by farm... Asking for 10gp from players to pass the Al-Kharid gate... Finding out later that you could of just walked around the damn fence... The golden days of Runescape that ME & im sure the rest of you will never forget...
+Malcolm Ness Granger lol I was somewhat smart as a 12 year old. First I looked to the right to see if there was any other way into the desert, then I followed the fence passed the cow field and went all the way around and was like "what a rip off." I then started tell players that the guards were scammers l0l.
On a cold October night in 2006 playing on my windows XP computer with dial up, in my plaid pajamas casting earth strike on a goblin in an absolute trance.
I remember, killing goblins across the river... trying to equip a goblin mail... still wearing steel armour at combat level 40... begging for 10gp for that damn gate.... that special moment when a goblin dropped a steel full helm for the first time... people asking for girlfriends... player weddings at Lumbridge Chapel... Hans still panicking because you would kill everyone... the sound of people spinning flax in the castle... people begging for law runes to Varrock because they were too lazy to walk... hearing this song again after you had died in the wilderness... NOSTALGIA
Runescape is a big part of my childhood, i played it all day everyday, and i really wish i could go back to the good old days just sit there playing without a single care, the music is so nostalgic. However i dont think i can ever enjoy Runescape the same way i used to, i know there's an oldschool Rs server and all but it just doesnt feel the same way it used to, which is sad, i had so much fun
Yeah me too, when i was 7 i started playin rs, I loved it. It was huge part of my childhood. All my friends played it too. If i now try play rs its not even close same :( nostalgic
That old school runescape put up by Fagex isn't even the same Runescape we all played back in 2006-2007. They changed a lot of things, feels very wrong.
I remember I met this random girl in Falador when I was just starting (i was probably 10 or 11), she led me to an upstairs building and made me headbang behind her while she bowed. Best day of my life... She never added me back ;(
My top-10 favorite RuneScape childhood memories Buying fire 1k fishing lvls?? flash2:wave:selling lobsters 300gp each w00t gratz Oh dear, you're dead. You accidentally burn the lobster. Trimming armour 10k My main is cb 126 duel me noob Cast High Level Alchemy -> Yew Longbow
No matter what amazing games I play in the future, with beautiful graphics and amazing detailed stories, I will never forget my first PC gaming experience; from killing goblins in Lumbridge, to running terrified through the Wilderness, to finally slaying a dragon. Runescape will forever hold a special place in my heart.
Love to u all, we are a great generation. Build upon the good old rs days, remember embrace the good old days and go fur wards. But Dont lose touch with the child in you. That child like awe, wonder and enthusiasm can still be accessed, its not gone. We still all have "god", "love", "ego less mind“ whatever you want to call it within us. A mind without judgment and labeling, that mind that logged in for the first time so many years ago. Be conscious about it, feel your senses when listening to osrs music and enjoy the moment fully, Peace y'all ✌️
Wow, it's really beautiful to see someone who enjoys this in a spiritual way. This game is a symbol of our inner childs. Thank you for reminding all of that. And hope to see you in osrs, and bless for your life
I remember coming home from elementary school having this as the only thing I looked forward to, whether it was what skill I would level, how much GP I would make, the house parties on world 31 that I would go to especially after getting my first membership, etc. Having little social interaction and few friends, runescape was my best friend. Now grown up and graduated, i've tried to get back into it, but the mystique and wanderlust of playing runescape as a child can no longer be replicated. I'm sure just like the rest of you, there were different aspirations and more important things that came up in my life to deal with, so I gradually stopped playing. Now looking back at it, I never realized how pivotal of a role runescape had in my childhood until I grew old enough to view it from a different perspective. It somewhat messes with you on an emotional spectrum too, and the music in this game does a fine job in making you reminisce. But one thing is clear..Runescape remains in my heart.
Cheers Everyone. We may never pk at the castle again, we may never get drunk off beer again in the varrok pub, and we may not have the community we had before EoC, but we got to live the glory days and it will stay with us forever. Memories of our youth.. Flash1:wave:RIP Runescape. You walked into a death dot and lost everything u had.
That actually makde me ycry..I remmeber going deep wild with some friends to kill that red demon in f2p hoping for a big drop but there was never a big drop lol.. Or doing the train starting at lumbridge with 3people ending at fucking falador with 50people omygod those dayz.. But tommorow is f2p coming online on rs2007 lets all go online and try to relive our childhood God bless this game..
Oh God. I remember going as an addy (adamant) noob to Clan Wars, which used to be in the Wilderness. The whole trip, along with another for some defense against the monsters on the way, gosh. And then using Auto-typer to advertise for people to join the clan, and then leaving it and instead just typing the same messages again and again. All the people who would gather together, all the typers who would compete for recruits, and who would be trying to increase their ranks :P And now Clan Wars is dead. That hurts... R.I.P Clan Wars, and R.I.P to the community that existed before EOC, but is gone now. (I wouldn't really have anything against EOC but since it seems like EOC has lead to the community becoming so dimished... yeah...) PS. I realize EOC and the Wildy update that made it completely PVP are different but yeah...
Angel Santoyo Fuck RuneScape, IDK why Im here, I guess Im just a noob at RO nao, but hey, we feel the same thing, RO is dead, now shit crap like Tera or any of those BS came.
Can't say that I've ever played Runescape before. I just think the ost is beautiful. I come here every now and again to listing to this theme in particular.
i first played rsclassic in 2003 and it was fascinating. i remember back then with my older mates who first introduced me to the game, when we were talking about "that new rs" and how weird it was at first. i was the first one to migrate to rs2 tho and it was fucking awesome. remember shit ton of bugs etc. ah.. the good ole days
I guess we are very lucky to have experienced OSRS in our childhoods, this was one of the simplest MMOs of its time and still is the most beloved by its fanbase, you never see a comment bashing it, only people holding it near and dear to their hearts. This is why games should be considered art, such a simple game, yet so many lives made better by it and good memories created.
You might hate noobs when you are playing this game, but this song makes you wanna miss the noobs (including you as a noob) and their noobiness haha. Nostalgia...
I still remember showing my cousin that was 7 years older than me this game for the first time back in 2005. Him and I played it together for years along with almost any other game you can think of. He passed away in 2021 and I've never felt so lost not having my buddy there. I come back and listen to these songs and for a minute im 12 years old again having a blast with my best friend.
as someone who played OSRS for the first time in 2018, I'm just glad they decided to keep updating it, so I could still experience this masterpiece of a game. Kinda wish I discovered it sooner but oh well, better late than never. Definitely a highlight of my late childhood
Can't believe I was 7 (?!) when I made my first rs account back in 2004. Listening to this music takes me back to the days when it took me 5 minutes to kill a goblin and I couldn't walk to Varrock without being almost killed by about 10 dark wizards. Nothing can replace the happy memories I have of the old runescape.
Great times. Think about the interactivity of RuneScape and players, we could do so much, if you had died on your way to Varrock by those wizards. someone could take your things dropped, even coin. I would find dead players who lost their things and give it back to them.
I don't even know where to start, this game was my childhood and this song makes me feel like im 10 again wondering around the world of runescape with endless possibilities everywhere i went, leveling random skills as i saw them.
I started playing this again last year during the lockdowns and met a pretty chill guy in the baking club. His name was AdamRadam333 and we played every day for hours on end. One day he logs in and says he has covid and gave me everything on his account. It wasn't much more than full black armour and weaponry and like 4,000 GP but damn it I'm keeping it forever. To my friend AdamRadam333 who I only knew for a short time, I miss you man. I'm sorry I couldn't play again with you before you died. I love you ya old bastard and hopefully your Detroit Lions win a Superbowl soon.
@@kablooey2369 Especially RuneScape, if you ever plan on spending 10000+ hours on a game, do it on osrs or RuneScape 3, it's worth it, getting a 99 is a very good experience.
Grind the account to full 99, then wander around wilderness wearing nothing but full black and 4000 gold. You'll probably die every time dropping just those full black + 4k gp, and people will spread the story.
I will share my first minutes that I had in RuneScape very, very long ago, which I still remember in detail: I finally got off Tutorial Island where I was stuck for days. I was stuck there because my English was too bad to understand the tasks you had to complete. Along with a few other friends from school, we decided to walk around and explore the different areas. Suddenly somewhere in Lumbridge, I found a steel longsword laying on the ground. This totally made me think that I acquired a powerful weapon. Unfortunately, I got really disappointed when it told me that I needed an Attack level of 5 to wield it. After a while, we got in a cave full of aggressive monsters. I was totally not aware where I was and felt really scared (it probably were the first few levels of Stronghold Security). The thought of dying made me anxious. My heart was pounding and I eventually ended up dying. I remember almost crying about all the items from tutorial island that I lost. However, I felt some relief from keeping the steel longsword of which I was very proud of. A few minutes later on the bridge in Lumbridge, a mysterious old man appeared who gave me around 600 coins. I could not believe that I got so much coins and felt like the richest person in the world. It made my day.
Chase Laserbeam I'm 13 and 2007 was my favorite I didn't know how to type well and I avoided it it made quests hard but my older brother helped me I came back and the nostalgia. Oh it hurts me right in the feels. Also call me a nerd but I was crying at my computer when my character died and lost my addy armour lol I was like lvl 50 or something.now I play on private servers like grinder scape since it's all pking
Craig Stiven I know the pain my old account got hacked by some kid back in middle school, he even told me he hacked it. I remember focusing on certain skills so I could get rune Armour and weapons man those were the days. I made several accounts since then but none compare to my first. :(
Chase Laserbeam don't worry if you want play on private servers like grinder scape it's a lil different but really fun there is about 2000 to 2500 players active I think.remember chin up runescape helps us in the future which is how I made most of my friends even though they never played rs, it's the little things that make me sad like talking to people when fishing woodcutting or grinding exp on that demon in the wizards tower.
Someone just talked about this song on a Smooth McGroove video and I typed it into youtube so see which one of the tracks was "Harmony" again, and MAN the nostalgia hits you like CRAZY
I was 8 when I played this for the first time. I'm 19 now. Man whenever I got out from school, I instantly jumped on my computer and played Runescape all day. I remember all those quests, dragon armor, grand exchange, the mining, fishing, cooking and when this music played when I was fighting goblins in Lumbridge.....all those good old times.. they're all gone now :'( My Runescape life 2004-2009
The nostalgia hurts too Much :( why do we have to get older it wouldn't be the same if I played today, wish I could experience what I first did when I started playing as a young kid. Those where the days :( rest in peace memories you shall be remembered forever :(
Oldschool runescape, the version you might remember from back in 2007 (it was very similar trough all of 2004-2007), is now free! oldschool.runescape.com - if you are afraid I might be scamming, you can go to runescape.com and follow links from there to find it yourself! 100% legit.
Imagine living to the age of 90, being on your deathbed surrounded by family and loved ones. After breathing your final breath, you see the world around you start to fade to darkness, with a single light in the center getting brighter, you hear a quiet sound grow louder until you suddenly you find yourself at steps of Lumbridge Castle with this playing in the background...
The shitty mining sounds, the shitty sounds goblins made when you hit them, and the ridiculous sounds magic made when they hit a target. The nostalgia I get from hearing this one thing puts chills down my spine 10/10 much better than RS3
I have seen no other game that has put such a mark in peoples heart, such as RuneScape did too hundreds of thousands. ~RuneScape's legacy is the mark it left on us.
Song will forever give me goosebumps. Look outside and see there's alot of snow. Mom says it's a snowday. Stright to the computer! Forever inlove with osrs thank you for the great childhood.

i only have one memory of struggling to comprehend english, and it was some quest description telling me where to find the varrock wizard
i must have become fluent so hecking quick, it might have taken me 4-5 years before i was reading the entirety of hitchikers guide no problem, kids learn so darned fast when you drop them into english environments like runescape
I had a textiles lesson where we were asked about raw materials being used historically to produce items.
I said flax... you can make bow strings.
when i was a kid thats where i learned the difference between buying and selling and many other things lol
and then people say games are bad... smh. RuneScape taught me so much. especially not to trust anyone and how to type really fast.
I remember getting "engaged" in Runescape and the guy gave me a Rune plate body as an engagement gift. Good old days hahah.
And then couldn't equip it because you didn't do Dragon Slayer yet :(
+Man ManMan actually I think he helped me complete it because he was higher level. It was all very romantic, u know.
+Kelsey834
Nice story :)
I once had a girlfriend in Runescape named Kate, we used to hang a lot, she used to go and talk to the other guys and trick them to give her items and then she would come and share with me. Damn, I miss Katey.
Shouldn't it be your life mission to at least find her?
Runescape is still a good game. Tons of new features to try out. But in the eyes of the veterans, nothing can compare to the good ol days
SnowBlock oh man, that is so true
i am a veteran player from 2003 so i know the feeling
jeroen blom I've been playing since 2006, i never experienced classic but RS2 was quite fun aswell. Now, it is packed with tons of more content that any new player would rather choose over 07 Runescape. But I know that feel too. It was very community oriented back then
+SnowBlock even oldschool dosent feel the same :C

What a golden age. I'm so blessed to have experienced a childhood so rich

Ughh I want to go back to the good old nooby runescape times.. scared as shit to explore the wildy, I alwaya took 3 items to explore the wildy while crapping my pants.. playing this game for 7+ hours a day.. good times, now Im almost turning 17
This game still has a place in my heart forever!
There's 2007 RuneScape buddy. Official from Jagex.
Same here bro. I feel the pain
venichen1 wont get that same feeling playing it as when we were kids though you know haha
Fuckin real man!!!!!!!Your feelings match with me so same!!!
venichen1 The fact that I know almost everything about the game doesn't make it nostalgic anymore. It took me 3 days to complete tut island when I started RS.
Hope this plays in heaven.
It has to. How could it actually be heaven otherwise? :P

It feels good to be back for now, even now that my old account is on rs3, takes some time to adjust but it takes me back.
This soundtrack always made me sad. Even when I just started playing the game so many years ago, with absolutely no nostalgia involved, it still made me sad. But in a happy way.
Achktung Swonsburger this is a real feeling that we all have but life is amazing even without runescape.
Thane Soren This track has so much power, so much emotion, behind it. I strongly believe that the first 28 seconds of this song is the most beautiful piece of music I've ever heard. And that's not just because of my massive bias towards RuneScape. It's simply an amazing track.
+Thane Soren good times
It makes me happy actually!
What you're describing is melancholy.
The golden days of Runescape that ME & im sure the rest of you will never forget...

people begging for law runes to Varrock because they were too lazy to walk...
hearing this song again after you had died in the wilderness...

Be conscious about it, feel your senses when listening to osrs music and enjoy the moment fully, Peace y'all ✌️
you hit me hard man been more than 10 years 2005-2010 were the best days
Wow, it's really beautiful to see someone who enjoys this in a spiritual way. This game is a symbol of our inner childs. Thank you for reminding all of that. And hope to see you in osrs, and bless for your life
This both soothed me and hyped me up. You have a way with words
But one thing is clear..Runescape remains in my heart.
cute!
True words.

Cheers Everyone.
All the people who would gather together, all the typers who would compete for recruits, and who would be trying to increase their ranks :P
And now Clan Wars is dead. That hurts...
R.I.P Clan Wars, and R.I.P to the community that existed before EOC, but is gone now. (I wouldn't really have anything against EOC but since it seems like EOC has lead to the community becoming so dimished... yeah...)
PS. I realize EOC and the Wildy update that made it completely PVP are different but yeah...
Not everything, fellow veteran. Runescape will not die without a good fight.

i first played rsclassic in 2003 and it was fascinating. i remember back then with my older mates who first introduced me to the game, when we were talking about "that new rs" and how weird it was at first. i was the first one to migrate to rs2 tho and it was fucking awesome. remember shit ton of bugs etc.
ah.. the good ole days
i cant believe this made me cry! good old times... love you runescape from 3 years ago
Thumbs up for the nostalgia and tears..
You might hate noobs when you are playing this game, but this song makes you wanna miss the noobs (including you as a noob) and their noobiness haha. Nostalgia...
Man, that legit made me sad.
Dento you almost made me tear up m8:')

I still remember showing my cousin that was 7 years older than me this game for the first time back in 2005. Him and I played it together for years along with almost any other game you can think of.

I will share my first minutes that I had in RuneScape very, very long ago, which I still remember in detail:
I finally got off Tutorial Island where I was stuck for days.
