there's 2 things that make his better. 1) the longer body making how tight of a turn it can make smaller. 2) the turning mechanism which actually limits the turning even more. those combined with the low CG and he clearly built the superior vehicle.
to fix the breaks, make then grip the tires not the ground. cause you lose all of the little bit of stability you have when you brake.
More precisely, it showcases why ABS exists. He basically was locking up his brakes which spoiled all of his traction. He may as well have been on ice from that point on which is okay if you have a large stopping distance, but it ruins all ability to turn. The second he tried turning while braking he doomed himself to going in a straight line, made himself less effective at braking, and the rest was history.
Basically, Kan had the superior vehicle except for turning, where Kosmo had the better turning angle in practice. However, it had both a higher skill floor and a higher skill ceiling to properly utilize it because you couldn't brake while still having a rolling surface. It might have been more effective to put the braking wheels on bearings and power it with a gas engine but leave the engine itself unconnected just so it would roll but still provide a braking force without powering the vehicle itself otherwise. Then it would only have the issue of the back end wanting to roll over because of tricycle syndrome.
Also consider the extreme bias of grip towards the rear, which caused the creation to steer less, like the longer wheelbase.

Kosmo's car being front-heavy helped it turn at speed, just like with real cars: more weight on the front wheels = less understeer
Being front-heavy is exactly how understeer happens. His problem came from the square wheelbase and too much weight in general. His suspension also wasn't tuned very well either.

@@yizao9289 you need more weight on the steering wheels in order for you to turn. That's why weight distribution is very important, and why in racing you break before corners
@@craz107 well, in real life it functions a bit differently. But it's scrap mechanic physics and weight transfer is way less important and relevant
@@craz107 no it's not. Understeer happens when you have to much weight on the back wheels. Front-heavy is good in this case. More weight on the front wheel means more friction on the front wheels
which results in better steering. Although if the car is to front-heavy it will result in the car spinging if it makes a sharp turn because there is no weight in the back.

@@frankyanish4833 Well, if I said "I can eat this bowling ball", tried to eat it, then died, people would say "What an idiot" for trying to do something I obviously wasnt capable of. If I somehow died in an unrelated bowling ball accident it would be a tragedy. I think this answers your question.
You should do more gravity races, to save on time use the same course and just change the obstacles.

I think the reason why your car drifts so much and is so unstable is because you have pre-compressed suspension, whenever you go around a corner, your inside pushes up...

I have an idea. I just thought of it and it will be called the Oregon trail challenge. You need all wheels (not powered at all) and two mechanized hands (or whatever you make them) and things to grab on to. You have the cart with the hands and you use them to move across the race.

I started watching this series after survival came out, I noticed @3.33 kosmo’s hello is much like the trader’s hello.
Do a gravity drag race
I want to see this with some sweet regenerative braking. Thinking wheels that are lowered to make contact that are connected to some heavy blocks that can free spin. Haven't played scrap mechanic so I'm not sure how to apply this energy into the wheels.

Double wishbone suspension is very laggy in multiplayer, so that is why they don’t do it.

Do something where you have to make a big vehicle and a small vehicle (each). One of you gets in the small and the other in the big. The big one has to catch the small one. Idk, would be fun to watch tho.
