It is 100% momentum-based. If you fall a little behind, you fall _way_ behind. If you get a little ahead, you get _waaaaaaaaaaaay_ ahead. I love that they were willing to go so wild with it!
@Retromation I can imagine that with enough shenanigans you could kill bosses (or even the shopkeep) with 1 good round of shots, especially with that boss relic that makes spawning them free
With that relic I could think of a combo that could generate an infinite row of them without too much mental straining, so yeah I am absolutely sure you could
@Retromation a real wacky combo is to get the recalibrator relic (draw 1 when you miss a shot) on this ship alongside 0-cost attacks to rip through your deck at light speed with enough drones on board
@@princequincy5421 Hand cannon with some kind of draw engine or the card that fires a shot that does damage equal to all the enemy's cannon damage with this ship will be broken against Cleo.
My first "status" attack with Jupiter was Acid Cannon (2 damage, apply 1 Corrode). All 3 drones applied the Corrode. Stun shots with Jupiter is bonkers too.
@@grzegorzq3934 ...Are we watching the same clip? After Retro broke the seeker's shield, he launched an attack drone to destroy the seeker. That action cost him 1 energy, bringing him down to 3, but then he was awarded 2 energy, leaving him at 5.
Out of the 3 ships I've unlocked so far, this is my favorite. I found Drake is best with this ship imo. All the stuns with the amount of drones you get out is killer. Issac, obviously, is a great choice to get more movement and protection for the Jupiter drones. Card draw is also amazing so you can play out multiple Jupiter drones per turn
I haven't watched far into this video at the time of writing this but I just finished my first run with that ship and holy crap Riggs is mvp, every time you draw a card if you played the Jupiter's moons card it will give a new one, and Riggs not only gives lots of draw power but also gives movement so you can just position an absolute wall of drones and then let loose a big hit like hand cannon which is also a Riggs card, not hard to have 5 cards in hand and 3-5 drones hitting which means you're doing 15 damage on the low end and I personally hit the final boss with a hand cannon for over 50 damage after some setup
If you take Peri with her multi shot cards the Jupiter Drones get crazy if you have a bunch out. I think I did a run where I had the From hells heart card with like 20+ hull. I took the upgrade that knocks you down to 1 health and had at least on Jupiter drone out. I killed the Cobalt when it had about 40 health with that attack.
I had lots of fun with this ship and Strafe, so zero attack cards but tons of movement, and every move the drones shoot again. Once I got the "second attack stuns" its basically a matter of 2-3 turn setup before the enemy is basically stunlocked. Also "Waltz" killed everything, iykyk :D edit: a little tip for the buried Relic fight, as long as you don't attack it you have about 3 turns to set-up the midrow before the enemy starts attacking, which is so important for this ship.
On my second loop I got the Dr. Bjorn event and duplicated blocking shot 4 times, I had the artifact that gives all Dizzy cards +1 damage, plus the piercer and that one event basically solved ALL my damage issues for that run. I was running Jupiter Drone with Isaac for the final boss and double stun shot plus blocking shots, and a cheeky upgraded corrosion beam just ATE the Cobalt alive. Edit: Block shot A all the way!
I'm really hoping one of the question mark characters ends up being the shop keep and you unlock them by beating them. I just feel like that would be such a satisfying unlock
Okok just bear with me imagine If you took the peri cards and got multi shot for your Jupiter drones !!!! Jupiter drones !!!! WITH MULTI SHOT!!!! Ok I’m done great video
I rarely feel bad for not buying a game, but this is so finely made and looks really fun. Still... just too much on my list already. Not the worst problem to have obviously^^
At 38:20 you could have used the seeker like it looked like you wanted to, your missiles hit before the enemy takes its turn so it would have blown up before being able to hit you
I did it once, and nothing happened. I guess the idea is that he will try to position himself so his shots don't line up with your weak spots, but if you move your weak spot into the line of fire yourself, or if you lock his movement so he can't move his cannon away, that's on you.
Really curious to hear your opinion on the next character you'll get, even if it may take a few episodes. It's personally a favorite of mine. The Gemini is apparently really good with objects, could be fun to see how that works, next episode!
The easiest way to defeat the shop keep is to just get an infinite. Riggs + Max + anyone else can get an easy infinite. Quick Thinking B + Charge Beam B + Admin Deploy B and a small deck = easy infinite. They both have plenty of other artifacts that can help with it too (Flywheel, Safety Lock, Perpetual Motion Device). I know it's a bit lazy but it works if all else fails.
Kind of goes either way with this particular build, especially if you wait to use it with your first attack that has penetration, or just get permanent drone penetration... But I think, overall, Charged Shot B is the better choice. If I'm reading correctly, while it only charges by 1 each draw, it becomes free to play and loses exhaust, meaning you can play it every turn, sometimes multiple times per turn, with the small deck you try to keep, and it gets multiplied by the number of drones you have in play - rather than having to discard the card 2-3 times while trying to set up the drones to maximize damage. They both have their charms, but the Charged B has a lot more leeway to play around with, at no real drawback. With the Jupiter drone ship specifically. With any other ship, Charged A will tend to be more advantageous.
While charged shot B is certainly interesting card, it's more of unnecessary long term investment. On paper let's say ship maintains 3 jupiter cannons then B dmg goes 3 > 9 > 18, while A goes 9 > 18 > 27, most enemies won't live past that. Now factor card draw rather normal for riggs deck, which allows for occasional dead draw, ship usually having other ways to deal damage and one finishing turn being in my opinion a lot easier than maintaning constant high power to see why A will usually be a better choice. That being said in deck with either very poor or extreme card draw I could see appeal.
Would you say there is a huge difference in each run. Ik the cards act difference but I feel like usually most decks I make act the same although I only did 4 runs so far
Jupitor is actually bad with isaac because it already has a deployable and that blocks isaac. Ideally it deploys 2-3 copies of its gun and you have high dps shooting heroes that get doubled or tripled in value. The fact that you won anyways is a testament to your skill.
or you can just not use the deployable, and take advantage of the fact that drone shift and isaac's relics are busted with jupiter. y'all need to get more creative before calling things bad!
if the stars align, and your jupiter drones just happened to always be in the right position and out of danger, going all in on a heavy hitter would obviously be stronger, but Isaac _killed it_ this run in a really subtle way that doesn't get appreciated.
@@Retromation last video I looked at the comments and agreed that issac will be bad but after seeing u play it I cocur. u being creative is a testement of ur skills
Absolutely, I was oversimplifying. I was more thinking about having other heroes with big damage attacks, but those exist in the heroes you have.@@Retromation
14:42 omg they even drew him on his ship
Lol its a castle and he is on top, on the outside! How does he breathe? Trully a wizard
Jupiter is such a wacky ship, on one hand it allows for so much DPS but on the other hand you can get so screwed so fast XD

The Logbook in the Codex tells you every team comp you've used, which is great / terrifying depending on how completionist you are
Dizzy’s line at 37:23 was perfect timing. Moments like this is why this game is so great. 😂

57:29 My guess is that it counts your own drone being destroyed on launch as a midrow destruction.

Its funny how everybody refers to cleo as the shopkeeper when you dont even pay her for anything
It's a bit late, but the moment you challenge her to a fight the first time, she asks us if that's the first thing to ask if you meet a shopkeeper.
