- We got little bored in Canggu, so we decided to make a trip to the East and stayed in this tiny Bali bamboo villa. Zen Gateway is situated in Karangasem, surrounded by rice paddies and rainforest of Bali. Wood in this tiny bamboo villa is 150 years old, has no walls but comes with a private swing, two bedrooms, hanging bed and a net with an insane views. For a couple, this is one of the best places to stay in Bali without a doubt!

Fabulous ! Back about 30 years , I spent 3 months in and around Ubud and one day hiking in the jungle past some rice paddies , I came upon a guy from Europe building a place like this where he intended to live . He was surrounded by the jungle and it was my first time ever experiencing a home built in that open style . This place looks soooo amazing, thanks for sharing this video and all the others. I will be following you guys while you are in Bali / Indonesia location , as I plan to go back for a few months .. post Covid . All the best from Gulf Islands in western Canada !

@@Swift616 right. To keep out snakes from rice field path, or you may step on one and got bitten. Rice field is the natural habitant of mice, frogs and of course snakes.

I once stayed there, I was disturbed by that, at that time I was participating in a yoga training in Canggu,I used to live in Bali Legian for 15 years. Much noisier than in Tabanan which is quiet from the hustle and bustle

yes, it's very spectacular, especially for all those bugs, spiders and other insects, also snakes. They are living normally in an area with high temperature and high humidity. Must be real fun😕

i still remember my granpas place in the philippines in the 1970s almost same hut type.until all was wiped out by strong typoon ..after that all was made of concrete..indonsesia still makes this huts since its not in the typoon belt it can last longer..
Incredible....that someone would build something like this. Is it practical? No. Is it a lot of fun? Yes!
I am sure you wouldn't be able to keep the moisture out apart from the bugs. I am so used to being in a close space that I would feel a little insecure in a place like that. Does the insurance cover the guests, if you happen to fall from the top story? Definitely not a house for a bunch of drunks. But I would give it an AAA+ for inspiring the spirit in us, to live and not just exist!!
This is not a western country, forget about "health and safety", in the most of countries outside of west, common sense is the rule.

swing bed is a day bed, no many mosquitos during the day.

No way ,,, even having fabric nets at the beds 🛌 🛏 there are tons of mosquitoes 🦟 you will be eaten alive if sleep or stay at a house with no walls , not recommend neither because of a wild life insects and animals will get easily without being noticed . What it could be a nice vacation could turn in a deadly trip . 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
