Just when I was going to comment that the firewood world is not a perfect world with knotless, straight logs stacked up ready to split... You threw up a few Knotty azz piece's and put them thru the box Wedge which was good to see how the machine handled knotty wood.. Thanks for doing that !! I can only dream of owning one of your machines !!! You have definitely set the standard for processing wood into firewood !!!
I can confirm a 4 way crotch will go through a 7-way box wedge on a 37D. Don't ask. lol
Hell yes. The box wedge is my best friend
I love the splitter
I thought I was the bees nees when I got a 4 way for my 28 ton county line that broke in five minutes then I welded it with my hf flux 125 that was 2 years ago. I'm going to get this splitter. hope I can get it painted in brown close to the color of pecan. I live in a high crime area. My current splitter is gray it blends right in.
That is an incredible machine and you can tell it was designed extremely well and stoutly. I had never seen how this particular machine had the wedge changed. Excellent video so far Andrew! hahahaha.... "big guy"
Thank you for splitting the knotty wood this is what most folks split quite often
LOL! Loved the drone over Perth. It is a pretty town for sure Andrew. Thanks for giving us a glimpse. The afternoon nap? It's a classic. There is a reason i don't sit down on the couch in the afternoons...guaranteed to pass out everytime. :)) - very helpful video - great info for folks to be able to make an informed decision. Have a nice New Years!
The box wedge makes wood in a hurry. Especially when u are working alone. Beautiful town u live in. I miss the fox wood already. Lol
Andrew and all at Eastonmade. I just received my Ultra wood splitter. Cant wait for weekend to split some wood. This may be your entry level, smallest, lightest weight, simplistic splitter you make.
I tried to move it on level ground by hand.
I am impressed with how much steel and rugged nature of this “little” splitter.
It is not as small as I saw in videos, it is not light weight, it is your entry level but not by any means cheaply made as those box store units you have to bend over to use.
Guys I am impressed with my new Ultra! I had placed order in March 2023 and just received it 12-20-23. Seeing is believing, it’s well worth the wait.
Ok got to go cut some trees and split some wood!
Thanks for quality product!
Mark D
What a beautiful intro and a beautiful town. You are 100% correct on how we take for granted where we live and really just about everything else around us. Excited to see these wedges work!
Scheib uses a trailer hitch mounted deer hoist/crane to swap out his box wedges. He has videos on it. If you have a chance, I'd be curious if the new 16 way wedge for the processors would work in the 37D?
I like that 7 way wedge that gave you a bit of paint tollerance issues. Good size wood coming out of it and I cannot believe how it pushed through that gnarly wood. Insane amounts of power for sure! I got into some Sycamore yesterday and I couldn't believe how similar it was to Elm. The Pizza wedge would be very good for bundle wood for sure. Good size stuff and when you have a machine that can process like this, why not make it smaller?! The more processed it is, the more valuable to some people. Great video and thanks for making this one in particular!
I am sure glad that I added the 5 way box wedge to my 12-22 that I ordered. Looks to be a great addition to the 6 way. Can't wait to get splitting !
Andrew you build a truly amazing product. I’ve never been to Perth but next time I’m Ottawa or Quebec bound I will definitely check it out. Absolutely stunning with the light dusting of snow.
Cheers Woody !!!
God bless you and your family and have a very merry Christmas and each and everyone that works for you
Nice to see the difference between box wedges. Really puts into perspective the size wood each creates.
Fantastic video and really shows the difference- thank you from Perth Western Australia even though we don’t see your machines here I’m sure they are some of the best.
Best Christmas movie of the season! I fall asleep unintentionally EVERYDAY!
Hello Andrew. It’s Christmas night and I’ve finally found time to catch up on some videos. This is a great review of the available box wedges. I’m using the Pizza box and love it. Thanks for the shoutout… I have videos showing the standard 7 way and the pizza 7 way. You are absolutely right about the box and pullback arm… they save a tremendous amount of physical labor.
Good day Andrew, great area view of Perth. As you mentioned we that live in small towns take the beauty for granted. Great video of showing all three box wedges. Im liking the pizza wedge for bundle grade firewood. Merry Christmas Andrew and family cheers 👌🏻🔥🇨🇦
Perth looks awesome with the light blanket of snow, thanks for the flyover! This is a perfect example of what we can expect from the different box wedge options, nicely done.
The new glasses look great Andrew. Also great to see Big Guy in the videos!
Nice to see the comparison between the wedges Andrew. It’s the “couch” that did you in. Afternoon 💤 are the best. Perth does have a lot of charm with a nice lazy wondering river flowing through.
You forgot to mentioned Dan at back 40 on how to remove wedge !! Dan has his wife just pick it up and out and swaps them out 💪💪💪💪
Love the video, sharing the good, bad and ugly. I love the 7 way on my 22-28 saves alot of time. I welded a piece of 3/4 square stock to one end of short chain. Drops in the top of the wedge, turn it across the slot, pulls out straight.
Great video!! Town of Perth is beautiful!!! Glad to knotty wood go through the box wedge!!!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
That intro was nice. I'm thinking maybe if I can up my production 300% and prices stop increasing, I can afford one of your machines in about 200 years. £Wishlist. Those times you wake up from an unexpected nap are always fun. I did that last week. Woke up, fed the pigs, goats, and chickens. Went in to feed the fire and woke up 4 hours later on the couch. 🤷♂️ I must have been tired
I run a 7 way box wedge on my homemade splitter. A feel much better about my machine after watching the king of splitters the mighty 37D shoving gnarly stuff through a 7 way box wedge. Admittedly my wedge mounting needs a bit more beef but all in all I’m impressed.
You should make a vid of the big guy in a pair of daisy Duke shorts . And use him, like back 40 uses Amanda.
Its funny you say that. I have a guy at the shop that wears them everyday hes off. It like a time machine back to 1988 lol
Awesome drone intro, Merry Christmas fellas!
Hi Andrew, an answer to a question I haven't asked. Now I'll watch the vid. I paused after the intro to comment.
Beautiful town. One thing I like about winter, it makes everything pretty with fresh snow.
Andrew thank you for sticker to making the video. I know you showed a couple of sticks from each box wedge, but would have been nice to see three separate piles of split wood. This was you can see the split sizes and also the waste.
Again thank you for hanging in there to make the video.
G'day Andrew, Your town looks like it was settled by Scottish stone masons and well worth a visit the next time I'm over that way. I was thinking as you were struggling with that wedge the bloke in the paint shop gave it one to many coats ! anyway I hope you and your family and team have a merry Christmas and a prosperous new year 👍.
Awesome video I was thinking for a minute you’re gonna be making Eastonmade drones ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Nice comparison video Andrew . I think that will help a lot of people out deciding what they want .
Hi Andrew, I have a little problem. The bend at the end of the lifting table keeps a round from rolling off. But it also keeps a round from rolling on. So I've been thinking. How about a double, kind of, "Z" bend that would form a little ramp to allow a round to more easily roll on, but at the same time keep it from rolling off. An alternate would be a wooden or molded plastic (polyethylene) ramp, set in front of the lift. Either would eliminate having to wrestle a heavy round onto the lift with a pickeroon. While I love my 12-22, I never owned anything I didn't try to improve. CAUTION! That NEVER applies to the wife. And no, I am not implying that I own her. 😅 shalom/gw
Thats a great idea george
NICE job👍
hi there you guys make a nice splitters , john
Sometimes you just need a short nap 💤. I definitely feel your pain with wondering if you’ll ever get the video done. Sometimes things just go that way! The pizza wedge is the way to go imo for a lot of wood sales.
Really helpful! Been watching @OldGuyFirewood and loving that 7 way wedge! Nice to see the deferences. About a year away from making an upgrade.
That’s an awesome machine great video
Merry Christmas an Happy New Year
Happy New year Andrew 🎉 Nice job 👏 👍🏻
I have to ask where do you get the 90 degree rotating firewood sizing attachment? Maybe you guys could send some equipment my way and do some onsite reviews. Call it high altitude testing.
Hawkesbury area here. Been to Perth a few times. Beautiful area
I have the same problem, something about a big screen t.v. and a recliner . Ants fr another informative video. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and Blessings in the New Year. Cheers my friend.
Im terrible to watch a movie lol
Nice town! Awesome machines 👍
Great video Andrew thanks for sharing this
Outstanding
Hey Andrew how are you doing I'm good wishing you and your family a merry Christmas and happy new year
Great Design buy you and your Staff roll it up there and let her split !!!
I have the Pizza wedge on my new 12-22 and have a couple of videos out already with it. Love it.
@adirondackwoodsman are you making bundle wood with yours?
@@NeighborlyHomestead I am I started with big ash rounds because that is what I had cut up already
Great intro
If you used eye bolts for drilled and tapped holes in the correct place the wedge would hang straight vertically no matter what it was hanging off of. or that might be more work than it's worth for the occasional change out.
After splitting side by side with Scheib and Brad a few weeks ago, them having the 7 way box wedge and me just my 4 way. It really showed how fast they produce wood. Sure my pile of "slash" was smaller but they easily split 100 times what i was able to split all day. If you have wood you need to produce fast, the box wedge is the best option for time management 💪💪
Awesome movie guys, Merry Christmas 🧡💙
Please build an input trough like the one used on outdoor with the Morgans.
Andrew any plans on building a 24way for this machine or one your machines that will handle it?
Orange 🍊 and blue the way to go in wood yard if your look 👀 for Benjamin to be made . 😊 39:06
Thanks for that comparison Andrew! Now I'm just torn between deciding on the standard 7 way or the 7 way Pizza wedge. The wood did seem to go thru the standard 7 way a little easier than the pizza wedge. Perth looked beautiful covered in snow. Scheib always runs on beast mode! - Tim
duderanchdiy has a good video on the pizza wedge. He said he would have just gotten the pizza wedge when he first got his had he known as the standard box wedge makes pieces a little too big for bundles. Said you can only go so low on the height or the hydraulic lift link will come out of the slot causing the wedge to be pushed upwards during splitting. He said that with the pizza wedge you are getting perfect sizes for bundling and firewood stands. And that you can always raise the height of the pizza wedge to get larger pieces but the standard box wedge is limited on making smaller pieces. Noted for the pizza wedge on the 22-28 I ordered as a result. There is also another channel called old man firewood or something like that where he says the same thing.
@@disenfranchisedcitizen1432 thanks for the reply. I watch Old Guy Firewood. I know he likes the pizza wedge. I'll have to check out dude ranch diy
Would like to see some intentional shallow splitting with the 5 way but I'm guessing 2-1'2 x 4-1/2 or so would be no problem.
I found your channel and have been enjoying your videos, from your factory tour to your splitter demonstrations. Your team build awesome equipment. It's been years since I've burned firewood because of hours spent on my job but now that I'm retired im planning on getting back to it. It's enjoyable and relaxing for me😊.
I need one of these machines. Ive been watching tons of your videos on these. Love them. I feel like they are probably one of the best machines made. Do you all finance these machines or just sell out right?
Where did you get the length gage for your saw ?
I was wondering the same thing
Am I missing something? It seems to me from watching videos that a regular 7 way would aplitvthe entire log and then on to the next one (much faster than the box wedges)🤷♂️
Absolutely beautiful intro!! Literally just looked at your website last weekend for this information! I love the fact that a homeowner/ starting business guy like myself could start out with a 5-11 and still be able to buy a box wedge for use on the big rounds from the trunk. I love the fact that the machines have the ability to allow for growth in a business. A person can start out with a 5-11 build up the business, save, and use the same components in a 37D down the road. Money isn't wasted on one machine just to sell it down the road to upgrade because of incapability.
QQQQ. I would love to use a 5way box but I would like to make 2x6 size pieces. Is that possible? How short or skinny can the wedge produce? My thoughts are keeping firewood pieces roughly that 2x6 dimension still should allow for fast complete seasoning but leaves the ability to resplit to bundle grade pieces or resplit and cut up to smoker chunks very easily. Would I need a custom wedge to get that 2 inch height or can the standard off the shelf wedges do this? I'm hoping to get a 5-11 or possibly better yet a 9-16 (well get on the list) next year. I've watched a lot of videos, listened to even more opinions of what's "best"..... Well my idea is thinner but any width. I'm hoping it will season in a shorter amount of time so I can build inventory while I build the business.
Anyway sorry to ramble on, great video I've fallen asleep just about anywhere also.😂
What kind of measuring device is on your saw
How do you like the Teleskid?
What is the measuring device that u have on your saw?
Cool drone footage, what kind of drone do you use? Good video on the wedges. Somthing for everybody!
Dji mini pro 3 i think
What size sling do you use to switch the box wedges?
We just ordered a 12-22 with 7 way box wedge. We are in PA. 385 miles from you. Do you allow factory pickup and if so is there anything required coming back across the border? We would be towing it home.
Yep you can pick it up from the factory. We will prepare all the documents for you to travel back across the border. Its pretty straight forward.
Andrew, any updates on the 40c?
Guys were back on it today mounting the pumps and engine. We had a 60c to get done for the end of the year
😂 fell asleep
How would your box wedge work with Eucalyptus?
Dry silicon spray?
How would your box wedge do with Eucalyptus???
I need to make trudope blackface disappear, what would you recommend?
About half way through and I have to comment on the changing of the wedges.
That looks completely untenable. Sorry Andrew.
I love the wood production and would buy one in a second if there was automobile style financing available ( maybe there is??) but I wouldn’t be selling the different wedges as a convenience or up sell.
Would it be possible to “stack” the wedges into one unit? Make the wedge and the exit part of the table one thing, then another wedge/exit table above it. The lowest setting would be for the largest rounds, the highest setting , being enclosed at the top, would be for smaller rounds. Use the wedge elevator to raise or lower the stacked wedge unit level with the “ram table”. Sounds crazy but I can see it in my head. Lol. Or maybe a barrel style wedge that could turn, like a revolver, revealing a different wedge with each turn. I apologize for the craziness….💨anything to avoid changing those heave wedges.
I love the brand, thanks to @chrisinthewoodyard. I hope to own one one day.
Thanks for the videos!!
Wait till you get older and you start having those naps twice a day. 🤭🤭
Was wondering why the motor gets loaded down so much when putting the log lift down. ?
Have a great Christmas Eve and day. 👍🏻🪵🪓🔥
How much is the 22/28 wood splitter
