You know you got a good driver and a good crew and team when they can feel at the tire Shake is from being underpowered or overpowered, the motor pulling down or vice versa, Wheels come up set it down and gently pull it back over I mean just off the hook wild! I mean that's the kind of stuff that Jimmy Prock or Alan Johnson or Larry McBride kind of deal will be talking about! The pioneers of their respective Sports, just unreal! The fastest thing I've ever driven was a mid low 10-second T bucket, I got to ride in a four and a half second to the 8th mile deal that was pretty cool and I've worked on Blown Nitro injected Nitro Blown Alcohol all that stuff and various times in my life but to see a car like this and the amount of time and money and hard work and custom work that goes into it pay off, just gives me goosebumps watching it! I saw your comment and go, yep you get it! LOL
@@dmeemd7787, man, I grew up around drag racing all my life and just about every one of my family members raced in various classes in NHRA from stock elim to top dragster back in Louisiana Division 4… I also worked with NHRA here at the Texas Motorplex just about every year… People really don’t think about the cost these cars are to the pro category to run numbers like that… Setting up and dialing in the chassis, to getting the gearing and transmission to work together, then dialing the horsepower of the engine to come on at the right time, then the driver has to go to work… That’s why I was shocked this guy rode the hit of the tires and didn’t lift!!! Then picked the front end back up and looked like he carried them out past the 660’!!! That’s a bad boy right there in a turboed small motor doorslammer….👍🏾

I know its a 4piston K24 motor. but vtec typically adds a torque spike that most drag cars would rather not have, and, VTEC was made to have a eco mode/sport mode to the car, which, why would a drag car need a small cam in it? and then its also another sensor and more moving parts which aren't needed either.
I've worked on Pro mods top fuel type alcohol, he drove the living shit out of this car! The few people I know that work with four-cylinder and 6 cylinder stuff like this, never anything this extreme I might add just to clarify LOL, I mean it just... the amount of work and work and even more work and dedication as something that most people can't even remotely fathom to make something like this happen! Even with the stuff I've worked on and the teams I've done really well with, there is no comparing a blown Nitro car or a screw blown alcohol car with a 4 cylinder car like this with the short wheel base and everything else I mean, just beyond epic! YOU KNOW someone can drive when they can tell if it's under power or overpowered Tire Shake, the front wheels come up steady get down gently drifting it over without having to Pedal it, this just gives me goosebumps every time I watch it, unbelievable work!

You know that wheelie sensor was pulling timing. Imagine if the nose stayed down and he had the full potential of that bullet pushing that thing down the track. 5.70's 5.60's 5.5x's??????? That team is amazing. Probably 1000's of hours, 100's of passes, decades of experience and learning. Years of trying to make things better, fixing & optimizing, just flat out love of the game we all play and participate in. Thousands at a time, a tenth if we really get lucky. We learn something every time we touch the car, when we drive it & wrench on it, we make adjustments & try to do something we've never tried. I love the culture the people, the body lines the sound the feeling u get when u help someone or they help you. The endless types of cars & swaps & looks, I'm addicted lol. I would like to see the slip for that pass. Probably .0999 60ft, 2.50's to the 330ft, 3.80's to the 1/8th at probably 210ish for the mph at the 1/8th, and you saw the 1/4 it was 5.80ish at 243mph, that would make you pucker. The G's might just push the contents of your intestinal area right out the ole P000shoot. So yes I would precautiously pucker up the exit. If u get out of the car and don't fill anything warm running down the back of your legs your probably ok. Really tho I run 4.50's with a PB of 4.21 in my old mans car ((he runs 4's with a 0 usually but I'm fat as hell lol)) and I get tunnel vision on the first pass if I've been out of the car for a while. I can't imagine being in that thing. It would literally distort your face and make your ears lay back if you didn't have a sock and helmet on lol. I'm dumbfounded. It's a 4 cylinder. I think you're giving it too much respect. Not much left in that thing. Definitely not 2 tenths. It shouldn't be pulling timing in that configuration. If so, it can't be much. It's settling down on the 2-3 and 3-4 gear changes.

Considering what the rear tires were doing the first 60 feet of that run (look at 5:05) that driver had some big-time huevos to keep his foot in it. How these guys get a 5.80 car's worth of horsepower and torque out of a four-cylinder engine, even the very tunable K24, is just beyond me.
@@dlg78 A Honda k24 blueprint billet block. Exact same design as the original just billet working it’s metal magic to handle the boost. Honda engineers didn’t design these engines to hurt other brands feelings. If they did make their metal castings as billet does you’d be paying 80k plus for an Acura rsx type s.

Some minor modifications may be used but the original casting is off of a k24. Again, Honda didn’t design these blocks to handle this type of power. Forged internals was their signature hence why these motors are widely used to add bolt ons, minor boost, nos etc…. But not go crazy with it like these guys. Their point was to hurt feelings. Just like yours lol.
