IT SEEMS ALL KAWASAKI MOTORS I HAVE BUILT OVER THE YEARS,, do not have enough rod side clearence. i have built 100 zx11 motors and it always seemed to get the most journal clearence with inserts available and machine the rods to gain another 004 or so side clearence... seems to work
@Trip6Specter it's always an oiling issue. There is a catch "can" on the left side of the motor that a lot of people neglect to clean out that causes issues at times, low oil level is another biggie. All failures we are seeing are in the bottom end of the motor, though so far.
@provenpowercycles that makes sense I had my bike tuned by Moore Mafia and he always told me with the ZX-14 keep my oil at the top full line I always have and full synthetic every 3500, I will inspect this catch can thank you!
What is the definition of engine vs motor? “People use both interchangeably, but the difference is that motors run on electricity and engines run on combustion. The engine converts various forms of fuels into mechanical force, while the motor transforms electrical energy into mechanical energy. Just sayin lol. The rear brake line replacement on a Zx14r is a huge pita because it doesn't end at the master cylinder. It ends at abs junction under tank sump.
Tyson Kyle 88 I would never hesitate to buy a Kawasaki motorcycle. They are top notch, just like the other big 3 Japanese brands. On these silly comment sites, it's always the same. BLAME THE MACHINE BUT NEVER THE OWNER. I have personally known riders that NEVER check their oil, run the wrong viscosity of oil ( they somehow think they know more than the brilliant engineer's that created their bike), use improper fuel, never perform any maintenance, etc. etc I have owned 3 Kawasakis in the last 20 years. 2 were race replicas(technical name for sport bikes), a zx7 and zx6r. Both bikes were bone stock mechanically, except the Zed 7 had a pipe on it ( D&D). That poor bike was FLOGGED dozens of times on the racetrack. It was also ran hard out in the country many times. In the 55000 miles l put on it, the only malfunction was a fried voltage regulator. Perhaps the problem stems from all this modifying that currently is so popular. A stock zx14 is so fast, the vast majority of riders LACK the SKILLS to extract all of its performance potential. There was an experiment done years ago by a British sport bike magazine. They did a torture test, to see how durable Japanese motorcycles are. They took a zx6r, drained most of the coolant ( so it would run hot), ran it for 3 hours with the throttle held wide open in neutral . It was in a dark room, they took pictures of the exhaust pipes glowing red from heat. After the test, the motor didn't blow up, they added coolant and proceeded to ride it on the street. Other than a slight upper end tick, the bike ran fine. To all that watched the video, wear proper gear if you ride and be safe. Cheers!!!!
Let's go Greenville South Carolina. / blue ridge in the house 🇺🇲🦅🏁💯🔥ps. let's go Kawasaki ZX gang 👌👊🏁🏆🏍️

#3 defo hit the top
Most people put frame sliders on which uses longer front mount bolts. That motor has been out before.
I have a crash cage on it from the previous owner. But I took them off so they wouldn’t have to. Ig I should’ve left them on lol
@williamk200 man we were wondering what the hell was going on with that! 😅 glad to know you had more support on the bike than we thought!
the piston number on the head says a rod bearing is gone.
What's the issue your seeing with the zx14's? As an owner of a bolt on and tuned zx14r I'm curious!!! 2023 with 20k miles currently

@Trip6Specter oil is a biggie on these bikes. You have to keep level on the higher side! Absolutely vital on these bikes.

Take out the the pushrod and smooth out with 800 grit
How reliable are the new 6r's??
What swingarm and length is on the green zx14, looks good.
@tbrowning9643 this one is an evil swing arm and 4-8 over stock length 🤙
@ thanks!
What swing arm did you go with?
@richardbarber8147 this one is an Evil arm 4-8" over stock length.
ZX 14 r....is still a thing....Why haven't they released a new one?
Is that the stock swing? it looks super cheap. 🤨
@chrisdadigger1018 no that is an evil swingarm. Short extension so it's still a fun street setup 👌
It's not Zeeee X 1400 it's zed X 1400 👍🙂✌️
@rs5001988 😅😅 when we here zed x over here, we all laugh about it! Too funny
Ill never buy another kawi product again. They are the worst "Japanese" bike manufacture.

@@SteveApel-g1e You must love recalls and kawi changing prices without notice, screwing over people who bought prior.
@@SteveApel-g1e Not only recalls but the fact that it took 6 MONTHS to find a fix/solution. I could go on Kawi is the nissan of japan.
@@TysonKyle88 I'm taking about engineering dude, try again!!!
@@TysonKyle88 if you are too weak to negotiate a good price, that's your problem!!!
