For this model -E6410, if you want to install in uefi partition and proper shutdown, you need bios version A07. (apply to windows 10 & windows 11)

A07? 😲 How could we downgrade that far?

@@StevePringle Get this info from one of the forum. I personally tested it, no problem downgrade to A07 when running W11

I guess your suggestion concerns the inability to boot in UEFI mode, right? When I had a Dell E6410, I could boot Windows on GPT partition in UEFI mode only if I pressed F12 to show boot options and enforce it to boot it that way, the same held true for the installation process from the flash drive when reboots were required. The settings in BIOS for legacy and UEFI boot didn’t have any effect, it always wanted to boot in legacy mode, I tried to downgrade BIOS, but I tried only a previous revision, I didn’t try a super old one. I simply gave up on UEFI boot on that model. But apparently it didn’t concern all those models as I saw in comments and videos. I also happened to have the one that had a problem with a graphics driver on Windows 10, the screen turned black, and I had to either install an older driver or disable the driver signature enforcement in Windows, modify the inf file of the latest driver and manually install it using an external screen and of course disable its automatic update in Windows using their Show or hide updates utility. Even then some builds occasionally misbehaved, that when I wanted it to go to sleep, it restarted instead.

@@mertonnephake it able to boot from UEFI or Mbr, but, if you using UEFI boot with latest bios, it would not have proper shut down (screen seen like it already shut down, but actually it still on)

You can disable fast startup which it resolves shutdown and sleep issues, but with hibernate it has a issue.

Install in mbr legacy mode to see if it works. UEFI mode causes this since windows 10. May be the same issue in windows 11.

What's in GPT or removed that would cause this? Will give it a test in the week in the name of science. 👍

If I could a guide on how to find the right graphic driver that work well on it for windows 10 as the automatic updates for window 10 turn the screen black meaning it is incompatible

Installed in another PC which was supported and then installed the drive. Please note that it has power issues which I have yet to solve.

@@StevePringle I know what the power issue is. It's a pre-existing bug with Windows 10 & UEFI configuration. It won't power off under UEFI & Windows 10 either. Install on legacy though & it powers off as normal. I found this out a year ago on mine. I have every possible update and upgrade possible on my e6420 laptop just as a side note. Hope this helps.

Funny thing is, no issues under Ubuntu or macOS High Sierra. I wonder if a firmware update (or rollback) can fix it.

@@StevePringle Latest Bios on mine upon experiencing this issue so maybe rollback but I doubt it. Never hurts to try though.

Does Latitude E6410 support Nvidia 3100m VGA driver on windows 11?

Didn't have any issues installing drivers. We did have an issue shutting down and it could be related. So far no issues under Linux or macOS so the drive is partitioned in 4 for Windows 10, 11, Ubuntu 23 and macOS High Sierra.
