VICTORIA'S VICTORIOUS VOCAL EXERCISE PROGRAM - a different kind of singing program! SUPER AFFORDABLE! MORE INFO & ORDER HERE: www.healthyvocaltechnique.com/order-victorias-victorious-vocal-exercise-program/
I was a voice major 20 years ago in college, and haven’t really trained my voice since then. I found your channel and OMG, it’s like I’m falling in love with voice training all over again!!! I had my thyroid removed a couple of years ago, and had some vocal damage from that surgery. I’m excited to see if I can strengthen my voice back to what it used to be using your exercises!
I’m watching this because not only do I want to learn how to sing, but from not being a loud person or very confident kid growing up, my vocals have suffered. I’ve had a deep voice since middle school, and every since puberty, suffered voice cracks growing up. Even now, I occasionally have voice breaks or feel my vocal chords just give up mid sentence or I just run out of breath/control over my voice quickly. I will now be implementing these tips for my everyday speech and overall vocals. Thank you Victoria!
Strength training: 1.- Descending “e” w light glottel (clicking of the vocal cords, light pulses of the abdomen, no breathiness) 2.- continuous “Ee”, light glottal on 1st note 3.- Continous “Ee”, no light glottal 4.- “Eh;Ah” with light glottal on each note 5.- From “eeh” to “ah”, with light glottal on “eeh” 6.- From “eeh” to “ah” without glottal
I like the way you encourage us. I used to sing in primary school, that make me feel happy. Later on, i grew up and not time for singing. Something was missing in my life. Now i am over 60 and found you. Thank you I feel happy again.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
im someone who thinks im really good at singing but i realize afterwards that im really damaging my voice since everytime i sing my throat gets really like sore? which i think means that im straining my voice. im so happy i found your channel !
As a brand new wanna be singer, I am so happy I found your channel. It is absolutely fantastic. Excellent explanations and great demonstrations, I am starting to exercise my vocal cords each day. I will watch all your videos! Thank you so much for training with us! You have a great voice!
Thank you for sharing your wisdom. I just got my voice back after having a paralyzed nerve after thyroid removal. I only had half of my voice working for 9 months. I’ll be strengthening my voice now with your videos. I’m so happy I can sing again!
Fantastic video! When I first started taking voice lessons, I had a lot of trouble getting proper vocal cord closure. My voice has never been loud, so getting the sensation of correct closure has been difficult. But you've really helped me to improve, and for that I'm grateful!
I love doing a range of songs when i sing karaoke but I’d really like to learn how to strengthen my vocal cards every day. I mean i work out in the gym 4 days a week so i should be able to learn the exercises to train my voice. I’m gonna proceed slowly
Thank you!! These sessions are really good. I had no idea how to close or support or strengthen my vocal cords. I always wanted to sing but there was no power. Thank you Soo much!
Mom Victoria,, i've Mastered the basic of technicaly singing now and sang more well. i want to thank you for your lesson video's that teach me singing well🥰 My best teacher😘🥰
Since I found you a few months ago I've been practicing with you . I feel like you're my personal coach you're great thank you so much I'm understanding my vocals better 🎤🎤😁
Thank you for the exercises. I just recorded myself singing for the first time in years and my voice has a whiny tone in it which I think is damage and strain from acid reflux. I think doing your exercises should help! Love your New Yawk accent as well! And the way you know when I did it wrong 🤣
I so love you, Victoria! Thank you for sharing your time and lessons. I’ve lately noticed a ‘warble’ when I sing, partly from the medicine I have to take because of my physical disabilities, and partly because I can’t practice like I used to because of the pain from the aforementioned disabilities. Your lesson today has restored my belief that I *can* practice again a little bit at a time and strengthen my voice again. God Bless you for being such a generous soul.
You are the only vocal coach on RUclips I like that I’ve found so far! The way you speak reminds me of my old choir teacher, your methods are comforting! Haha I lost it when you said “🤨😌 we better do it again.” Like you could hear me in the room with you 😂
This is really helpful. About 40 years ago, I could easily impersonate Steve Perry's voice (Journey). Now, I have a difficult time mimicking Paul Rodgers or Robert Plant. Back then, it was effortless. I really want to get back there. With your exercises, I may do it. Side note: I wooed my now-wife with a version of Over the Hills and Far Away from Led Zepplin. She said it was at that moment that she knew she wanted to marry me.
Wow. Not that I doubted you specifically, but I’ve watched so many videos on stuff like this, but this video is actually the truth. This one and the one on the vocal presets or whatever. (Glottal strokes and airy etc) thank you! I know this comment might not make sense, but thank you!!!!
I realized today that I had been hitting the glottal too hard (and making the gorilla sounds you warned about, lol). Being mindful of that and doing a softer glottal really improved how my voice fared through my exercises.
Excellent! New subscriber here. I'm almost 50 now and like to have a singing voice. Will do this exercise and see how it goes. Thank you for sharing Victoria much love. ❤😊
How do I stop automatically adding fry when my glottal onset?? I don’t know why I do this. Maybe it’s from growing up hearing so many pop singers doing it?? It’s so frustrating, I sound so dumb 😂😂
I would try starting with a "silent H" or a "B" to your vowel onsets. Also, remember that the exercises in this video are with a light glottal to help with vocal fold closure. You may be overdoing the glottal. We use glottals on words that start with vowels in English but it's never a hard glottal.
Backstory- I sang in school, I remember when my music teacher heard me once briefly and said 'I didn't know you could actually sing" after he literally chased me down the hallway 😂 because I was always afraid to use my "real" singing voice in front of people but I remember being able to feel it in my vocal cords, like I could feel multiple 'tunnels' opening and vibrating, after all these years, I want to sing, but I can't get that feeling back. What was that and how can I learn to do it once again. I really regret not doing the solo or joining the choir, but I can't dwell, I just need to get better, I want to prove to everyone that yes, I could sing, 😂 silly I know
If you felt it back then, you can find the sensation again now! Go back to basics and rediscover your singing voice! PLAYLIST: BEGINNING SINGERS! Here is your STEP-BY-STEP guide! ruclips.net/p/PLaWjWxiTysDB8Y43Y09ZULeoxrOYztdDD
Hi Victoria! Thanks for these great exercises, i think it will be really handful. But, when i did those throughout the video, after that i felt tired and some discomfort in throat i guess. It's not hurting, just not quiet freely. I wonder if it's normal to feel discomfort doing vocal exercises, because everyone says NO FEELING IN YOUR THROAT
Hi, so when actually singing, do we not close the folds as hard as in these exercices? I feel like when i sing with a more soft closure it sounds way better. And does it depend on the genra? Right now i am singing demons by imagine dragons. Do we manipulate the closure depending on what we sing?
Yes, the degree of vocal fold closure depends on the sound that you want. The exercises in this video are for efficient (medium) closure, not hard closure. Try experimenting with different degrees of closure and see how it affects your sound!
mummy Victoria, am new on this channel ,Just want to start learning how to sing, never had a voice training before , please what are the basics of singing?
I'm new to your channel. I want to sing but I need to start very basic and possibly work on something to help because I smoke but am stopping to sing. So I need to strengthen and anything you would feel I could do because of the smoking. I need to know where to start.

I used to sing for a living until I stopped about 20 years ago. I've sang lightly around the house since then. I hooked up my old PA system and found that I crack at the slightest chord change. Its upsetting. I sound fine just fine lightly singing but using power to belt out a song im awful. i also have had to use a cpap for the last 15 yrs and have asthma now. any chance i can get my old power voice back.
I would go back to basics and start with my Beginner Playlist. It doesn't mean that you are a beginner, but it is best to go back to the basics after a long hiatus because the voice changes over time. PLAYLIST: BEGINNING SINGERS! When I go to the link, it asks me to choose a voice type. What should I do?
In answer to your question, each program covers 2 1/2 octaves in range. If singers are not sure of their voice type, I recommend ordering alto/mezzo-soprano for women and bass/baritone for men, especially for beginners. That is for lower to medium voice types, so unless you consider your voice to be high, this should work. If not, you have 30 days to switch to the higher voice category.

how long should i be doing each exercise?
It all depends on your voice and your particular needs. 10 minutes a day total on these exercises is reasonable.
Is it alright if i do the exercises ( especially 1-3) on a slightly closed mouth? The vibrations around my mouth feels good not gonna lie 😅
You should practice both slightly closed and open! 😃
