This video is SUPER useful Helen!! So thorough, especially for chickens like myself who are a tad bit scared of watercolour!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Seriously though, thank-you so much for taking the time to make this video! I really believe it will help so many people enjoy this gorgeous medium!! THANK-YOU!! 🎨🤗💖💕😘🐝
@@lydiabond5393 Aww thanks so much, you're too kind 🤗🤗 But I am and always will be a watercolour chicken 🤷♀🤣😭😍 Thankfully our lovely Helen gets us out of trouble every time; she helps us see what a beautiful medium watercolour truly is!! Super grateful to you Helen 😘❤🤗🐝
I started painting during Covid with acrylics trying different tutorials, then took 6 one line one on one lessons in watercolour with a lovely artist. Personally I've found your videos are by far the best for me! Thank you so much for such informative videos.
Thank you Helen. I’ve been painting in watercolour for several years but it’s always good to revisit the basics from time to time. Great video. Thank you. - Dawn 🌅
This is a great basics video. Doesn’t matter how long you’ve been painting, good basic are your core skills and maybe there is something here that you didn’t know, or a way to do it better. I’ve had several “aha’s” watching instruction on skills I thought I knew. Thank you !
Very helpful, Rae. I love blooms, myself. I kept trying to experiment with them, but my technique was off. I recently learned that you get a better bloom if you don't add the clear water right away, but also you can't wait until the paint is completely dry. In your demonstration on the video, you got a lovely bloom by waiting just a bit. It makes all the difference. Nice brush by the way! 😊
Thank you. Blooms definitely have their place and look very dramatic. I also enjoy that look. Thank you re the brush. As soon as we have a lunch date I’ll let everyone know more x
Definitely. I think I’ve another next week (I upload about five weeks at a time and I’m sure I’ve a beginner one next Tuesday). Glad you found it helpful 🌸
@@helencampbell She loves you! (as I do!) :) I recommended her several weeks ago. I really appreciate you and your lessons. Even if I don't follow the exact lesson, I have learned a lot from the techniques you show. You have encouraged me to explore my beautiful gouache (Holbein - which I was afraid to use!) and also my Inktense blocks and pencils, as well as expanding my watercolor techniques. Thank you so much for these tutorials.
I thought you might like the sound of that...but when you do publish your book, don't forget to mention me in the dedication section for suggesting the idea, haha, lol xx
Hi Helen, just watched your fantastic video... It was really great, seeing you demonstrate it provides a nice simple way to break it down. I reckon even I should be able to do it. Lol xx. Like the effects of the leaf with its slightly decaying edges. Love decaying leaves in the autumn. Lots of vibrant rustic colours revealed, when the Choloform? Is that right?? recedes back. Are you going to do some more of these super watercolour techniques? Gary x
Hi Gary. Thank you very much for your kind words. And I’ve no doubt you can do it lol. I do believe you are right with the Choloform or perhaps we are both confusing it with Sony else lol. I will definitely do more of these. I’ve already got the next few weeks lined up with other tutorials and of course the big news about my brushes being launched x
Hi Helen, I look forward to seeing your future tutorials, they are very inspiring and a great joy to watch. Like the sound of your new brushes being launched. How about a book one day? Take care. Gary x

Thank you very much Dr 🐝 Bee. I think a little refresher is good now and again 🌸🐝🥰
Dont beat yourself up. Watercolor is one of the more difficult mediums
@lydiabond5393 absolutely
Very insightful, it is so clear to see the difference once you presented the evidence. Thank you so much since this is something I struggle with. ❤

Thank you so much. It's so good to revisit the basics, even if we know most of them. Even artists teach/ use the basics in different ways.

Do the patreon guides come with outlines or do you still have to go through facebook
With patreon, all of the guides are attached to the videos that you won’t have to scroll through
Do you give a list of materials for each painting.
Yes. In the description of every video
what paper do you use? :)
Mostly arches rough pressed
