There's no better voice to sing of Christ's birth than the greatest voice ever created by God the Father...Karen Carpenter. That last note shows a glimpse of her vocal power.
Christ was the greatest gift that God ever gave to humanity, and Karen Carpenter's sweet, pure & unpretentious vocals and beautiful spirit was certainly one of the greatest gifts that He gave to our generation. May her heart now be filled with the tremendous joy that her awesome gift left to all of us now in heaven... Love you always and forever Karen.:)
Jesus defeated Satan at the cross. Jesus conquered death and gave us the Greatest gift of everlasting life in Heaven. Praise the Lord. Thank you Jesus. Emanuel. HALLELUJAH to the Lamb of God.
The 15th century French peasants considered Joan of Arc to be an angel too. But angels don't bleed, and angels don't burn to ashes. Joan did both. Saint Michael the Arc Angel called Joan the Daughter of God. "Enfant (Fille) de Dieu". There is something very similar to me about Joan and Karen, and Michael and Richard. Just a coincidence probably. Or perhaps God is pointing people to the fabulous duo Michael and Joan, through the fabulous duo of Richard and Karen. Moses was MORE than a prophet. And Jehanne Sybille Darc (Joan of Arc) was MORE than a prophetess.
Am I the only one who really hears the magical uniqueness of her voice? Does not listening to that voice of hers, send chills up and down every one of your spines?
+Moses Maimon I agree! And, I LOVED your comment. There will NEVER be another Karen. So glad she shared her beautiful talents with the world AND that her music will be here for posterity 💚
+Moses Maimon no Moses, you are anything but the only one. What's more, I have never one heard a word about her which was not prompted by love. To this very day, I feel a sadness in my heart whenever I hear, see or think of her name. May she rest in eternal peace.
Thank you, Lord. for Karen and Richard's talent and Karen's sublime voice. Truly one of the greatest female voices ever. Her music is constantly with me and when she sings sacred music, it is the voice of an angel singing.
I heard this song back in the early 80s and to this day it's my favorite Christmas song. I don't believe anyone could sing it more beautiful than Karen Carpenter. I really miss her.
Listening in the middle of August because this is one of the greatest vocal performances ever. Sometimes she seems to out sing the entire choir. I thank God for Karen Carpenter and the beauty she brings us with her voice
Karen's inner sadness seems to go away when she sings about Jesus. It is so wonderful to see the joy of the Lord in her during Christmas time, evidenced in the Carpenters Christmas songs. Glory to God.
I still have wonderful childhood memories of the Carpenters music and I'm still blessed to have all my records from that time of my life, thank you I'm very blessed to have grown up with hearing the greatest female voice ever, i still listen to Karen she will always have a special place in my heart.
I love and have loved the Carpenters since the early 70's and it pains me to see how skinny she was in everyone of her video's. She used to be a very vibrant young woman and was very talented. There will never be another Karen Carpenter. This is one of my favorite Christmas songs they did. I will always love you Karen.
No1KCfan6 So correct! Sad the dislikes have increased. My fondest childhood AND Christmas memories are of hearing Karen's beautiful voice. Glad you and others appreciate her as well ❤
I recall her brother saying 'the money' was in the basement, and she had a gorgeous lower register, but this videoproves , imho at least, that her lovely god given sounding voice, had plenty of beauty ( money if you want to put it tha way) in the upper one too ;_) we miss you Karen, thank god its here for future generations too.
Karen Anne Carpenter the Queen of Christmas songs, Soft Rock, and anything composed..her voice, range, occutives and unique projection, makes it impossible to copy..God bless, you Karen, and Happy 68th Birthday.
Sing Cosby sang this in THE BELLS OF SAINT MARY's. I was just a little girl, the first time I watched that movie, and cried when he sang this. I grew up to be a singer and it was because of watching musicals on TV as well as loving Al Jolson and Bing Crosby; who had sch unique voices, I knew that I new, I wanted to do that. To sing my heart out. I've sang in Christian Musicals, and there's nothing better then this; knowing that to be a soloist, it's t glory God who bestowed such a wonderful talent upon me:- anointed to sing. To not life myself up, but only JESUS CHRIST; King of Kings and Lord Of Lords. This will always be one of my favourite songs.
The moment I heard this song on the Carpenter's at Christmas TV special in 1977, I fell in love with it. Karen thinks it's so beautifully and is so inspirational. Karen covers religious songs. So beautifully. Love this song
(cont.) but i do cherish the ones that she did record. her voice seems to me to sound especially warm and sweet in their christmas music, as if there's a warm glow surrounding it. oh, well. thanks again.
Thank you very much for posting this great video. I believe Karen's worshipful tone she used here and in singing "Silent Night" is present nowhere else.
No one comes to Jesus Christ except through Joan of Arc and Mary Magdalene. No one comes to the Father except through Jesus Christ. This is the will of both the Father and Son, so that all who honor the Father and Son will honor the Daughter as well.
When Christmas comes each year, I always listen to this song. Decades have passed, and I have never forgotten the memory of buying a Christmas Portrait or the immense sorrow I felt when Karen died. Life is precious and short, and we are so enriched to still have that voice come back to us in all of it plaintiveness, inspiring us to remember what Christmas is all about.
I cant believe how BEAUTIFUL this song is! It really sums up the meaning of Christmas..more than any other carol....the tune ... the words...the way Karen sings ...drives me to tears every time! God keep you Karen....now you sing for Our Lord and his Angels!
Richard and Karen are the best duo since saint Michael the archangel and sainte Joan of Arc (Jeanne d'Arc). "I am the drum upon which God is beating out his message." -- Ste. Joan of Arc
I love to hear anyone sing praise to our Savior Jesus Christ, but it is especially enjoyable to hear it sung with a beautiful voice. And she didn't have to scream the notes out, it just flows from her God-given talent. Many popular singers today have to SCREAM the notes because they don't have a beautiful voice like she had.
Karen is the best female singer who ever lived, PURE MAGIC! people 100 years from now will still be listening to her magical voice. Karen was an angel on earth. :) WE MISS YOU SO MUCH KAREN
Theis may not be really clear picture wise, - but the sound beats the other one I listened to. This makes you feel as if you have died and entered Heaven it is so beautiful! I will always miss Karen so much!
Karen had a voice from Heaven. It's too bad that she couldn't beat the demon in her life, i.e., Anorexia and Bulmia Nervosa. Winter I play music from The Carpenters. I wish Richard would really get involved and active in the plight against ED. I know he was on the Board of ANAD. I struggled with Anorexia and Bulimia Nervosa, dealt with the root cause, and I beat the odds. I've been in recovery 1994's. I've been in advocate since 2003. There's still a lot to to do. ED effects the entire family.
I hear this song every single day at work during the Xmas season and I had no idea that it was Karen until today. I thought the voice sounded familiar, so i checked it out.
Karen sings this like an Angel. It brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. She has the best female voice of all. God bless her in heaven. ❤️🎶❤️🎶❤️🎶🎄✝️
❤ I WILL SHARE MY SIDE OF THE STORY ... I WAS WORKING AT A LAW FIRM AND THE CARPENTERS WERE OUR CLIENTS ... AND AUTOMATICALLY THEY ASK ME TO TAKE LUNCH ORDERS AND THEN I SET UP THE LUNCH ROOM FOR OUR CLIENTS .... THEY WERE SO YOUNG AND SO SLIM TO .... ( BUT THEY NEVER HAD LUNCH AT ALL .... I / WE NEVER SAW THEM EATING NOTHING .... BUT I DO REMEMBER THEIR QUITENESS AND POLITE NESS AND THEY WOULD LEAVE ON TIME .... R.I.P. TO ALL THAT ARE CALL BY THEIR NAMES !!!! PEACE
I came here via having just listened to the Perry Como recording of this same song. I've loved that version since I was a child, and didn't know till today that Karen had recorded it as well. Now I can't decide which I love more. I guess I'll just have to listen to each one many times over. That is no hardship! What blessings excellent singers give us!
12/11/18. !C'est magnifique! I feel a lump in my throat. Written by Ray Charles, too? I'm left speechless......at how even MORE talented some of the greats, who have died, were!!!
Karen makes every song better yes you are right it is her favorite time of the year. Wish she was here now bet she would still be doing christmas specials. Really miss her.
I'm responding to this post from 8 years ago because I heard this song for the first time tonight. Already a huge fan of Karen's voice, that was heavenly & stunning how well she sounded.
There's no better voice to sing of Christ's birth than the greatest voice ever created by God the Father...Karen Carpenter. That last note shows a glimpse of her vocal power.
A bias statement. All must give God praise.
Completely agree! This lady had the greatest voice in music history!
Its the voice of an Angel singing God's story..A gift fromGod
One of her finest vocal performances ever along with the "Ave Maria" from the same album.
I knew it. She had a voice of an angel because she was just a passing visiting angel that God needed back to sing praises to him once again.
I never get tired listening to her singing with so much emotion.. Karen Carpenter had one of the best voices I have ever heard.
Guess I have never seen such a sweet, accurate depiction of Karen. Thanks, only a sweet sould could have seen that!
My favorite singer and my favorite Christmas song Can imagine her singing with the heavenly choir. Be seeing you Karen when I get there. .
God be praised. She sings from her diaphram and she sings wonderfully. Good way to praise God.
No mere human could possess a voice like this. That's it, she WAS an angel!
Effortless perfection. 🎶💕
Best voice ever
Beautifully said Douglas! This lady had or has no equal as a singer!
Am I the only one who really hears the magical uniqueness of her voice? Does not listening to that voice of hers, send chills up and down every one of your spines?
Moses Maimon yes moses, every one of us.never be another karen.

+Moses Maimon
no Moses, you are anything but the only one. What's more, I have never one heard a word about her which was not prompted by love.
To this very day, I feel a sadness in my heart whenever I hear, see or think of her name.
May she rest in eternal peace.
+Moses Maimon Karen is still the gold standard by which I hear all female vocalists. Bar none.
thank you. that sounds like it could have come right out of my own mouth.
Listen to how she holds those notes, terrific!
What a voice she had. She will always be missed.
I cry every time I listen to this song. Karen Carpenter has the voice of an angel. Thank you Karen. God Bless.

MY FAV CHRISTMAS SONG. I CAN LISTEN TO IT ALL YEAR.
A BEAUTIFUL VOICE!!!!!! AN ICON A LEGEND. MUSIC ROYALTY.♥️♥️♥️♥️
Great, great song. Singing Jesus's highest praises.
My all time favorite Xmas song. Karen has the voice of an angel, and I am sure she is still singing.
This still brings tears to my eyes. RIP beautiful Karen 💜
Listening in the middle of August because this is one of the greatest vocal performances ever. Sometimes she seems to out sing the entire choir. I thank God for Karen Carpenter and the beauty she brings us with her voice
That last note is just amazing
This is such a gorgeous song and so beautifully sung and arranged.
2018 here I am enjoying the magic of Karen Carpenters voice.
Happy birthday karen. Your voice is very unique..no one can replace. I love you.
Karen's inner sadness seems to go away when she sings about Jesus. It is so wonderful to see the joy of the Lord in her during Christmas time, evidenced in the Carpenters Christmas songs. Glory to God.
One of my favourite christmas songs. And very beautifully done by one of the greatest singers

she was a very beautiful woman, and that remarkable voice was too much
Karen is praising God in Heaven with this beautiful hymn.
The best singer ever!!!!!
A voice from heaven. She left us far too soon.
I don't understand how anyone can dislike this. 3 people are jerks.
yah. they don't like a beautiful song sung by an exquisitely beautiful voice. go figure. actually, now 7 dislikes. grrrrrrrrr.
No1KCfan6 So correct! Sad the dislikes have increased. My fondest childhood AND Christmas memories are of hearing Karen's beautiful voice. Glad you and others appreciate her as well ❤
Beautiful song , about our Lord and sung by perhaps one of the greatest vocalists ever. Thank you for sharing.

This is my new favorite song! Thank you, Miss Karen Carpenter, you were simply the best!!!!!
Karen signing in Heaven, and Richard playing and orchestrating. Looking forward to hearing that when I'm there one beautiful day...
This is beyond gorgeous, it definitely makes me want to sing the hallelujah Christ is born!! 🙌🙌
The comment below is true. Her voice is so melodious. It brings tears to ones eyes!
Such pureness and perfection. My personal all time favourite female vocalist by far. Much love.
Who would dislike this...
The scientists that claim angels don't exist
Karen Anne Carpenter the Queen of Christmas songs, Soft Rock, and anything composed..her voice, range, occutives and unique projection, makes it impossible to copy..God bless, you Karen, and Happy 68th Birthday.
If Madonna is the Queen of Pop, Karen Carpenter is the Goddess of Pop.
This is absolutely gorgeous.

Superb...never heard this one. So beautiful, so true.
Mankind was truly blessed when God gave Karen her voice.
I believe that God sends us an Angel now and then to uplift us and to give notice He is still there. Karen was an Angel.
(cont.) but i do cherish the ones that she did record. her voice seems to me to sound especially warm and sweet in their christmas music, as if there's a warm glow surrounding it.
oh, well. thanks again.
Truly, the most beautiful voice.
Beautiful, like an ANGEL.
La voix d'un ange qui chante la naissance de Jésus ! Merveilleux !!
never heard this song before. LOVE IT!!! such a beautiful rendition by Karen! Thankyou for posting! Merry Christmas to you!
Thank you very much for posting this great video. I believe Karen's worshipful tone she used here and in singing "Silent Night" is present nowhere else.
Wow in my humble opinion the best voice ever.
God took a few extra minutes on her voice.
Sadly we lost this angel far to soon
So how does someone get close to God. God gives gifts. Karen Carpenter was gifted.
Best Christmas artist, make that best artist of our time.
+Bruce Powell 👍👍👍I agree. It isn't Christmas until I listen to A Christmas Portrait 💚
JOHN 14: 6 "JESUS SAID TO HIM, 'I AM THE WAY AND THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE. NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH ME.' "
Amen!
No one comes to Jesus Christ except through Joan of Arc and Mary Magdalene. No one comes to the Father except through Jesus Christ. This is the will of both the Father and Son, so that all who honor the Father and Son will honor the Daughter as well.

An unparalleled voice like Elvis'. Waiting to hear them once again in heaven
What a beautiful rendition of this song.
Voice was from God and a gift from Heaven.
There will never be another Karen Carpenter, she was the best!
Just beautiful...
Her voice is like a sweet perfume
I cant believe how BEAUTIFUL this song is! It really sums up the meaning of Christmas..more than any other carol....the tune ... the words...the way Karen sings ...drives me to tears every time! God keep you Karen....now you sing for Our Lord and his Angels!
The voice of an angel.
Karen at her finest no other voice even matches there versions of Christmas music is legendary now thank God for cds
Richard and Karen are the best duo since saint Michael the archangel and sainte Joan of Arc (Jeanne d'Arc). "I am the drum upon which God is beating out his message." -- Ste. Joan of Arc
From 2:58 it feels likes she whispers to my soul to wake up, I don't know how to explain it...

As usual a beautiful Christmas Carol sung by a beautiful singer that was beautifully done.
Theis may not be really clear picture wise, - but the sound beats the other one I listened to. This makes you feel as if you have died and entered Heaven it is so beautiful!
I will always miss Karen so much!
Beautiful ...

I weep for her beautiful soul.
The most glorious Christmas song sung by the most glorious voice. RIP, Karen Carpenter.
She was and always will be an angel and has been singing with them and will forever.
There is no greater Christmas song than this performance. It still brings a tear to my eye.
What an inspiring classic by this great group.
I hear this song every single day at work during the Xmas season and I had no idea that it was Karen until today. I thought the voice sounded familiar, so i checked it out.

A heaven sent voice - returned to heaven much too soon.
The greatest female voice, drummer and greatest Christmas ballad singer
and Christmas Portrait is the greatest Christmas album ever created!!!!
This is an angel, Karen, singing to our Lord. I am speechless.
I heard this music several time.Like her a lot. The Carpenters Brothers're high-level.There is no voice equal. Karen was a wonderful woman.
Beyond beautiful ❤️🥹❤️

Oh God, what is that part of my soul that this voice is touching so gently?

I didn't know about Ray Charles. Indeed, great talents together about the greatest Gift.
She was so beautiful. Why couldn’t her mother love her? 😔
What a great time for Our Jesus Christ 🇲🇾😍💚🌲🎄
