    I still want master mode in tears of the kingdom. It was a huge missed opportunity they didn’t add it. Golden enemy’s could had the best looking horns to attach to your weapon. Plus the silver enemies feel too easy for to be the hardest enemy.

      Especially considering how you're basically set for weapons for the rest of the game once you take down a dozen or so silvers. I really like how TotK used fuse to tie high quality weapons to beating stronger enemies, and was a huge step up from destroying a royal broadsword just to get another one... but silver horns combined with weapon abilities like Gerudo or Zora really lets you fuse completely broken (100+ damage) weapons that the game really wasn't designed for. Legit, fuse a silver boko horn to a Zora weapon, and if you can consistently maintain the 'wet' status, you have a weapon able to take down another 6 silver bokos and make another 6 swords. Repeat once or twice and your arsenal is set for the rest of the game.
      At least in BotW they had it where if you wanted to maintain an inventory of high quality weapons, you had to CONSTANTLY fight high tier enemies to make out net-neutral, or you actually had to experiment and get creative with combat (such as using the environment for fall damage or drowing enemies) to get more mileage out of your weapons.

      Yeah but if they handle it like last master mode it’ll just be boring again. Oh no the enemies i already have the muscle memory to never get hit by ever have more health and have regen. That doesn’t make things harder. Every enemy should of had new attacks and behaviors but the only one was the delayed guardian laser.

    • @GamingReinvented
      @GamingReinvented  11 месяцев назад +3

      @@ultimaterecoil1136 Yeah that's definitely an issue unfortunately. Master mode was a pretty bad extra difficulty mode, especially when compared to Master Quest in Ocarina of Time.
      But god I'd love a real hard difficulty mode for TotK at some point. Something that goes almost Relics of the Past style hard with the difficulty increase and new enemies and harder enemies being way more common.

    Honestly, the overall feeling of the story of BotW was better than TotK to me. I can't really explain it properly, but in BotW it felt like Link was truly a part of the world, and you were uncovering bits and bobs along side him. When you met the Champions again, you had an instant connection, and a bittersweet moment after the Divine Beasts. The memories also worked better because they directly involved Link.
    In TotK, it's almost like we're in different dimension. Plenty of NPC's don't recognize Link from things we could have done in BotW (Bolson for example), and we're following a story (Zelda's) that's not ours. We have 0 connection to the ancient Sages, and while it's fun to have the Sages with you they're a bit bland. So for as vast as the world in TotK is, it feels "emptier" emotionally.

    • @GamingReinvented
      @GamingReinvented  11 месяцев назад +3

      NPCs not recognising Link was definitely a mistake in TotK. Like, some do, but they didn't go far enough there, especially with obvious ones like Beedle, Hestu, Bolson, etc.
      And that's a fair point about the emotional aspect. We don't really know anything about the sages, so Link really doesn't have much in common with them to be invested in. There's not much to go off when Link only has a personal connection to Zelda and Rauru.

    totk’s tutorial is also a MAZE (I got lost) compared to the great plateau, while you can go anywhere within the great plateau in BotW, without a specific path, the great sky island you have to go specific paths (such as through caves) in order to get the last shrine.

    • @GamingReinvented
      @GamingReinvented  Год назад +9

      I personally didn't get lost that much on the Great Sky Island, but it's very much a 'you have to go down this path to get to the next area' type of place, which is a huge downgrade from the open nature of the Great Plateau.
      If you can't figure out that path, well then you're just stuck until you do.

    • @froggycolouring
      @froggycolouring 11 месяцев назад +3

      Exactly totk is an open world game, so why would they teach you how to play a linear path in the tutorial?

    • @GamingReinvented
      @GamingReinvented  11 месяцев назад +2

      @@froggycolouring I think it's because they do have a more linear setup for the dungeon intros/story sequences, and thought that would be good for the Great Sky Island too.
      It's just that:
      A. Said dungeon intros/sequences are still way more open about how to play them, since they're set in a world you can explore any which way, and let you use all kinds of tricks and tech to navigate. There's way more freedom in the lead up from Rito Village to the Wind Temple than the Great Sky Island cause of that.
      B. The intro is a bad fit for said gameplay, since it's meant to be more of a taste of the gameplay as a whole, not a linear corridor.

    I will say about the tutorial area I played totk first and finally leaving the great sky islands and seeing the rest of hyrule is definitely the best part of the tutorial, because in botw you were always able to see the rest of hyrule so close and you basically know the place before even leaving the great plateau, but totk you barely even think about it, so getting there and realizing theres a whole other world from the sky islands with new enemies is very cool
    It only works however if you haven’t played botw before because you’d already know what to expect, so botw’s tutorial area is still far better

    • @GamingReinvented

Also it wouldn’t make sense if an advanced civilisation had a cloth glider. For the champion/sage abilities I think sages are way better. 1. Is that the silver enemies dont drop off loot like they used to. I kill a silver bokoblin I'm botw and I get one of the gems from rubies, topaz, sapphires and diamonds. In totk they dropped none of it and instead from their parts. That's what killing silver enemies worth it.
    2). They nerfed the prices of gems. In botw rubies were 210 per piece and now 110. Luminous was 70 and now they were nerfed to 20.

    Ruby 110
    Sapphire 150 I think

    I like Totk's starting area more, yes it does make you use your ability's to travers. But the abilitys in totk are just more advanced in the first place to where a tutorial is needed. For example, if you didn't have to cross the lake using ultrahand when you got your battery, then how long do you think it would take some players to learn the battery. I don't mind the arrow fuse system too much, since the most common items end up at the front of "most used", but it could clearly have been WAY better. They could have kept elemental arrows on the fuse menu, with an up-down scrolling list to choose exactly what you wanted to use to MAKE that arrow, for example.
    The only one I really hate is the Sage Powers. They work well enough outside of combat when using them to mine ores, keep cool in the desert, or glide, but they're a pain to use in combat. They could have all been a simple button press based on context such as "push button while building a charge attack to activate Yunobo, same button while blocking for Sidon, while aiming for Riju, etc. Maybe give them a longer cool down when activated that way if it's too spammable.

      But I do wish they didn't drop like a ton of BoTW weapons in the process. All the unique Lynel weapons are gone, many of the Boko ones are gone, Windcleavers are gone, the Spring Loaded Hammer is gone...
      If they had both all the unique weapon types and Fuse, it'd be great.

    I usually just have Riju and Tulin with me. I feel like you can kind of mix Riju's lightning strikes as part of your "combos" (if you're the kind of player who likes mix-ups in the middle of a fight) and Tulin because he gets those headshots.

    One thing that i wanna put is the master sword : upon completing the dlc you get the best weapon in the game with very good damage and the highest durability in the entire game, the master sword gets its unique glowing look and feels powerful to use. Now in totk its a sword that can fuse like all others, yeah sure it has more damage potential (30 base damage + 55 lynel horn) but it lacks the durability and uniqueness it had in botw. So it feels less useful because you have to waste a ressource for a lot of damage for the master sword, and the blade loses its iconic look upon fusing and its not as durable as it once was, in a way when using the master sword in totk i don't feel like a true hero like in botw anymore. For me i believe botw was outright better than Totk, not just relatively to what both game brought new compared to each others but that botw just did it way better in so much more ways.

    • @GamingReinvented
      @GamingReinvented  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, the durability upgrade would be nice. And given the Master Sword actually does upgrade around Gloom enemies and during the final battle, they could have easily added a Trial of the Sword equivalent to provide that effect permanently.

  • @Sugurain
    @Sugurain 11 месяцев назад +2

    Tha faeries.
    And with that, upgrading your inventory.
    That worked flawlessly in BotW, but in Tears it's just a nuisance, almost impossible to fully upgrade any set.
    However my biggest gripe with TotK is the removal of Kass, I loved hearing the accordion in the distance, and also really enjoyed his shrine quests.
    Tears has the stable trotters(for musicians) and Penn(for quests), both fail miserably to replace Kass. I hoped they had removed him so he could come back in a DLC. So you can imagine how angry/sad I was when they announced there wasn't going to be one.
    The absolute absence of sheika tech is a major downgrade, yes the ancient horse set is missing but SO IS THE MASTER CYCLE, and this is a vehicle that cannot be mimicked in speed and agility with constructs!

    • @GamingReinvented
      @GamingReinvented  11 месяцев назад +1

      Oh I miss Kass for sure. Penn is great and I did like the Stable Trotters, but Kass was such a cool character in BoTW, and it's so weird seeing him completely absent here.
      Fairy wise I'm honestly kinda mixed about. Personally I think both games kinda messed up there, since the upgrade process is boring as hell. Oh neat, you get a cutscene for each upgrade level. But it's for each level per armour piece, and with like a hundred of them... yeah, it gets old fast in both BoTW and TotK.
      Fairy fountain quests are something I think TotK did better at first, and BoTW probably did better later on. First time you play, they're neat. Third, fourth or fifth time? You probably just wish you could spend money to do it.

    This is a personal one, just a thought I'd like to share. I absolutely LOVED the atmosphere of BOTW than TOTK. The story telling was beautiful and intricate, there is literally nothing that I can find in BOTW that annoys me! While TOTK could be done better in some areas. I will not lie, I was disappointed at TOTK for... I dunno! It had a different atmosphere that was nice, you were not alone like in the last game, you had friends. But it just seems so... weird? But both games are amazing. I feel like TOTK won in the terms of the way it ended and BOTW won it the terms of the experience. There was so much mystery and lore in BOTW, I thought that there could've been some lore for the depths and Zonai as well. I wanted to learn about these ancient people, and understand what the depths were. There could've been another race that lived in the depths too, interacting with the Zonai that came for the Zonaite down there! But both games are amazing, I just wish TOTK was a bit more polished and had more lore.

    • @GamingReinvented
      @GamingReinvented  10 месяцев назад +2

      Your point about not seeing more of the Zonai and their lore is a very good one. It's disappointing how in a game meant to make them prominent, we only see get to see two Zonai in the entire title, one of which is dead by the main story and one which survives as a ghost inside a mech. I would have imagined we'd encounter at least a few more, right?
      And it's definitely weird that the Sky and Depths have literally no towns or NPCs in, barring the Yiga, a few Constructs and a few Zonai Survey Team members that only appear during one quest.

    • @lupoyo
      @lupoyo 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@GamingReinvented Yes! I don't exactly know why but Nintendo didn't really do much with the lore. It felt like they wanted to upgrade the mechanics more. I read some other comments and they mentioned how emotionless this game is, along with the fact that nobody remembers you! I was ready to hear people talk to me as the Hero of Hyrule. Back in BOTW, nobody knew that or our connection with the princess, not even many of the prominent characters. I feel like only the Zora knew who we were. It was frustrating honestly. And its even more frustrating seeing no one acknowledging our status, even the Sages! Nothing was mentioned about what happened in the time gap between BOTW and TOTK.
      Another frustrating thing is how fast the Sheikah tech just vanished, like not a single trace except the Hateno Research Lab. I would've liked to hear about how they brought it to Purah to recycle it or even some mention about it! It was a big thing that vanished without much talk about it, we were left to connect to pieces. I feel disappointed at TOTK for this, but it still is a great game no matter what. I guess the fun mechanics make up for it? My feelings are very mixed and biased, even more so because BOTW was my first Zelda game.

    These are all great criticisms, but I’m surprised that you didn’t mention how TOTK removed the ability to see true HP numbers. There were a total of five pieces of armor which gave you that ability in BOTW, and since we now have all of those plus the new Champion’s Leathers, that would in theory make it a total of six armor pieces which should let you visualize HP, yet none of them (nor any other armor pieces) work. Looking through other videos, it seems like damage multipliers aren’t as straightforward this time around as they were in BOTW, but I don’t think that’s enough justification for having removed that ability altogether.
    Also, no Master Mode (or at least golden enemies in the base game) or Trial of the Sword. The reason why the Master Sword feels so weak in this game is that there aren’t enough situations where it gets powered up, so this kind of stems from the fact that Gloom Spawn aren’t as common as Guardians, as you said in the video. The fact that there won’t be DLC for this game to add these things (unless they’re playing 4D Chess with us) really makes me sad since Master Mode is where I spent most of my time in BOTW and also gave me a second save file on my main account. As it stands right now, I don’t feel like deleting my day 1 save file to start over (as much as I would like to), nor do I want to do it on a secondary account. I just don’t understand why they wouldn’t add these things for TOTK since they felt essential in BOTW the moment we got them.

      Honestly, I would have included the HP number point, but kinda forgot. It is ridiculous it's not present though.

    I agree with everything you just said, but i think you've missed 1 more point (you could have replaced this with the ancient hore armor), and the fact is that Breath of the Wild has more replayability. BOTW is a smaller game, and you can do various challenges when you decide to hit the new game button, such as:
    1, all quest play
    2, permadeth play
    3, no champion abilites play
    4, master mode (I've just started my 1st one, because i bought the 2 DLCs in a bundle after 6 years XD).
    In TOTK after I completed all 60 side adventures, 139 side quests and all the shrines I don't have the willpower to press the new game button. I beat it once and left it there. However I would gladly start a new game in BOTW a few month later as well.

    • @GamingReinvented
      @GamingReinvented  11 месяцев назад

      That's an interesting point, especially given TotK seems designed to make certain BoTW challenges more plausible (no Paraglider for example).
      But the sheer length of TotK can definitely make it exhausting to replay for sure

    Probably controversial, but I actually like needing to get the stuff you want for elemental arrows, rather than allowing players to be lazy pieces of sh*t, it encourages you to go out and explore the map. Also, the "Glooms Lair" doesn't feel like a random cave, you're literally going to the depths of the castle-

    For most of them you're comparing irrelevant things, like the old man, guardians, etc. the storyline has changed making those things irrelevant, so this video makes no sense. BOTW didnt do them better, it's what they have that totk doesn't have anymore. for shrine quests etc are your opinion which I won't argue on. but the other things are like me making a 15 min video saying the fusing in totk is better than fusing in botw, see? it isn't in botw which you cant compare to in totk, and vice versa to the other points.

    Story is bad, Fs with pre-established key lore aspects, absolutely shatters all the Master Sword's reputation, unga bunga buff Dorf with little to no ambition other than "me strongest there is" uninteresting, nearly everyone forgot who you were despite this game taking place a mere 4-6 years after Wild, Rauru existing is an insult, no Fi, no breaking of the Demise curse despite it being falsely hinted being the case what with all the Skyward Sword PR this game got (I distinctly remember Skyward Sword being advertised as heavily linked to TotK somehow which, again, is misleading as on Nintendo's part), no dog petting, no hookshot spiderman swinging with the physics being suuuuch a driving factor in these newer Zelda games, no underwater exploration instead a damp dark smelly overgrown cave can't see jack, COLLOSAL missed opportunity to hitch the princess with her handsome knight in shining armor, no stakes since Zelda's sacrifice was reversed giving the story little to no agency or consequence, Link as a protagonist felt nonexistent feels like everyone else was the star of the show not the guy who's saving all their 🫏s, no Link backstory before any of this went down aka no Arryl 2 or Granny 2 aka NOT WIND WAKER, didn't make me cry like Twilight Princess, dungeons are STILL NOT dungeons (pulling a couple levers to open a door and then be treated with literally the same copy-paste cutscene at the very end with each champion? Yeah naw), sky islands hardly anything worth noting although they are pretty asf to look at, I was expecting a totally NEW revamped endgame super Saiyan master sword golden tier 4 legendary new hilt new everything but naw same design with a booboo scar and hilariously less powerful... hoverbike autobuild pales in comparison to THE Master Cycle
    As a game, sure, it's leagues above BotW but BotW will never be topped as a one-in-a-lifetime *experience*
    TotK was an overblown $70 DLC and I'm tired of pretending it's not. Mid.

    • @GamingReinvented

      Horses are definitely less useful in TotK, and it's a shame because BoTW already made them fairly useless as is. The games are just too big, too open ended and too easy to fast travel to make them worth using for the most part.
      And scrapping the ancient horse armour without a Zonai equivalent was a very dumb move indeed.

    I personally enjoyed BOTW a lot more than TOTK. TOTK is just... kinda boring. The temples and cut scenes tied to them are extremely repetitive, the game is littered with continuity errors from the previous game (BOTW), it's annoying as all hell that so many NPCs don't remember Link even after he saved or built their entire town, it's too easy to get the tear geoglyph memories in an order that completely spoils the story, Ultrahand is gimmicky and clunky and has way too short a range, and my final gripe... the sages abilities suck!
    Bonus gripe: The house building is terrible! But as this is unimportant to the actual game and completely optional, I didn't include it with my main gripes.
    Also... I really miss guardians! They were so scary and so fun and nothing in TOTK even compares! Some people try to say the Gloom Spawn is to replace the guardians, but the gloom spawn, while initially very scary looking, is actually rather pathetic once you actually try to fight it.
