Reassuring that it can even happen to someone of this caliber! David Tennant is always brilliant, as Crowley, Hamlet, Davida, Benedic, Peter Vincent, Macbeth, etc……
And on another performance of Romeo and Juliet, David got nicked with a sword after fighting Paris and bled all over a sleeping/dead Juliet - unknown to her until she woke up with a blood soaked white dress! Would love to know what Shakespearean improve David pulled out of his repertoire🎭
I was playing ms. Paroo in music man, and the guy playing the lead accidentally called me by a different character. I don't remember the name, ms. Something. Basically I corrected him onstage and he started floundering, started flattering and saying he was distracted by my beauty, perfectly in character. I just played along and it worked out. The second night he said it wrong again, and I corrected him onstage again. This time he had a more convincing response, that he was just talking to the other lady, which i think he was, i don't remember. But then the final night he messed up again! I corrected him again, and he gave the same response from the previous night. We played it off well enough my mom thought we planned it together.
Only david tennant could improvise Shakespeare so well not a single critic would notice

The doctor
Casanova
That’s what I was taught in theater, if we sound convincing enough no one will notice because most that will watch the play haven’t seen it before 😅
But Shakespeare? Theater critics would have seen it umpteen times as he said...only a very wonderful actor could have pulled this off.
David Tennant makes life a bit better 😊
Well, he met Shakespeare a couple of times 😆🥰

What does dried mean?
When an actor "dries", it means their mind goes blank and they forget their lines.
Hundreds of time? DOZENS anyway!
Sometimes I forget to flush.
Nasty 😫
