CORRECTION: So it looks like my big error on this video is that OPR does indeed have a RUclips channel. I said it didn't because while making the video I went to RUclips, typed "One Page Rules" in the search, and got pages of fan channels. I couldn't actually find it without going through those fan channels. Crazy.

A bit late, but on social media, generally search for "onepagerules" and not "one page rules." although even with that search their channel is halfway down the page because of algorithms. "OPR" also often works, but not as reliably.

No competitive scene is a bonus for OPR in my opinion. When GW started catering exclusively to the competive scene it went down hill quick and I don't see them changing course any time soon, even though they try to pay lip service to "narrative" play.

I went to a game store not in my city but a nearby city and they actually had 3d printers as a service at the store. They had a bunch of STL files available for fantasy stuff mostly for table top rpgs etc but they also allowed you to provide the stl files and pay the print fee as long as the files were supported. More expensive per than having your own printer but still much cheaper per model than most Games Workshop characters / unique models.

"Noobie gets crushed" was the same thing happened to me with Magic the Gathering. I bought a few decks the other player in a club asked what it was. I was truthful, and he pulled out a deck from a dufflebag that was a perfect counter to my deck. While we played he talked about how this card which had an entire different mechanic I know about, and was banned from tournament play. But I didnt think of it until after the game. I played a small tournament that had a draft later on and made a huge upstart knocking out the expected championship, I left on a high note and never played it again.

My wife wants to set up a 'sealed deck' style league for OPR at a local store.
By 'sealed deck' she means using the random army generator that OPR's Army Forge offers - players generating a 1,000 point army, printing and pinting it, then having at. Every player having a chance to play every other player - no elimination.

I'm torn on it. I mean, I require anyone who wants to play on the channel to have at least a tabletop standard, and painted armies always look better. It's necessary to get the lazy veteran players to paint stuff, buy I'd want to make some wiggle room for newbies. Before I started filming batreps the rule in the kingdom was "if they aren't fully painted and based you can play them that one time, but you have to have done work on them before you can play them again, not necessary fully done, but more than they were the last time."

A couple of people already commented on this, but I'm wondering how do you support your local FLAGS while playing OPR?
The idea of A FLAG setting up 3d printers is fantastic, but so many others are bound to GW as the base $$$ of miniature games I feel like I'm not supporting them by playing OPR ( even though I prefer OPR as a miniature battle system to Gw's) . For many of us FLAGs are our only source for the wargaming community.

Good question. I still buy paints and hobby supplies, as well as terrain. And while I do 3D printing for OPR, I still buy models for my other armies. They end up a mix of GW, 3D, and other 3rd party. My dwarf army for example has all 3 in it.

Really appreciate this series and your thoughtful examination of the many aspects of each topic.
OPR has come a long way in a short time of building a base of customers that like thier products, business practices, and want to play thier games not just because they are the only game around or the only one, they can find players for. I hope that the community of players continues to grow and keeps providing an alternative for people looking to actual play wargames that does not require a massive expenditure of time and money just to get to the point where you can play a game at the recommended point value.
Everybody should play whatever game they find fun, but I don't think a lot of people who play GW games, have enthusiastically chose it on its merits. Rather I think lots of GW players don't know other options exist or can't get anyone in thier circle to play something else. For many GW players they are operating under the assumption that GW's predatory business model, clunky rules, and high cost of entry/maintenance is just the "fun tax" they have to pay to enjoy thier hobby.

I would ad a point that you didn't mention.
Some OPR video created by contents creators are sponsored, like the one from Goobertown and Dave.
Some GW video created by contents creators are given material in preview via an content creator.
Both are advertised content for the companies, both tell the creator what to say and what not, both give some benefits to the creator via direct payment or free products BUT both aren't treated equally on the platforms like social media, blogs or RUclips. One have to say "includes paid promotion" the other one don't.
Personally I don't care much because I am somehow able to restrain myself to compulsory buying (except for kill team bundle boxes😅) but it is morally and legally discutable why should one tell it and not the other.
Please apologize for my English, if my point is not clear enough I would be pleased to reformulate.

That's a good point. If you get to the point that you're getting tons of free stuff from GW your opinion of their costs will change because you aren't paying them. But as for being told what to say, check out Brett from Goobertown's review of the AoS box set. He completely made fun of it even though GW gave him the box for free. Either there was some backlash that we don't know about, or Brett just didn't care, but he certainly didn't give them much advertising in that video.

and 3D models by 4k DPI or 8k+ mono are just as good / if not better than GW's injection molding models which are always "out of stock"
    BUT
OPR is anti horde and more of an Elite combat mode
I play Imperial Guard ( not Astra Militarum wanker doodle crap-o-la )
I can put up 350 painted Guardsman on the table
Most Orc players can do the same with "Green Tide"
Nid players can do the same with Hormagaunts swarm
An elite Army looses so many "action" phases that if using Secondaries they will lose of not tabled
    BUT
An elite army will crush a horde army at OPR's 1000'pts/ 2000pts limits
GW's Astra Militarum Combat Patrol = 1950 points in OPR
Agreed it takes a different way of think , but in it's own way OPR is unbalanced by size and Not faction
