From the Other Side

I wrote this song about myself and about my friends on the right and on the left.
Lyrics below:
I don’t care what political side you’re on
You need to understand that we’re mostly doing it wrong
We’re fighting and we’re shouting and drowning in our pride
When we don’t love the people from the other side.
If you say you love Jesus, is it true?
When you hate everyone who doesn’t think like you?
If we say we follow Jesus, our sin we cannot hide
When we do not love the people from the other side.
It is hard when someone does not agree
To remember that they’re human, they’re just like you and me
But it’s not ok to hate them, it’s not like Christ crucified
For Jesus loved the people from the other side.
So, let’s try to be like Jesus when He was crucified
And remember we’re the people from the other side.

A thought-provoking song. I think that politics is becoming more polarised and aggressive, throughout the world. A good song, well performed!

This song is my little reminder for ALL Christians (on the right or the left) to not lose sight of who we're following, regardless of what is happening in the political world around us.
