That opening monologue... I know it's exactly how not to live, but it's so tempting to sink into it. "I'll find a way thru my depression instead of going around it. If I dive deep enough, I'll find the drain plug at the bottom... right?" So clever. The urge to stop fighting against it, because you're so tired of fighting, but still too scared to die; so you look for the middle path (Buddha would be so proud), and you try to reason with it, hold it's hand and see if, unlike anything else you've tried, if depression has an answer in it, buried, hidden away waiting for you to just start digging... Only to find that depression lies, like you always knew it would, like they always told you; that the hole at the bottom is unplugged, it's wide open and filling up, not draining out.
Being someone who grew up in the Midwest that is now stuck in some fuckass countryside town I’ve really got to say this stuff brings me comfort when I need it. I’ve been in a transition phase with my life lately so I just find myself listening to music to pass time. Lots of good music! Excited for more!
mn native here too, have you listened to anything by fend or oister boy? a friend of mine is in oister boy and I saw fend at one of their shows. Both have some pretty good music.
