I remember the media making it all worse with “break up” instead of “on a break”. I also remember with love that JK came on live two days later, saying he was worried about us and wanted to reassure us they weren’t disbanding. Then he got really humorous, defending the exaggerations about the mattresses etc. Followed by an awesome hour of JK karaoke in his kitchen 😆. Hybe’s share prices began to recover from that live, after they had plunged following the airing of this Festa 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I think in regard to the 'not being able to share everything' with us, we have to remember that it's not just ARMY listening when BTS speaks. It's the media, it's investors, it's antis and nay-sayers, it's other labels, hell, it's politicians. So they simply can't share everything, no matter how much they might want to. It is an unfortunate part of the life and job that the members have. We see it time and time again, that people take what the guys say and misconstrue it or misinterpret it and it's not just media. We see fans argue about interpretations of something that was said, often as well. So I completely understand that they can't be 100% transparent all the time and as a fan, I don't expect them to tell me everything.

    • @rhythmelia
      @rhythmelia 11 месяцев назад +6

Exactly, well said! Plus the members have said multiple times (like Jin when he was promoting on Nothing Much Prepared drinking chitchat show) that they don't want to show fans their negative emotions, and worries and stresses, and messiness, and only show their good qualities, and how that wears on them sometimes too...

@@rhythmelia Yes & it's easy to understand that they've felt this way, when they were, for years, woeking so hard to try to build a truly unsurpassed, ultra devoted fan base like the ARMYS they did gather through opening up & allowing themselves to be nearly constantly on camera in some capacity.
Having invested so much of their time, energy, talent, passion & drive along with all the money BIGHIT had put into them, at that point, they knew how much was riding on their music & popularity; so they HAD to be VERY aware of their image & SO careful of what they'ld say. When one word you speak can be the cause/reason for a company's stock price to plummet, possibly costing your OWN self & the co.'s investors millions of diollars; I can't imagine how tough it is to just BE them, with all that on their shoulders. Lately though, I'm seeing more & more that they've realized they don't have to walk on egg shells or be so worried about offending us or shocking us or not being perfect because there are FEW things on the list of things they could do that would cause us to not support them, adore them, be there for them. They don't need any MORE approval I think, from the world, lol, they've pretty much got it, hands down.

John, they kept saying "We can't share everything with our fans" Because they couldn't talk about military service yet, we didn't know they were already planning to enlist, that was the huge thing they couldn't talk about and we got the news months later, but now we know, and we know they'll be back in 2025 💜

@@subobing3551 oh yeah he prepared so much when he didn't have to at all. I'll always be grateful and my love and respect for Jin (all the tannies in general) just keeps on growing if that's even possible given how much they mean to me, how much they have given me and I have been with them at this point for so many years it's hard to remember a time when they weren't this heartwarming presence in my life.
I only mentioned that time and what a wreck I was for awhile because after the Busan concert high and the lowkey post concert depression I had (even tho I wasn't there myself in person lmaoo) and the announcement for his enlistment 1-2 days after it just felt like it wasn't real,,,,,and now we know how this goes and know what to expect and in some ways we can handle these feelings better but I still gotta say it doesn't stop hurting like a b/tch every time we have to send them off to the military ☹️ With Hoseok too it was just miserable and Yoongi is coming up to go too sometime in September/October so that's fun (no it's not fun at all and I'll be standing on the edge of a cliff with one foot in the air when it's his time to go😭😂🤪🤪). Just this part I hate and will never stop being bitter about when it comes to chapter 2 that they have to be separated for something they have no control over, they just have to do, it's their duty and I absolutely understand why it's necessary but imma still go through the 5 stages of grief every time another one of them goes in though😆🫡🫡🤝
As for every other part in relation to chapter 2??!?? Ohhh I love it here, it's been a blast and I love every moment, love all the music all that they have been working on/have released, all the growth as humans and as musicians that they have been doing. I can't wait for Layover and Jungkooks album to release officially too and next year for Jin to start working on his album when he is a free man from June 2024 onwards etc. There r so many good things coming it's just a matter of time and all we have to do is sit back and enjoy the ride🫂🫂💜

I've only watched the beginning part of this video, but you asked about where they were in their solo projects at this time.
    * Hobi: At one point of this FESTA, it was mentioned that Hobi was going through a lot. I think at this time he was stressing out about his album release and his Lollapalooza performance. He said he worked on his album for one month after their LA concert, so it was already done at this point.
    * Jimin: He started working on his album after they returned from Las Vegas (April).
    * Namjoon and Yoongi: They're constantly working on their music.
    * Jin: He said here he would be the last one to release an album (meaning, after his service), because he already planned to enlist soon.
    * Taehyung: It seems to me that at this time he already had enough songs to create an album, but in his driving vlog he said he hadn't recorded any song (I guess he'd only done demos), and a couple of months later he said he'd scrapped his album and was starting from scratch, which I guess led to the current album.
    * JK: I think he was also working on his album at this time, but then later on he said in a live that he was putting his work on pause and was enjoying his time off. We know from Suchwita that "Seven" was what got him to start working on music again.

Some context on the timeline of this Festa dinner 2022:
It was pre-recorded sometime in May 2022.
Before they went to the White House (but after it was already announced)
Before JITB and Lolla was announced (but Jhope had already completed the album)
Before Left and Right. (In fact JK and Charlie Puth's song was the first solo activity that was announced after this dinner)
Before military enlistment announcement - that was one day after the Busan concert in October 2022.
    After PTD Vegas and Grammy's
After they opened their individual IG accounts.
They were also at this time considering doing the Busan concert, but it was not decided yet. I think it hinged on Jin's enlistment, which he actually planned to do in July, but postponed in order to be with the group for the Busan concert. This is also why Jin doesn't talk much during this dinner video - apparently a lot of it was edited out, since the planned military enlistment didn't get announced yet.

I also was a relatively new ARMY when this happened. I was like: I just found you! Please don't leave! I was so envious of people who had known them for years. But of course Yoongi says BTS debuts for us when we find them. And ARMY would say: you find them when you need them. So they debuted for me later and boy, did I need them.
After this Festa, I consoled myself by saying, I'll get through all their prior content while they're away. HAHAHAHA. I've been very busy since then, feels like every week there is so much going on! They really planned it out to help us not be too despondent.
I do think there will be at least 6-8 months where activity is low when the last member goes for military service. Although the way they're surprising us with pre-recorded content, we may still be busy then!
(Meanwhile, their example of taking time for their spirits to heal and refresh is one I took to heart, making big changes in the last year. I feel like their songs were the soundtrack of my life this year, keeping me on the path to more balanced life.)
The sincere men of BTS definitely have my blessing! Apo Bangpo!

Thank you for your reaction, John. Whew! Even with all we know seeing it now, I still get all soppy for our guys. One thing of course that they couldn't talk about was their military service and it must have been so stressful especially for Jin to keep quiet about that. Even if we assume that they filmed this FESTA dinner well ahead of the 9th anniversary (say, May?) at the time of filming Jin would have already asked Chris Martin for his farewell love song to ARMY, maybe would have started working on the recording and planning the mv. At the time when this aired, I was first shocked and grieving at the first mention of "hiatus" and already expecting this desert without "my boys". But as they kept talking I started feeling better; I hung on to the fact that they were talking about finding themselves and doing solo work and I was like "there you go, they're not going to totally disappear". I was actually reassuring my friends who were fellow fans, pointing to Jack in the Box and Lolla, plus the discussion on solo work. Beyond understanding and trusting the members, we should have kept the great strategist Bang PD in mind and trusted that he would not let our treasures be damaged. Of course, even before Hobipalooza, we got shirtless Jin showing off his "7" tattoo and starting off Chapter 2 in the most unexpectedly delightful way. 13 June 2024 seems such a long way away but time does pass and it will be wonderful to see Jin at the 11the anniversary FESTA. Even if all he does is go live and say hello once again to ARMY, it will make ARMY so happy.

I saw this as soon as it was broadcasted and im not exaggerating when i say Armys across the globe totally lost it. Irrespective of the time zones every1 was crying and almost unconsolable but most of us not bcoz we thght they r diabanding but bcoz how they kept enduring all the stress for yrs throughout pandemic. We cried bcoz they were in pain and couldnt share that with us, and they had so much going on in their minds but they made pandemic bearable for us, they made us happy wen we needed them even if it meant putting themselves on the backseat. We cried coz Joon cried. We cried coz Joon said sorry to us for taking a more than well needed break and felt guilty about it. We cried coz we couldnt go to them personally and say on behalf of Armys that its ok, dont feel guilty, u r not doing anything wrong to us, go do what u want we will always be there 2 support all 7 members.....and did i say we cried coz Joon cried...i mean its kinda bearable if the maknaes cry but its the end for us wen any of the hyungs tear up esp Joon. I personally cried for hours and i am almost 40yrs old who has gone through ups n downs of life. The disbandment news were making it worse for us not bcoz we believed it but bcoz it was annoying and frustrating as hell to fight with social media while trying to calm self.
I think we got better wen next day Joon wrote long weverse letter slamming media and haters for spreading false news of disbandment....we got super angry at the media and that probably helped convert our tears to anger 😂. And ofcourse JK the sweetest bun came live to very clearly repeat no one is disbanding and he doesnt have as many matresses and that he can wash dishes while singing 😂. What a time that was. I cried even today watching them cry. Along with 2018 Mama awards, this dinner party can make me cry 100% times.

I remember when this was released i was so excited and i had so many emotions going on all at once. It was fun hearing their memories and making jokes. But by the end it started with Jimin and when Namjoon started crying i lost it. It has been awhile since i has seen this again and I am crying again. It is hard to see them crying like this. Than the media, geez it was carzy. My mom actually asked me about and when i went to visit my brother he was also like "so i hear BTS is breaking up" he was rude though. More like just making a statement. But by that time we had more info about the solo projects and enlistment, so i ended up explaining what was going on...haha anyway, it was an emotional watch. To answer Jimin's question about being ARMY. To me it is trusting them and supporting them with whatever they decide to do. I have been enjoying all their solo projects and can't wait for Tae's album and JK'S album to be released. Watching this Festa was the first and only time I've ever cried over something BTS related. Every morning I wake up I search BTS and I remember seeing a bunch of news articles about BTS announcing their "hiatus". I was heartbroken because I was still holding onto hope that they would do a small tour before enlisting and as someone who had been waiting years to see them live after their last tour was cancelled due to the pandemic the news hit me like a ton of bricks. It was the realization that a tour wasn't going to happen anytime soon and that military enlistment was happening sooner rather than later. And trust me I completely understand they were exhausted and needed a well deserved break, but I just didn't know exactly what the future would hold. I knew BTS wasn't disbanding (despite how the American media portrayed it as a break up) and I was excited for their solo albums, but it was this realization that things for at least the next few years things would be different and I've never been the one to deal with change well. I loved how honest they were in this Festa and didn't hold back their feelings. I've loved seeing all their different solo endeavors and of course all their solo music. It also calmed me down knowing that they planned to reunite in 2025 and not deciding to stretch out their enlistment over possibly 7 years. I was also honored to attend Suga's solo concert back in May (one of the best nights of my life). I'm so proud of them and I can't wait to see what more they have for us before they enlist. BTS asked us to trust them and that's what I'm going to do and I promise I will still be here in 2025 and I will be saving up my money for the comeback tour.

This second time watching, I noticed both RM & Suga also saying they were out of musical ideas.🫥 Oh no! That worried me a lot. But in fact these 2 have written/composed & performed so much music since then.🤔😊 I do think if they had all said at this festa that enlistment was coming, that would have made my understanding better/easier. I did know what a hiatus really was, but I just knew everything was going to change, and I didn't know how. I felt that I had missed out on everything there was to be ARMY and I felt very selfish. Little did I know they would start the military rotations and that chapter two would be so exhausting with new music dropping all of the time, along with the modeling, acting, shows, Lollapalooza and a concert tour. In a lot of ways watching this the second time has been a lot more emotional and heart wrenching for me than it was the first time around because I am still quite new army. I didn't discover them until September 2022. It was such a strange time to become army because after I heard PTD and was like OMG who are these guys? and I fell down the rabbit hole the first things I found online were 'BTS breakup' 'BTS going solo' 😐looking back now it's like - can you imagine that? Finding a band that you are super intrigued by and think you could really love only to be told they've literally just broken up (even if it was untrue- I didn't know that at the time.)
Of course the more I watched videos and found out more about them I stumbled across this Festa dinner video and I watched it - at the time it was like a pleasant surprise that they were not broken up - but a lot of what they said didn't have as much impact for me because I didn't know them and love them yet like I do now. So it was very bittersweet watching this the first time for sure, but this time around even with the eyes of now as John put it, it was really upsetting to see them all cry like that and talk about taking time apart. I didn't get to experience any group comebacks, group livestreams, group interviews, group music show awards as they were released - I only had what had come before. I am loving all their solo albums and promotions so so much - and when they re-group in 2025 it's going to be so special - I'm going to be so emotional.🥲 Sorry for the long ramble 😅💜💜

Its about military enlistment. At the time they recorded it the govt was still debating about military exemption, thats why they probably cant talk about it yet. They recorded it I think early June bec they were at the white house on May 31. I believe that since the govt keep on talking about their exemption, during the presscon they held in Apr while in Vegas just before the concert, one of the company officer requested the govt to make their final decision because bts and bighit found it hard to make decisions regarding their career. I think the govt said by the end of apr they might give the decision. But they did not, Jin said he wanted to enlist in summer but they were requested to do the Busan concert. That is why 2 days after the concert Jin requested for the termination of his military extension.

The next day JK came on for an epic live to talk to us and calm us down and tell us they were Not breaking up, just doing solo stuff etc.. phew!! The collective sigh of relief from ARMY was palpable. I think though ARMY and BTS are stronger and closer than ever. It’s been another point of bonding for them to realize we are here for them always and to see our support. 💜

I think there will be a day that one of them will announce he's in a relationship. And I think it will be RM (he's the leader, the bravest about feelings in his lives). He once joked about it in his lives that he wants a girlfriend. I believe there's some truth in it. They all must feel lonely sometimes and long for a significant other. They have the age for it. I guess they will not wait till they're 50 to start a family, if they want one. It will cause a storm but ARMY has to be aware that in 2025, in exeption of JK, they will be 30 and older. They're not boys anymore but grown men and are human beings with feelings. And the military will make them mature even more. No hate please, it's just my perception

Glad you got to finally watch this. When I watched it the first time - a couple of days after it dropped, I was so proud of them. They knew this was not what ARMY was expecting and wasn't it Suga who tried to keep them on track as to what they needed to talk about. This was so hard for them but they did it like the men they had become. And they were finishing moving out. Tying up the loose ends of Chapter 1. Yes. Jhope already had his album ready and I think it was shortly after this that he was announced to be headlining at Lollapalooza. Also On at Grand Central Station for the Tonight Show was one of their last performances before the pandemic hit.
Couldn't watch the whole stream but caught most of your live stream on twitch. A couple of notes not sure all of this got answered already but - this dinner was done in May most ARMY believe, before they went to the White House. Busan was being discussed but they decided and possibly all were not in agreement (this info is from one of Jin's lives before going into the military. He cleared up some things ARMY wondered about - so helpful) to not say anything about the military, though they were hinting at it if you were "listening", they already had the plan and were going no matter what the government did. They didn't say anything about the military because it was decided that they did not want themselves and ARMY crying the whole time at Busan. They wanted to end with a hopefulness.
The Mcountdown, Inkigayo, and Music bank performances were done in like a 24 hour period. There are also interview segments too. At one of these Jimin fell asleep standing up! They knew this would be the last time they would be on these shows and with ARMY like this until after the military, so yeah it was emotional. it was cool that they also got to perform at the Fact music awards too as that would be the last award show they would perform at as BTS too until done with the military.

I thought I will not be affected as much as the first time, but I did. I cried still. I think the things they can’t tell us were how much they were hurt about all the negative things being said about them about the military. Now we know that they’ve been ready to serve ever since 2020. Second, they were ready to explore their individuality but we’re being held back, maybe since 2018.
Now, I’m just proud to see and witness everyone of them being successful individually and that they are still the same - humble, supportive and truly love each other. I can’t wait (as much as them) to see their comeback in 2025 and like you, I don’t care how much the tickets will be or where the concerts will be held, I will be there with all my energy and love. Thank you for loving them.

I am 50 years old, I saw it live the day it was broadcast, I live in Argentina and it was in the morning before going to work, on the subway while The Truth Untold was playing in my headphones... the only thing I could think was "I have to trust them, they are a family, families don't get separated¨ when I got to the office, people who have no idea who BTS is, except because I tell them about them, they came with a panicked face, saying ¨you heard, BTS disband ¨ Even today I find it funny that they think they're going to find out about BTS before I do, but that's when I calmed down and explained that it wasn't like that and that the media were wrong... time proved them right, ARMY and those of us who are still here supporting each one on their path of enlightenment and self-improvement... thanks to all their tireless work, 2025 does not look as far away or empty as I thought it would, on the contrary, they do not stop giving us joy

I guess I'm masochistic because why I'm watching this again
The amount of times I cried that day... (and when Jin and Hobi enlisted) 😭😭 what really made me sad was the fact the guys were feeling like that for so long and they couldn't share all of that and they kept going because they wanted to make army happy and were scared of disappointed us. Of course I miss BTS but we can tell that this break is definitely a healing time for them. Now they have time to know themselves better, experience new things in live and get inspiration for new solo music and stuff. Watching this after knowing all the content they have released and all the things they have done definitely feels different in some parts but when they started talking about their struggles and crying it's something that still hits so hard. I can't help but cry again sorry 🥺 I'm so proud of them. They don't have to worry, we ain't going anywhere, the real one will be waiting for them. 💜 Apobangpo

They couldn't talk about that they had decided (years ago) to fulfill their military service. At this point, the politicians were still stringing them along and I don't think they wanted to announce at this point and be used as puppets . They had already decided as a group to go, they just didn't tell anyone at that point. They announced on THEIR time, not anyone else's which was so important. The way Jin announced was absolute perfection, in my opinion. There may have also been negotiations with the government about what would be required of them when they served (like not sending them all over the place to perform for free). There may have been other issues, but I found the camera pan to Jin when they said they couldn't tell us everything the first time was telling. I didn't notice it when I originally watched (because tears) but it was interesting to catch this time.
What I love is that they really have taken this time to become themselves. It's been amazing and beautiful to see them grow as individuals. They didn't get that time in their early 20's that so many of us have to figure ourselves out. They're using this time to do that work and I love it for them. I've realized more and more how much this break was desperately needed. I thought I knew, but it was beyond what I thought. I'll stay with them, but my hope for chapter 2 is that they go back to the deep lyrics and interesting songs they used to do.

I think, especially for RM and Yoongi, writing the three English more pop type tracks was something that they knew was necessary to do... for many reasons... but I also think that they considered it to be like ' bubble gum' pop... with not enough depth compared to anything else they'd written to that point.... whilst it garnered a huge amount of newer fans internationally, I just felt like it was too 'shallow' for them. Seeing them at the Busan live concert and how they'd visibly changed.. I mean .. they're men now... and the choreo for Run BTS etc.. and since then seeing all their solo work.. gave me hope that they're going to go back to their 'writing from experience' type tracks... I can not wait until 2025 to see what they come up with after enlistment...... it will also be the first time in over 13yrs (for Yoongi and RM anyway) that they will truly be 'apart'... just thinking about that and how much content it's going to create makes me full of hope and excitement for what's to come.

I feel most ARMY that have followed BTS over the years thought 'nice songs' but they much more prefered the authentic Korean/English songs with deeper meaning. Even I was thinking this way and I got to know BTS only 7 months ago. The ones that got to know BTS by their English songs or by JK's full English album, often think their English songs are their best work. Some people only look for a nice/catchy melody and don't care about/don't look into the deeper meaning of the songs. I really dislike it when people do that. I feel they really don't know the essance of BTS.

@@jenniferrassart3054 I agree Jennifer.. That's why I feel for older Army like myself, 2015, I take responsibility for attempting to educate newer Army so that the whole catalogue can be heard... Everyone is entitled to what they like and some people prefer the songs in English... for me and I hope many others, to understand where their lyrics came from and how inspirational they are is more important than it being a popular bop... I want people to see how difficult it is for them to write lyrics that incorporate both languages (three sometimes if you count the Japanese tracks) and make sense out of certain words to keep the context of the track... and in most cases also have it rhyme... They are extraordinarily clever with the way they write.. and everyone should understand the time and effort they all put into their work.

Same here. I'm almost 44 by the way. Another thing is relationships. I get frustrated sometimes when people still think they're boys. They're grown men. One day (if they don't have it already) they will be in a relationship. They will , in exeption of JK, be 30 and older in 2025. It's normal they want it at that age. • @Kitty-vt5putvr
    @Kitty-vt5putvr 11 месяцев назад +2

The big thing they couldn’t talk about was the military service or the Voldemort as Jin called it in his very important Argentina Live… as the exemptions etc were being discussed and debated in the assembly and not only that the public discussion was very very heated, with the media and everybody and their aunt having an opinion… there were national survey’s etc and even plans to put it to vote with the whole nation… and not only that but directly during this time there was a bullying scandal with one of the girl groups in hybe… it was a national scandal (bullying had been a hot button issue in S.K at that time) in the media with opportunists using it as a way of attacking hybe and the boys even though it had nothing to do with the boys… there was also the sections that were attacking them for getting the opportunity to speak at the White House. So this time period was like a pressure cooker environment which is why I think the boys had the reactions they did. Also they have corrected the subtitles here but the original version for a while didn’t say an off-season which is what they said but said Hiatus… which is what caused the panic in the media… after Tae wrote a long post on weverse and JK came live after and Namjoon wrote a very important slightly angry at the media but poised letter which he also referenced Tae and JK’s message and the 3 helped to calm the situation down… but sections of media ran with it… even when they were doing the Busan concert half western media was still on about their hiatus because of the mistranslation. A lot of people also watched this festa who were not ARMY or Army for a short length of time who also weren’t used to Bangtan’s open communication style… this was a dinner for Bangtan and army only but the message of it kinda got misinterpreted by others and spread… it took a while for the fandom to recover emotionally but it all made sense with the military service announcement. That they took it out of the hands of the govt etc. Busan concert was part of their duties as ambassadors for the bid for the world expo 2030… which should also be remembered as it had political interference and its own sit of unique challenges like the venue having to be moved and hybe paying for it etc. So the, announcing the military enlistment the day after it was a powerful message. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

The music...well...yeah...they did discuss that later, of course. LOL Plus, look closely at Hobi's nails!!! Painted for the "Arson" MV! I seriously wonder if he came straight from the MV - or the jacket shoot for the album - when they filmed this. Anyway, it wouldn't surprise me if Yoongi had already been in talks about booking shows then...even if "we" didn't know, he sure did, know that he wasn't "just going to rap for 2 hours", that is. Maybe he had/maybe he hadn't planned the full "World Tour" yet, but at the very least BH contacting venues and such, doing the leg work to start getting him booked into places. After we were allowed to go back to our "new normal", I'm sure things filled up quick because EVERYONE - artists and fans alike - were eager to get out. I honestly wouldn't even be surprised if people touring NEXT year booked their gigs in late 2021 or sometime in 2022, just to be sure they had a spot in the roster, so-to-speak.
As far as parents... *second part of this is NOT for the YOUNG young ones* LOL
1 - My mom and I are definitely closer since I moved out. I was a "late in life baby" (adopted at that), so we REALLY didn't always see eye-to-eye on most things. Plus...I would read dictionaries and encyclopedias - for fun - so, while SOME things mom said did make sense, even around 10 or 12, there was a lot of stuff she said that I could quote word-for-word as to why this or that was a bad idea and/or outdated information.
2 - My own kids...only my youngest is still at home (graduated this past June). The oldest two are definitely closer to my husband. The younger 3, however...I know more about them than I want to at times. LOL I ALWAYS believed in raising kids with "as much truth as possible"...age-appropriately...so I never shied away from those "big talks", let alone the smaller ones. I do remember after chatting with my (then) 9 year old (the youngest) about puberty/sex...I asked if she had any questions. She said no, got up, took all of 4 steps...spun around, walked back..."Wait...yeah...how do two women have sex?" So...yep...I explained that, too. Odd, since ALL of my kids are somewhere on that beautiful LGBTQ+ rainbow...NONE of the others had asked anything like that before. Leave it to the youngest, I guess? Anyway, I think being that open/honest - about anything/everything - helped. I've always been close to the younger ones - the older two, when still home, I was pretty close with, too. However, hubby would often take the older two (sometimes oldest 3) out to do stuff. Due to work schedules shifting, he didn't have as many chances with our 3rd born, and by the time the last two came along (3rd shift sucks!) he barely had any time for the family at all (thankfully that has since changed again as well), but I think that may have been part of why the oldest 2 are closer to him now, while the younger 3 still tell me pretty much everything. I can't go a day without ALL 3 of them texting me - even the one who's still at home! LOL
"Who does that?" *peers around* *awkwardly raises hand* Why make the bed if you're just gonna sleep in it again the next night???? And it's not like the bedroom is usually a "favorite place" to hang out when you have friends over, so there's no need for anyone else to be in there until/unless you invite them in. (Though I do agree, if I could get away with it, I would SO just throw a sleeping bag on the mattress. Don't think the hubby would agree to that, though...)
And yes, most definitely to that 90%! I'm here for their solo stuff and I'm here for them, no matter what direction they go in, as a group, once they've all completed their military service...and any other future solo stuff as well - beyond just Tae's...Kook is - maybe - still working on a full album, though I think his is done and they're just waiting to release...RM is working on another one...and I have a feeling after a couple weeks' rest, Jin will release his full album once he gets out of the military). With all of the genres they've explored, with all the lyrics they've written, for the group as well as solo, I'm in this even AFTER the house lights come on and they leave the stage for that final time. Just because the (new) music stops doesn't make them any less important or relevant. #ARMY4Life Have the t-shirt. (Literally...simple dark purple t-shirt, with a light purple "90%" on it. 😁 Probably should have done a tank top version of it, too. Might still do that for next summer...)
Whoops, once again, this was much longer than even I expected. Oh well. LOL

Since then, as I re-watch some of their music and listen to the lyrics (aside from the summer English bops)....I can now almost see this coming. I've questioned whether or not it was a unanimous decision...some ready, some not...but then the decision was made for enlistments and I guess it no longer mattered. Still, I do have some concerns about some of the members well-being, whether it be 'down' time, 'solo' time or military time. I hope that they can beat the odd and reunite all together once again.

This time was coming for awhile aka the festa which announced the stop on group activities for the time being, and in fact covid messed up their plans because a lot of the fandom in retrospect thinks that if the guys could have done their massive stadium mots tour as planned and then they would begin their enlistments but because covid happened they postponed all those plans and focused on themselves and army. like given how horrible the 2020-2021 period was I cannot even imagine the tannies not being there in all the ways that they were. And the thing is they could have easily taken the time off/took a break during the covid period but they made the effort to stay even more connected with army and brighten up peoples days🥹🫂💜💜💜 like how can I not love them withy whole entire being and they gave us/did so much the English trilogy and they gave us the BE album which so so special and even though covid era was hell in many ways we were each others support system and I'll never be able to pay back the amount of gratitude, love and respect I have for them.
as for the part about you being worried for some of them I can understand the general concern for them but I don't think any of them r not well le things of that nature. And ofc they will reunite in 2025!! they have said so so many times now I have lost count. They love each other, they love army and they love BTS this thing they have created together. They'll only be better, more amazing, with so much to show and their combined energies will go CRAZYYYY!! just them as soloists now seeing them upgrade and only get better and better as artists and in their craft.

They couldn’t talk about their enlistment. They planned all a long to go after MAP:7 tour. They were never trying to be exempted. They were given a delay until 30 but starting with Jin they are giving that up. Jin went through so much shit because he couldn’t explain. They took control of their path after Busan concert. For me the reason it was so emotional is because you hated that they were afraid doing this would let us down; RM shoulders were carrying so much & you saw how heavy it was for him. It all just broke your heart. They needed a break so they could discover who they were as individuals. It was time.
Ever Since it’s been an adventurous emotional beautiful ride. They are exceptional human beings.

It sometimes feels like RM/Namjoon takes all the world wide issues onto his shoulders. He should give himself a break sometimes. He's also just a human being. He often looks stressed, like he carries a burden all the time. Some of his lyrics in his album Indigo feel so sad and painfull. He said himself during lives he often gets depressed.

I watched this live... @_@ I felt numb the entire day; not because I was worried about them disbanding, I understood what they were saying, but the fact that they were obviously SO WORRIED about taking a break because of how it may affect US!!!! That killed me! At this time, they would have known about joining the military, but the Korean government was still debating the exemption. This is the most logical thing for me that they would have meant about it being hard not to talk to us about it.

Through out this FESTA I couldn’t help but notice the sadness in JIMIN’s face

  • @delasmercedes2940

At the time of Festa and since the Dynamite single release, everyone and their dog wanted a piece of the B7S pie, placing enormous pressure on the members, of which they couldn’t talk about it, but tangentially. We still don’t have their official version of what Jm meant that day
The only thing we can do it’s deduce, based on how things had taken their course and what has unravelled since. What follows is my informed analysis, in which I’ve used my experience in journalism
It’s doubtful that the BTS members and BHM expected the Eng lyrics songs released during the pandemic, mainly Dy and Bu, to blow up as big as they did. They were even surprised by their PTD LA and Las Vegas concerts selling out in minutes, despite the pandemic restrictions still lingering
Because they were making so well, the members seemed to have felt the pressure from the US+K music industries to continue on that English discography path; kind. of replacing 1-D, while bringing into the US a ready-made global audience market; that is, an organised fandom willing to spend, stream, and buy-out concerts in minutes, while travelling across the world to attend them: ARMY.
The K-pop industry, on the other hand, finally had the opportunity to make it big in the US with BTS opening and keeping the doors open. (K-pop had made several failed attempts to enter the US market before)
All those apparent industry expectations, of which none is wrong but business as usual, were halted in full with the Festa announcement (more on this latter)
In addition, the Big-3+other industry players were using the BTS name at home to pressure the govt for a K-pop wide military service exemption, in an endless and very public back and forth. (Neither B7S nor BHM ever asked for military exemption)
There were also various other expectations placed on BTS by the newly elected govt, as “K-culture” reps (it was reported that the new KPres “dropped the BTS name” to break the ice while meeting for the first time the US counterpart; there were also announcements of BTS performing at diplomatic cultural events, w/o checking with BHM first. A similar expectation arose this Summer during the 2023 World Jamboree fiasco.)
BTS were also appointed as Busan Expo bid ambassadors. (They chose to do the Busan concert for free, as a parting gift to ARMY, when Jin accepted to postpone his enlistment until the late Fall)
BTS members made their public announcement about them enlisting, on their own terms and in full control of their careers, the day after the Busan concert; with this unexpected announcement, they hanged out-to-dry both the gov’t self-perceived control over BTS and the K-Pop industry using them in the military exemption campaign.
How was BTS able to successfully out manoeuvred all of the above and be left unscathed?
I propose that the 2022 Festa aftermath showed how much financial market power the duet BTS had. In other words, BTS had become “too big to disband”
The day after the Festa, the media misinformed coverage pumping up their “break up”/disbandment, affected as expected Hy’s shares, which plunged to gutter levels but, surprisingly, all the K-pop industry companies’ shares also suffered similar loses, as well as big US invested interests in BTS or K-pop.
For the K and global financial markets, K-pop was nothing without B7S. Consequently, BTS had to be protected and the members let be.
(I’m sure that a BTS disbandment might have looked, at first, as a good opportunity for many savvy industry insiders, hoping to get their hands on one or all the 7 accomplished and very famous artists and musicians.)
JK’s, J-Hope’s and RM’s public rebuttals to the 2022 Festa media coverage weren’t only meant to appease ARMY, but also the global financial markets and industry current investors, who were selling their shares in bulk.
B7S members and BHM (with Bang PD) rode the 2022 wave ahead of everyone else, taking big risks, while trusting their own integrity, the reciprocal love/trust between BTS and ARMY, and a solid relationship among the members and with their company.
They have rescued BTS members from loosing their identity, while achieving enormous artistic freedom, as shown by the distinctive paths each of the members have chosen for their soloist debut AND, despite their new creative landscape as artists, they have also kept ARMY by their side, breaking away from the expected K-pop industry practice of “company fandom transfers” to new groups.
BigHit Music has accompanied and supported BTS members’ personal and professional choices all the way, raising the members from junior to equal partners.
Humble as they all are, BTS and BHM (and Hybe Corporation) have earned the global music industry respect and have commanded it brilliantly; meanwhile, ARMY’s loyalty continues to be BTS solely owned “three-eight ddaeng”

Military service, personal lives, even possibly sexual orientation, grown up real life stuff. Not our business so long as we know that what they do tell us is real and true and the love is there. Hoping the 10% finds the door before 2025 cuz the love and feeling I have found thru BTS has been revelatory.

Older ARMY who watched this the day they upload that video would be so much harder to hear all this from them...

Jin cleared some of this up in live later on. It was about enlistment but they had the plan for enlistment, break, and solo stuff all along. They were supposed to do it after the world tour in 2020 but due to the cancellation and pandemic they put it off to help us with the songs and the album BE and then put it off to do LA, Seoul concerts, Las Vegas and Busan. Jin hates the winter and was planning to go in the summer of 2022 but gave it up so they could do Busan - a much better ending for them and Army than the Seoul concerts. It was decided that if they told ARMY about enlisting that Busan would just be a mess of tears for them and ARMY and they wanted to end hopeful instead but it seems obvious in this that everyone was not in agreement on it. The thing that really sucked was that the government used their enlistment for their own political gain. The military was never considering giving them an exemption and the politicians weren't either and BTS weren't going to probably take it any way and some in these entities knew this all along. That is why they were asking the government for the announcement in April it all pretty much had been decided but it was dragged on and debated until Jin enlisted.

It was a non-army who texted me that said they broke up and how do i feel about it. I am like what? I guess she saw news or something, because she never brings up BTS. I was distraught, but I assumed she misunderstood, and had to wait all day until work was over for me to watch Festa myself. So when I watched it, I cried and I was sad, but a little relieved because it was not how the news/media reported it. But I was still distraught and heartbroken, not because they were taking a break, but how the guys felt in the situation, the anxiety/pressure they must have felt have a secret of taking a break for 2 yrs because of covid ruining their plans, and really seeing namjoon cry as he was conveying the reason because they just have no choice ultimately in their situation 😭 They didn’t mention military, but I really felt they were in the position where they had to make this choice.
