They give us so much unconditional love. My twenty two year old granddaughter often says joyfully we don't deserve them in response to our two dogs being lovey or just silly. She's right. I know when I'm feeling down or not well, both dogs are coming over to check on me and they try to cheer me up or comfort me -I know they know because they are looking at me with concerned faces and being even more than usual sweet to me. How could I ever not be there for them?

I had to have my senior dog put down the end of 2023. She was 17. With a new rescue dog who is 15 months, he is annoying too in different ways. We have to work through their stages just like we rear our children.

So true. Thank you for being blunt.
