My dog is 8 and has the same problem. I gave him laxative but i don’t want to give it to him regularly. The surgery is so expensive and this is the only alternative i can find on the internet. I’ll do this for now while saving for the surgery. Thank you so much!!
I am going to try this. My dog has severe heart problems and is not a candidate for surgery. I have him on lactulose but the hernia filled up again with stool. Thank you.
I also have a 15 year old rottie and I did the push button poop and it worked very well. He was so stopped up I had to pull out and the size that came out was enormous but he was relieved so much
my shitzu was put under anesthesia to be nuetered and perenial hernia repair he is 14 they had to bring him out of it because he turned blue and had trouble with his breathing his hernia is quite large but none of the vets we saw told us about this technique they more or less said take him home keep him comfortable with medication and give him 5mls of actilax twice a day until we feel it is time to have him put down would your technique work with a larger hernia he has no problem peeing
I managed to help my dog squish some poops with this technique, thank you! But the last time i tried it, my dog was a bit aggressive. Could it be because i push it too hard and hurt him?
Not a fellow Peke, but I had a mixed Peke before and now I have a mixed Maltese and she has a hernia and is scheduled for surgery soon. I'm kinda worried she has two. 🥲

how do you get the stool out of the hernia without surgery? I believe that’s what’s going on with mine currently

great job.. my havanese had surgery 6 months ago, and now its starting again with the hernia, is this normal?
Yes unfortunately hernia comes back, especially if dog is not neutered

Possibly. Or you may have been holding on too long. Another possibility would be hemorrhoids.
