      I'd go as far as 'genius' kind of taking the Gary Newman and Depeche Mode models to a whole new level. He is simply so interesting to listen to both musically and philosophically.

      Richard, is it safe to assume all three nights sold out day one? Im in Kansas City and would love to make it to the Aragon show.

    • @RichardAcevedo2814
      @RichardAcevedo2814 6 лет назад

      @David Wagner So I got in line a bit around 9:15 or so. Line starts moving at 10 and was only supposed to be open until 3. Based on the size of the line they immediately added a third day anticipating sell outs. But by the time I got to buy my tickets at 2:45 there was still tickets available for all the shows and I have no further indication as far as how many they still had or how many more they sold. They did say that they would stay open as late as they could to make sure everyone got a ticket but I do not know how all that turned out. The line behind me had to still be either the same size or longer by the time I got out around 3. And I heard some in the line mention that the idea was they'd sell whatever was left online but that's anecdotal as hell, I can't speak to that. Also, maybe shows did sell out by the end of the night. I would have to google and hope to find some info.

    • @wags9452
      @wags9452 6 лет назад +1

      Thanks for the info. Did you have a good time in line like Trent hoped? I wish they were playing my city. On tickemaster it looks like there are still tickets available for Thursday night, but it wont let you buy on the website. I reached out to some Chicago friends to see if anyone i know got tickets. I cant really swing the travel on Thursday anyway so i might end up on stubhub for Saturday.

    • @RichardAcevedo2814
      @RichardAcevedo2814 6 лет назад +1

      lol it was rough. I was on 3 hours of sleep for no goddamn good reason. And the most exhausted afterward that I think I had ever been. Driving back home was actually really unsafe! I shouldn't have done it and I dont live too far... Lol I think I would have tried to enjoy it more. But after a coiuple hours, yeah, we were all chatting and holding each others places in line as we went to use the rest room or get food and whatnot. Oh and apparently inside the venue there was a station where you could listen to two new tracks from the upcoming EP. But I missed it entirely! It's okay. I really wanted to buy a few more tickets and sell them but I felt like that wasn't in keeping with what he wanted so I just bought two... I wish I had now though so I could help out other fans such as yourself. I saw him in 2009 I think during the wave goodbye tour. At the Aragon. And I bought two tickets off of someone for 300 bucks. And I am sure the tickets were not 99.50 like they were this time around. But I really do not know. I had considered doing something similar but decided against it. I did also almost want to buy at least one more ticket for myself for the other days being offered too! I settled on just two for Friday night.

I want qualities friends who actually like what i like not like whats trending or the next pretty face. I think Trent is on to something and if i am ever in the area where they play then i will be lucky and it will bring value to the experience. Thanks.

    I remember sleeping out all night in the cold for front row tickets to see Ozzy. The management left the sidewalk heating system, that was used to melt ice, on for us. We'd wake up all hungover and see our other rock and roll buddies also coming to get tickets. That sense of community in which he speaks is real. Im about the same age as Trent and he did live in BFE, I know because he grew up about 45 minutes south of me in western PA.

    I totally dig what Trent expresses in this interview. Bring it back to the true essence of shared musical expression. So much feeling/intimacy becomes lost these days in huge arena style venues, there is nothing like the collective energy and passionate pulse of a tribe of people in one intimate room, all resonating on/feeding of the same creative heartbeat. In many ways, Trent is going back to the vital source of what fed into his musical passion & drive in the first place. A sense of community is needed these days, its great to try and encapsulate that once again within his very own fanbase & for the enjoyment of his own reconnection with the roots & truth of creative expression. Massive respect! ~X~

    I liked the ticket selling strategy. They added additional shows to cities where they sold out; and the tickets left over from the venues are on ticketmaster now anyways so people who cant drive cant complain too much. It could have been slightly more organized, but I think it was great overall.

      toffeebomb interestingly enough; Chris and Layne were two of my few musical gawds. I honestly resented Pearl Jam because I felt they unfairly overshadowed SG and AiC. I never gave PJ a chance or a fair listen. Until...last year when Chris died. I then told myself THEY were all that was truly left and maybe it was time to get over it and LISTEN. I have since grown quite an appreciation for PJ! Btw, they have a new album coming soon, released the first single already. 😊

      angela Davis yes Angela I miss him so very much. I own a radio station and host a show; I did a tribute last year but it took me 10 days to be able to compose myself enough to do it. This year I did a tribute on May 18th. However I in fact lost it several times during. Certain song are almost more than I can listen to.

      same, i was there too. what a fucking amazing show for me. On 10 hits of good acid and absolutely in love with these bands. i was upset that matt cameron wasn't on drums for Soundgarden for that show.

    My first NIN show was in 1990. This time-- I drove two hours to the Palladium in LA last month, got in line at 5:30 am, waited over 5 hours, bought 4 tickets for the Saturday night show, drove 2 hours home. The experience was amazing with the fans and my teen son. Can't wait for the December show.

    I waited in line 8 1/2 hours to buy Nine Inch Nails tickets and do not regret an ounce of it! I love what they did. It’s a concept I’ve been thriving on for years due to my lack of interest in social media. I met some wonderful people in that line! Corey and Kat were a wonderful couple and hope they enjoy the show in Boston! Much love Trent!

    It was cool to hear him talking about people connecting in person over a mutual taste in music, because that's exactly what happened to me when I was in line for NIN tickets a few days ago.

    I waited in line for over 8hrs in Boston for his Wang Shows, had the best time making new NIN friends, and still ended up with seats only 8 rows back in the center on the floor, worth the wait for sure, #trentforever

    I remember seeing NIN at the Metro Nightclub in Melbourne. It was small and intimate and was truly the single most amazing musical experience I have ever had! To see them in a small setting with 1200 other people who love this band as much as me was exactly as Trent says in this interview. It was a temple of like minded people all there for one thing, music!

    Goal accomplished. I saw them at Red rocks almost two weeks ago and I still can’t get that performance outta my head. It brought me back to when music really mattered to me and was my everything and somehow, adulthood has caused me to forget that part of myself. Now, I can’t wait to purchase a vinyl record player and begin connecting with music again.
