I built an Ipe deck 7 years ago (to replace Trex that disintegrated) and Ipe Oil it every 2 years. It's spectacular. Now I am planning on replacing some 1980"s cultured stone on the covered exterior front entry with a horizontal T&G Ipe siding. At 1:15 your video shows a beautifully mitered exterior Ipe outside corner of a building and I was wondering if you have tips on keeping the corners tight . I have a 10' wall and an 8' wall so I'd like to use full boards with no seams except for the mitered OS corner. Do I need to seal the miter cuts or should I just glue them?? Some people say not to miter Ipe at all! Any suggestions are appreciated. Great videos and good work! (Climate is Semi-arid here; hot dry summers with snowy winters. 5 to 100 Fahrenheit.)
I have it inside my whole house- about 4,ooo sq feet and it is gorgeous ! so much variation in the wood that I can use any color wood furniture near it. Unfortanelty I cannot lighten the wood floors if I wanted to in the future. A good fact to consider.
I can tell you in the south it only lasts for three to four months before it starts to mold and the oil wears off. Maybe cause of all the rain and pollen. To high maintenance. Seems to be a better choice in the desert
Love this material! My favorite to work with. Beautiful and long lasting.
We are big fans too!
What a lovely video. Thank you.

Unfortunately the ipe flooring around my swimming pool has become a problem for my children because they get hurt by splinters. How can I fix it?
the surface is not smooth, but has a non-slip finish
Are checkmarks common with IPE?
