Thank you so much ! I started with a good base, it was almost new and very clean so nothing really to fix beforehand. I was very luck to find the Connect secondhand in that state ! But also without any electricity to install (most my things are battery powered and I use a cooler for my food) it's pretty quick to have something livable for short trips :)
The beauty is the simplicity & music, absolutely beautiful! And I'm a carpenter!

Looks very nice. I like the low profile on the cabinet since it allows you to fit a larger bed. What size mattress you installed?
Thank you ! It's a 120x190x10cm clic-clac sofa bed mattress but I cut it to have more free space in sofa mode, so 100x190x10cm :)

That’s great as long as you’re very very short. I’m 6’2 and I doubt I could even sit up in the low ceiling van. 🖖
I'm 5′9 I think (1m77) and yes I've made the bed and choosen the thickness of the mattress especially so I can sit comfortably but you would definitely need to build everything a bit lower 😅There's 2 meters in length though so plenty of room for a good night sleep 😁

The real problem is the manufacturers keep lowering the roofs, which makes them almost unusable for campers!
Sweet setup , is that a futon mattress and if so , did you have to trim it ?
Thank you ! It's clic-clac sofa bed mattress, I did remove 10cm on each side because it was huge when in sofa mode, but I kept the lenght at 190cm.

Hey, good quick and neat job! Could you make a list of all the tools you used for this conversion? And did you do any electric work at all?
No electric work ! I don't know anything about electricity and don't feel safe playing with it. We also have a ton of laws in France about doing permanent things to our vehicules that can make it illegal to drive and I don't want to risk any of this and not ready to study all this yet.
As for the tools, I only have an electric drill and a circular saw so I used that 😅

Thank you so much ! Yes I completely forgot to film, I just took a few stories on my instagram. I put a layer of cork and a thick heat shield aluminium/cotton mat behind the wood, used for car hood and things like that.

@@Graymanvanlife I don't mind at all ! I have a very warm duvet under there, that's the comfy part, it's like a cloud. The top is just a throw/bed cover to keep it clean.
The mattress is from a "clic-clac" sofa bed that I cut to fit the size I've wanted. It originally was 120x190x10cm and I cut it down to 100x190x10cm.
The sliding bed is just a few pieces of wood from the hardware store and 15€ slats from ikea. I've made a short video of the build here instagram.com/reel/CX_j-regexw/

Bonjour, aucune idée pour le contrôle technique toutes les infos que j'ai eues disent tout et son contraire, et comme le miens est prévu pour dans deux ans je me suis dis que je verrais à ce moment là. Il n'y avait que quelques boulons à retirer donc au pire ça prends 15 minutes à remettre :)

Bonjour, c'est difficile de savoir sans connaître votre corpulence ni les dimensions du lit que vous allez utiliser (les Connect sont aussi différents selon le modèle/l'année). J'ai fabriqué mon lit sur mesure selon ma taille et mes préférences et je ne dormirais pas sur le lit plié personnellement.

Thank you so much ! ☺️ It took around 2/3 days because I always forgot something at the store (first time making these kind of things) and I work on the side, so I'm sure it's possible way faster. And it cost around 200€ in wood, screw etc and 170€ for isolation. The mattress was 175€ because I wanted a proper one and the rest like the floors are leftovers from my house.

I have a have Kemper camp stove stored under the bed and a small rear door shelf to use it on :)
