i've been having the 'check engine' light occasionally for a year now. Bought my 5 series in 02/2019, car is from 2017. Sometimes the light stays off for months, and now, a week ago it started again... Sometimes it lights up, sometimes it doesn't. The car vendor told me it's not a big deal because there are no error codes when he does a diagnostic. And strangely enough, also a week ago, the 'check tire pressure' light lit up too., although all tires have optimal pressure... It also 'disappeared' after a few days....
Hey there Lee, got a head scratcher for ya: I'm driving along (it could be at freeway speeds, or street speeds, or reversing out of the driveway) and both randomly and repeatedly-this has happened several times, my stereo/radio (whatever audio I'm listening to) cuts off, my iDrive screen turns off, my speedo and tach gauges all go to zero, all my instrument panel lights (DTC, fog, etc.) turn off, my cruise control cuts out... And then maybe a half-second later everything comes back except now the ABS light is on, traction control is completely disabled, start-off (hill assist) is disabled, cruise control is unusable, and the parking brake light is on constant in yellow on my instrument panel... The iDrive screen switches on and defaults to the messages screen saying that there's an ABS fault, traction control is disabled, etc etc echoing everything that's on the instrument cluster panel... This stays as such for random amounts of time--sometimes after just 30-45 secs, everything goes completely back to normal, all warning messages have cleared automatically, all the systems come back, and even cruise control is usable again. The longest interval before all comes back online is me getting to whatever my destination was, and by the time I get back to my car and start it up again, it's as if nothing ever happened... Platform: 2011 335i E92 N55, manual trans, no jB4 (currently working on a warranty with Burger--trying to get a replacement) stock tune except for burble through MHD. ANY ideas at all man?? Every time it happens, it's a total WTF moment for me--I got nothing! And BTW, I've scanned the stored codes-comes up as the same explanations the message screen on the iDrive says when everything turns back on-ABS faults... EXTREMELY weird! I'd love your insight on this Lee! Thanks bro!!!
You said your running a tune?!? Sometimes ecu causes an isssue with tunes especially if they were Incorrectly done....I would probably do a full ecu reset.(stock) Then observe its behaviour a bit then later reinstall a different tune or better install. If it persists then use diagnostic tools and research forums tell I find some one having a similar issue.
I have a 2011 318d my engine light come on couple months ago. Brake pressure sensor and egr valve. So I chnaged brake sensor and week later it come back on. So yesterday I replaced the egr valve and went to the garage today and the fault was cleared and light turned off. Yet now just 30 minutes ago the light has come on yet again
I continue to get the 0414 code on my e46 secondary air injection system, only code that shows when i perform the scan. The pump is new, the valve, vacuum hose on pump and vacuum hose attached to the valve. Any thoughts? suggestions to clear code/repair issue? Thanks
I just had a new battery installed in my x3 2012 bmw and two days later my engine light is ok but it’s miss firing a little too plus my heat isn’t working right it’s warm but not hot

While driving my 335 threw a SES light & ran rough. My old OBD2 scanner said P0305, so misfire. Replaced all spark plugs & coils. Now it runs great, but that SES will not go out and my old Autoxray codescout 1500 says it can't clear the code. Any way that you know of to clear this without spending $80 on a app?
hey so i bought a bmw for my first car at 16 for a good deal and there was something leaking from under the the car I don't know what it is but i took it to a mechanic and the hood wouldn't open so what happen is he got it open and replaced the vacuum tube and then the check engine light came on and now him and i are stressing because we keep paying for repairs and the light wont go away. is there any way you think i could make it go away by doing this?
Soo I have a 2000 bmw 328i , I got my car back from the mechanic. A couples 2 weeks later my check engine light turn on but then would go away for a little and comes back. I did a oil change hoping that would fix the problem but came back. I’m guessing I might need new spark plugs ????

Recently my check engine light displayed (solid yellow light) on my BMW 2016 X1. After driving for a day or two it went off on its own. But then came back again. So I took it to a local mechanic and he informed me the DTC code causing the Check Engine light is D1249. He then noted this is some type of generic BMW code with no other available details and that only a dealer could clarify what the code means. Obviously I would like to avoid doing this if possible. Does anyone know what a D1249 check engine code mean?

Costed quite a bit to fix due to a kit parts and labor involved. Of course hated that but I had 46,000 miles on it with no prior problems so lived with it.

I was at a stop light and I look down and my car put its self on neutral , I tried to put my car on drive and it didn’t let me , I pushed the start button and it let me put it on drive but my light turned green and I went to go straight and it went really slow I stepped on the gas and it said engine malfunction. I pulled over and I turned of my car . After that It drove normal . The car drove normal . I checked the status on my car under vehicle info and everything is running good all green . I took it for a drive and the car drove normally . What’s going on . Please help

Hi. I love your videos. If i didn't have nails, I'd do my own repairs. I get a code P0012. Cleared code, comes up again then goes off a few days, then back again. From doing my research, I think camshaft A needs replaced. Had it put on, had hard start. Took it off, put old one back on, no problem starting, light still comes on. Hestitation in acceleration is also happening. Maybe stuck solenoid or need cleaning msybe replaced? Any suggestions?

I put the car in sport mode and then sport plus and ran it and I noticed the car was stuttering or putting then the check engine light came on
