Not a storage cradle, we just have three 2” high blocks of teak. Very basic, we have a turnbuckle with snap shackle that pulls down on the bow eye. Then a webbing strap that goes over the aft section of the hull.
This is great. I have a Dyer Dhow on my Morris and lifting dinghy is usually a two-person job. I have to add the 3 attachment points on stern and rail. Did you install the forward attachment padeye or did the Trinka come with that? Thanks.
Yes, that is simply run up our spinnaker halyard. It lives on that halyard taught to a stanchion base virtually full time. The only time I disconnect the upper half it is for using the spinnaker.
The ring on the transom is thru bolted. It’s mounted low so it’s at the pivot point for the flip like a rotisserie chicken. The ring folds or falls flat out of the way when using the outboard or sailing rudder.
The upper part of the block and tackle is attached to our spinnaker halyard. However it could just as easily be attached to our secondary jib halyard. Another advantage to this method is the lead into the sheave at the mast head need not be perfectly fair as once you have the correct height it is set and not active.
Nice video, thanks. Any tips for easily moving an outboard motor to and from the dinghy to the stern rail? I'll be doing that soon for first time with small 3.3HP outboard onto a 7' fiberglass dinghy from my new Cal 33. Motor is light enough to handle w/o using a pulley system, so I figure I'll just carry it down the swim ladder. I'm not that concerned like I would be if it was a 10HP or bigger, but still will secure a line to it so it doesn't end up at the bottom of the bay. Thanks.
We use a 8hp both on our inflatable and even the hard dink. I use the same type of block and tackle as it’s 65 pounds. But for your light outboard hopefully you can just juggle it down there. Maybe you can use one of the rungs part way down for a hanging rest point then you can get in the dinghy for that last cross over.
Looks like the pulley system has a locking mechanism. Might work for my kayak storage. Can you let me know the details/make etc of the pulley system and weight capacity. Thanks

It’s a simple 4 part block and tackle made by Schaefer Marine. The top double block also has a cam cleat. It should be easy to find via West Marine.
Schaefer marine 4 part block is rated for over a thousand pounds. Think it’s the series 5 is the size.
