This is excellent information!! My son is autistic and spends hours upon hours playing on his computer, cell phone and TV each and every day when not doing chores, going to self help classes or not in his room. With the cost of electricity climbing higher and higher, I plan on taking him off grid.... This little device will save me a ton of money when I set up the solar panel outside of his room each sunny day. Thanks for the review!!!
Wow! Super helpful to know about pass through charging capability. I've had my eye on a Jackery for quite a while, and this is a compelling reason for getting one as it provides a convenient way of using solar energy after the Jackery is topped off. Thanks for the helpful video!
Max input I've done is ~120watt (you can combine the inputs) and also I don't believe the 290 does pass through charging. I.e. it always runs the outputs off of the battery.
Great video! I have the same model Jackery and solar panel. Do you have to use a charge controller to solar charge the Jackery? The instructions seem to indicate that a charge controller is required but I don’t know if that’s just for certain other scenarios or all scenarios?
Depends on your solar panel. Something like this will work with most panels: www.amazon.com/Connector-Compatible-Generator-with5-5MMx2-5-Converter/dp/B09DPPC84V/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=3MPX5W9H1S0YM&keywords=jackery+solar+generator+adapter+dc&qid=1701647718&sprefix=jackery+solar+generator+adapter+dc%2Caps%2C113&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1

Thanks for watching! The Jackery has a charge controller built in. Just make sure you don't exceed the maximum 30v input.
Im wonder what happen if you conect 2 100 Solar panels to it will you be able to run mor stuff tru it
Great question! I have a few of these Thunderbolt 100w panels, so I'll have to set them up and find out!
Is there a special adaptor to go from solar panel into the jackery unit?
