Epic games have servers and all are the same on every version, its not like chapter 2 on ios has its on servers, its not working like that, as long as the main epic servers are up every version of the game should work, if the current fortnite's servers shut down so chapter 2 on ios aswell, because they are all connected to the same server. One example, if the main current version gets updated on pc ,ps,xbox and android the ios version will get that maintenance too even tho no updates for them because they all are connected to the same servers.
Another thing, you literally cannot connect to any servers if your client is outdated edit: Even if there wasn't a check to see what version your client is Edit 2: Technically you could but since the map is different on both ends you wouldn’t be able to navigate correctly

@@culixul That’s not how it works. For the C2S3 servers to stay up Epic had to allocate a couple of their servers to run the C2S3 server software
