I agree with you on the following: cypress and playwright - those seem to be taking over web UI testing. codeless test automation - well, after ranorex, I think most people are burnt a bit by these 'codeless' testing tools DevOps - ANY test engineer that is not getting trained on devops is stalling their career growth... period. IOT - well, if you look at seek, you will only see 1 open role for IOT testing. IMO, I would replace this one with security testing. What would you say is the 'best tool' for mobile device testing for 2021?
wow mate, you came so close to where I live, I live in shores as well, we should definitely catch up ! Yes, you are correct in NZ we have less opportunity on IoT, but the importance of IoT is increasing in many part of the world and I see the importance will increase in NZ as well. but , security testing is really important and even for IoT we need lot fo security testing to be done !
Interesting to realize that at some point I became a QAOps without even realizing that. I'm now responsible for: 1) Backing up databases 2) Merging Pull Requests 3) Creating back-end and front-end builds 4) Checking the server logs ...and just a little bit of testing as well. Yes, the whole QA landscape is changing quite fast
There is no tool as such like automated tool for IoT testing, but you can test the devices speed in various network,availablility, security and performance with tool like this www.shodan.io/

hi, sir cypress is good for career growth? now iam working in selenium with BDD
but cypress and puppeeter tools doesn't support cross platform testing + they don't support all browsers as well which is a major disadvantage

Since Playwright support chrome, Firefox and WebKit which is safari !
