- There is no instructions come with the kit so this video is how I installed on 2023 Rav 4.
You can do it yourself is you take your time and dry fit a few times to make sure all adhesive mounting pads location is correct before stick it down.
To install adhesive mounting pad, install on bug deflector first (loosely) then install hood deflector on the hood with those adhesive mounting pads still with liner on. Once the deflector is secure to the hood, put your hand in between the deflector and mounting pad and pull the 3M liner off and stick to the hood. Do one adhesive mounting pad at a time !
Once all mounting adhesive mounting pads are on the hood, remove bug deflector and press the adhesive pad with your hand to make sure it stick well.
Final install the hood deflector . Good luck and don’t forget to click Like and Subscribe!
Thank you so much for this video. I was able to get all the hints on installing this myself because I bought one second hand with all the hardware. Just needed to replace the 3M tape and adhesive pads on the mounts!
Thanks for the comment here. I am glad the video is useful.
Thank you for the video, I have a 2017 Rav 4 with this deflector. Two of the adhesive pads have become unstuck and the tape has disintegrated, also the clips are gone for the adhesive pads.. I'm wondering what to do.
Glad it helped. In reference to your missing parts, I have no idea where you can get it as they sell mounting parts as a kit with the deflector. Try your local dealer to see if they can get the replacement parts for you. You could just remove your deflector and clean off the old 3M adhesive and buy new 3M adhesive from local hardware store. Clean the bonding surfaces well with alcohol wipe and reattach what you have. Good luck
@@maniata8869 The dealer has mounting kits. 40 bucks. Thnaks again !
Just in case anyone watching has an earlier Rav 4, mounting the deflector 2013 - 2017 is a little different. The Adhesive pads have no clips that wrap around the hood and they eventually disintegrate and pop up and need replacing. Dealer has the mounting hardware kit PU50013010HW and I found instructions, here's the link for my install (different than yours) drive.google.com/open?id=11lYrUFg3Pz-HP3d-vG_Gs9c7uhfNkDTb&usp=drive_fs
One funny thing, at the end of these instructions it says "avoid using automatic car washes" Well if I had only known ! The one time I did they popped up. Mind you that's after seven years.
Is this making more or less wind noise at high speed?
There is no wind noise before and after installation of bug deflector . If you have wind noise issue, it could be from somewhere else like roof rack.
