You are correct Carol, you can make your own shake and back. If you google it you will find several recipes available if you cannot get Shake 'N Bake directly. Mostly it is bread crumbs and spices.
An excellent version uses crushed cornflakes.

For a parmesan chicken just add Italian seasoning and parmesan cheese to bread crumbs. Coat chicken and bake. When all baked add a little mozzarella cheese and melt in oven.
Shake n Bake is owned by Kraft Heinz. I worked for the company, and for 2 years I worked at the plant where Shake n Bake was produced. I was responsible for ordering the ingredients that went in the product. I don’t have the exact recipe, but you need breadcrumbs. For personal use I like to mix breadcrumbs and panko breadcrumbs to get it extra crispy. You can add some of your Kinder’s seasonings or make it Cajun with some of your other seasoning blends. Add some Slap Yo Mama’s seasoning to one or two pieces, Carol, if you want it a little extra spicy.
Shake and baked Chicken is really great too! Carol, yes you can do this by yourself. I can tell you guys loved it. Much love guys,! ❤
Shake 'n Bake is a seasoned bread crumb coating originally marketed to mimic the flavor and texture of Southern fried chicken. Introduced in 1965 by General Foods, it is currently made under the Kraft Heinz brand.
I absolutely love your videos and the community surrounding you guys is top notch. Everyone is pleasant and kind and it feels like a family not just with you guys but the comments and enablers are so great. One question, I was scrolling and rewatched your pinto beans and cornbread video. You had mentioned doing a video of you guys doing pea soup and pancakes as it was a weekly tradition. That sounds very interesting and Reckys eyes lit up while talking about how good it was. I think im good speaking for a lot of your followers when I say we would love to see more of your recipes and traditions.

Shake and Bake used to give you the bags, but now they don't. I love Shake and Bake though. For Port and Chicken, both are great.

I usually buy the store brand (Food Lion) of Shake N Bake and it includes the bags.
They used to make for fish too. I haven't bought any in years.

My dad loved Shake-n-Bake chicken.... every time I told him I was making it, he'd holler "AND I HELPED"... and when I would tell him that no he did not, he'd say "eatin' helps. It keeps the fridge from being full of leftovers!".... miss you dad!

Way back in my youth it was such a treat to have Shake-n-Bake for chicken lol it was like we were eating bought fried chicken , we also used it for pork till the company .made it for other meat and one for fish too . I live in Germany and you can not get Shake n Bake here and I miss this from my chidhood back in America. I learned how to make my own and when some is left over I put it in a freezerbag and keep it in the freezer for the next time.

I made Shake n Bake chicken with my Mom when I was a kid in 1966! She let me shake it. I thought it was fun. She was cooking for 8 and just liked the help lol. Enjoy!! 😊 this video really brought back memories for me. There used to be a bag in the box for shaking. Guess company has gotten cheap! Thanks 😊

Great for a quick week night meal! The only thing i would add as a side for the pork chops, (probably because of my German roots) is applesauce! The flavor and added moisture goes so well with pork! I'm having a blast watching you enjoy all of these foods I grew up with as a kid, and this reminds me to not take things for granted!❤

You should be able to get four regular chops per envelope. The box is designed to provide for two meals.

My kids always wanted to do the shaking of the bag...sometimes there would even be a heated argument over it 😂 so I always had extra bags on hand just in case.....that way they each could shake and my dinner prep was done so much faster 😉
When I was a kid, Shake and Bake commercial on TV had the child shaking the bag, helping Mom, and at the end she said “ Shake and Bake and I helped!”
Do you guys have Panko over there? It's basically fine Japanese bread crumbs without any seasoning. I think you can use that, add your spices as desired and use a bag to shake and bake. Have fun!

Some of the gravy packets you got in unboxings go great with this. I like to pour brown gravy over my chops and potatoes
The pork shake n bake is seasoned differently. Hopefully you can try it once or make your own with a little sage or poultry seasoning.Also I have dipped potato wedges into a little oil and coat them with the remaining crumbs and bake together with the meat. Yummy.
Me and the hubby do Shake and Bake pork chops at least twice a month. We love them.

Throw some veggies in the leftover coating. Peppers, onions, green beans, broccoli, etc. Whatever you have. Bake it with the chicken. You will love it.

Flavor-up those green beans! Try southern-style green beans! There are many recipes online (even here on RUclips). But it does require fresh green beans. They go really good with meals like this.
I haven't had Shake And Bake since I was a child in the 80s. Shake and Bake pork chops were the best.
Haven't had Shake n Bake since the 1970's 😊 My mom was thrilled when Shake n Bake came to grocery stores in the 60's she suddenly became a chef 😂 That and Ragu sauce 😅

I never even use the bags. I just lay the crumbs in a bowl or a small plate and plop the pork chops in it and then flip it to coat both sides.
They stopped given you the bags in the shake and bake, I never used them either, it’s easier to use freezer bags that lock close.
Grew up on shake and bake so delicious glad you both enjoyed it.

2 teaspoons sea salt
1½ teaspoons sugar
¾ teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon dried basil or dried oregano
¼ cup vegetable oil

My mom & i would cook this & everytime we put the meat in the bag & blew a little air in the bag then we twisted the bag up tight & danced around & shook the bag back & forth like making a mixed drink & would laugh & as a little kid i thought it was so fun. Then my dad would hear us laughing & come upstairs to see us dancing with food bags & thought we lost or minds but got use to it over the years. I have a vertical mouse, and I love it! It is much easier to use if you have wrist problems. It rotates your hand position, so it does take some getting used to.

You can drip a couple of drop of FRANK’s Hot sauce on your dish and dip your pork chop in… yummy!
Shake and bake also comes in number of flavors to like Parmesan and ranch and herbs.
I brush dijon mustard on my pork before I shake it. It just adds a little extra flavor to the pork. When you add your meat the the bag, hold the top and spin the bag, making an air pocket. Then just shake the bag all around.

If you watch travelers do food reaction videos in America, you will notice that they comment on the fact that we season the meat and the coating. That is why some recommended that you use some of the spices. If that is not something that you normally do, and you want to try it, make sure salt is not in the seasonings that you put on the coating. You don't want to end up with the meat being to salty. It never dawned on me that people didn't season their coating(batter). You learn something new everyday.
As long as you're having packaged American mixes for dinner, perhaps someday you'll have the pleasure of Jello 1-2-3 for dessert.

I did chicken and used the shake and bake for pork, I thought I had the one for chicken, but I didn’t, my family couldn’t tell the difference.

No, one packet will cover several pieces. The wording on the box is confusing. 😵💫 but shake n bake is awesome! My favorite is the garlic parmesan for (boneless) pork chops. 😋 ❤ (*& i add extra crumbs on top too! 😅)
