The Rikers were one of the only factions to make my stomach turn, between the videos, audio logs and echoes, they were by far the more darker faction and I think that the second Division game just feels a bit light in its atmosphere when compared to the first game.
I felt the same feeling too. But when James got involved, that sadistic behavior dwindle down. Because unlike their previous leader, James wasn't a psycho, he cared about those who were being abused by the rich and ruthless factions. It's pretty tragic because it was an obvious advantage to regain stability and save themselves from collapse. But it made James' more vulnerable because Keener knew where to strike.
In my opinion the rikers don’t faze me that much, they’re just criminals, that means you can bargain with them and work some kind of deal out to stay alive, when it comes to the cleaners though they are terryfing, they actually believe that by murdering and burning everybody they encounter they’re doing good, rikers are criminals but the cleaners are a whole different breed of unhinged mental instability due to the outbreak, they won’t make a deal with you the only thing they want from you is to see you burn
Larae Barret was an absolute menace. But you can only be impressed by her ability to rule the Rikers. I've always been impressed by her ruthless aggression.
True her ability to lead was indeed impressive however leading by fear can only last for so long it has been shown throughout history that should people be ruled by it for to long basic human instinct would lead to the cause of that fear being forcibly deleted
If there was a faction that would had failed, regardless of Barrett/Dragov's destiny, is the Rikers. Sure fear would work in the short-mid term, but eventually, especially because there are other gangs, or even the other factions, that are either more numerous or more powerful. Let alone, Keener being untrustworthy One faction I see completely opposing Rikers, aside of JTF/Shade, would be the Cleaners and the Last Man Batallion, since both of them have, altho different,mid-long term plans. Especially the LMB, they don't take rebellion kindly from civilians, I highly doubt they would show it to criminals. While Cleaners, both because of the "burn everything down" and the fact they were with the government, puts them at odds against each other
The thing I do like is that despite all of their setbacks, losses and shortcomings, the Cleaners keep getting some major support that makes them extremely dangerous for even the BTSU.
The Rikers are a cruel faction( if not the worst for how they treat dead jtf members). I do feel bad that they got no supplies and were left to die. Also sucks how they kidnapped April and killed noble squad. Love your division content
What my dad I both love about division games 2e get to shoot the criminals whom have decided to kill everyone. And the best part no more whiners or political crap. Clearly not every one if them is evil but alit of the the rikers have it coming.
Damn sad that Dragov was played by Keener. Unfortunately Keener had his own objective and forced Dragov to whatever he wished. Kinda sad actually, totally right of the outcome of his death. Don't be a pawn to no one, not even Keener. Dragov lost who he truly was cause he GAVE into him.
That is why I refuse to go rogue ever. And keep supporting the USA and its constitution. My own rally cry is "Down with the traitors. Up with the Stars." Men like dragov should never side with keener and their always better way.
I really wish ubi would let us pick sides, either stay with the division, or go rogue. I would go rogue cause the division doesn't have badking like the routes do.
This past week I got the urge to wipe an agent in D1 and start the campaign from scratch. I forgot how bullet spongy they were in the first game, and it felt nostalgic to run the streets of NYC again.
Div 1 Darkzone is the finest!!! Well.. not the pvp though. But the environment, the aura. It's dark, dead, and silent as graveyard. Until loud scream and gunshot fills the air whether it's an gunfight between factions patrol, or agents or rogue or even you.
I really love the entire division lore, I can watch vids on this all day long, it's funny how the lore is more interesting than the core game itself lol I definitely learned a lot about the Rikers in this, keep the lord coming mate i enjoyed it a lot! Great vid as always
Hey it's support like yours that keeps me releasing these! Otherwise I'd just be making them for my personal creative outlet...and nagging my wife to watch them. If anything, she really owes you guys 😆
@@NGN 😄 for real ,I would love one day for her to do a commentary , I think that'll be hella awesome ,after all she plays a huge part in your life and the channel haha, hope you gain more and more support cause you'll always have mines😎
Dragov had the chance to really make a difference as a division agent but instead he chose to give up. To take the easy way. He once stood for something, he had the zeal to protect and to help those less fortunate but instead he turned his back on those just to help himself and his "family". Felt real good taking him down, like I had just wiped out a very corrupt individual.
What's weird, we now live in a time when video games are becoming known for storytelling and cinematography while movies and shows are becoming the joke.
I don’t get why we ain’t getting a show tbh. I feel like a movie can’t cover enough of the Division. I wouldn’t mind smaller episodes that covered things like Factions, characters or even missions
The way I see it, Keener couldn't have accomplished his goals without Dragovs help. If Dragov were to refuse him, he'd have to offer Dragov something more valuable than the vague promise of no further harm to his people. Dragov was the one in the power position but he failed to realize that.
Another great video NGN 😎. This opening sequence, the immersion of The Division is what the second game lacks. Scenes like this really gave you a sense of how villainous the Rikers were. Causing chaos deliberately to lure police into their ambushes so they could murder them also. The Rikers were one faction I was very happy to destroy in the game.
no photo shopped titanic with barret this time for shame haha jokes aside you really improved in quality over those 3 years and i am glad you still make stuff even during this long dry spell of the division
HAHAHA I was sooo close to adding that in. Thank you. I'm usually horrified at the quality of my videos after about 6 months, its nice that others have noticed I've attempted to step it up 🙂
Rikers in div 1 were real savages and when you fought them you knew these guys would not go down without a fight. They have been to prison and they were not planning on going back inside that cage. Meanwhile in the div 2 they became less (and as ironic as it sounds) criminal. They felt more like street thugs and the were more humanized for story purposes. Keep up the good work👍.
It makes sense. Barrett only expected the Rikers to exist in the short term. All of the high-level murderers probably died out, diluding the ranks with street thugs.
I enjoy a lot how the world and history on these games really does feel real, it makes sense, people have a cause and hold beliefs. Usually listening to Dragov's speeches through the hacked megaphones really makes you feel what the Rikers think and believe in. It makes sense, it sounds real but doesn't justify their horrible actions. This is just magnificent
Ayo not for nothing…if I was the cop at the very beginning driving the squad car, I would’ve BOOMED IT. Cool y’all can take me down but I’m taking some of y’all with me
I'm my opinion Dragov is the reason why I like the Rikers. His mentally about his team reminds me of a twisted and evil version Dom Toretto and his mentally.
Supply cut off from prison island lead to pissed off prisoners, Pissed off prisoners later on riot and break out, seeking to turn entire New York into _"hybrid between GTA Online and Minecraft anarchy server."_
Finally I’ve been waiting for the rikers I find them the most interesting. I like that you include the intel. Can you do one on the hyenas? I found the hyena video.
Those Rikers have proven their tenacity when they took over a news broadcast station and a downed Osprey in New York. I can’t imagine what their next stronghold would be since they’re a lot more lethal in the second game. 😅
Might have already said this, so sorry if I did. It would be cool to see similar videos on factions from games like watch dogs and far cry. Edit: Also these videos are amazing and they must take so much time to edit and research. Thank you for the great content.
I never understood why those cops just wimped out and panicked, they knew they were escaped convicts and instead of backing out and running them over, they ran straight into what they wanted
Thank you again a great video in-depth and made the rikers feel like human beings. I prefer dragov to Barrett she was cold at least you had comedy with dragov. (God dam it Ron shut the f up ) lol But ultimately keener went to far he push and push dragov feared what keener would do to his new family this ultimately got duchess killed cause until he was flag as a keener lieutenant I think the division would of left the rikers until it was necessary to Cheers 👌👌
Honestly, gameplay wise, these are the worst people to fight, the people with baseball bats are like the main reason why I go down fighting the rikers lol.
Had an idea providing it hasnt been done ATLAS from Advanced Warfare against Black Tusk or LMB or LMB after div 1 team up with Black Tusk Idk had this thought at 3am
I’d hate to see these fookers on legendary I feel they’d be harder to kill than white Tusk especially the heavy with a nail gun just think what it does on heroic and imagine how much more dmg its do on leg probs 1.5-3x dmg
The only enemy I’ve ever been the most annoyed by was the LMB shotgun people. The div 2 riker tanks I never have had too many issues with once I got used to them.
I feel like a lot of them probably did eventually. But most of them probably saw the Rikers as too "hardcore" with the brutal murder of authorities etc, so attempted to keep to themselves.
The rikers in division 1 are far more intimidating than division 2. D1 is far more darker they killed the noble squad agents took there gear doug sutton is the only survivor and single handedly took out the rikers responsible but ultimately was wonded and died as well
Even though the rikers were my least favorite of the main 3 in the division 1 I still like them more than main 3 in the division 2 (not including Black Tusk)
quick question when im playing the division 2 I see people that are not a faction but they are hostile the have garbage cans lids as sheilds and hachets to rush you but at the same time they only have bow and arrows and pistols.they are very easy to kill especially sense they in groups of 4 a lot but sometime I feel bad cause some of them tend to wear hats during the holidays like on chrismas they were wearing chrismas hats so I feel bad for killing them but they also hostile. are they the rioters or something different?
I believe he covered them in a previous vid. I'm pretty sure these are the group that hid in D.C.'s sewers and underground, their scavenger parties. This group is somewhere between rioters and outcasts; similar tactics with using bows but not as fanatic in what drives them. The Santa hats are just a gimmick.
I love how Lara acts invincible but all it would take (and it would happen) is 1 guy sick of her shit and *boom* no more lara Sidebar i wanna like dragov so much but he just such a hypocrite.

One of my favorite missions in Division 1… killing Barrett. Perfect example of justifiable use of deadly force.

I should really play Division 1 again after i finish Division 2's Hardcore mode. already deleted my TD1 character in prep for this
I just feel strange when a melee riker in a footage has a rifle
Hated the Riker back than hated them even more now, fighting them is worst than fighting black tusk
So the theory about the SHD had some corruption sounds mor real.

Dragov didn't change, he wanted to protect the weak and helpless, so why he get the Rikers to murder innocent civilians.
