This argument is a bit similar to the one Philip and Elizabeth had in The Crown series.

I don't know why, but when she asks Albert, "HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND?!?" has always cracked me up!
I suppose it's more HOW she asks him! LoL

I would have been just as cross as she was in this scene. Albert was in no way placed to appoint governments and prime ministers: he had only a private role, that of being his wife's husband, as she categorically and rightly points out here. I'm sure he had good intentions but I'm also sure that, as a man of his age, he thought a pregnant woman couldn't possibly deal with politics and state issues so he just ignored her and went to talk to Robert Peel behind her back when he knew that she felt so strongly about the topic. Instead of trying to persuade her to think reasonably and make allowances for some of Peel's requests, he completely bypassed her and indeed may have given the future PM the wrong impression that she, like any woman, could be manoeuvred by her husband so easily. So he ended up doing more harm to her position as monarch than he could have imagined. No wonder she exploded in private.

It is certainly interesting to see how they work out their private vs public relationship. It was quite a different thing in the past to have a woman in charge, so I find it interesting to study historical records to see exactly how Elizabeth I, Victoria and Elizabeth II handled leadership and responsibility. Some men were very threatened by females in leadership, but Albert kept a cool head. Over time it seems he and Victoria came to a better balance, but the extreme hormones of pregnancy can cause emotional trouble for any of us!!

I think with Albert it came with trials and errors, as much as I admire his legacy he had with Victoria he had the worse habit of being too controlling. With that, Albert was a brilliant man thinking of the future, a great influence of some of the finest architecture, forward thinking of hygienic, was a big supporter of the science and the inventions that defined the Victorian Era. It is admirable how he came from a family that is considered broken, he was cruelly isolated from his mother till his mother's early death, to become an ideal figure in reforming and establishing family in the British royal family. Before Victoria, the Hanovers were turning into a joke because of the men that had the worst habit or either being adulterers openly or contributed to having rocky relationships with key family members. Albert's first priority was the value of a happy and healthy family, his one flaw of being too controlling did contribute to the straining relationship he had with Edward VII, but Albert was loved and admired by all of the other family members. He did get involved too often in Victoria's work, having even their desks next to each other, and it's been known that Albert did restrain himself to be calm Victoria was very vocal when he crossed the line, likely how she did not want a repeat of her own childhood.
Albert meanwhile had good intentions, a lot of the British culture is influenced by him, and he sincerely devoted himself to his wife and new country.

In the series Victoria they took the position that Victoria’s mother had raised her in ignorance of the ways of governance on purpose. The goal being that Victoria would be declared incompetent and a regency would be created by which Sir Conroy would become the de facto king by way of Victoria‘s mother. Alberts interference with state affairs was him trying to prevent that from happening. And the two did not see eye to eye on said issues I.e. keeping lord Melbourne in power. Albert was absolutely right that Victoria shouldn’t have sabotaged the then Tori government, but he should’ve consulted her before promising any kind of finalized deal. Because at the end of the day she is the sovereign, and at some point she’s going to have to do it by herself and without assistance.

I love this dialogue of Albert "And that is quiet enough belive me" we believe you that is why God chose you Mr steel nerves. Strange Albert was so worried Victoria was naive and would bring this monarchy down with her nature yet its only after Albert that Britain becomes the biggest Empire in world's history ever. The irony is not lost on GOD or His daughter.

Ok, this movie was my introduction to Emily Blunt... well, it was either this one or the film she did as the wife of Charles Darwin. I saw them both in the same week.
Anyone who knows me know just how much I hate the Austen/Bronte 'spinster on the moor' school of literature. But I really did enjoy this movie, even though it had similar themes. I liked seeing two intelligent and willful people work out a relationship with all the outside world being oblivious as to just how much work it was.

Victoria's mother was a German princess and she was descended from the house of Hanover. Victoria actually spoke only German until the age of four.

Albert would have been a better king than Victoria. He was more intelligent, dimplomatic & temperate than her.
Qualities desired & required for a good ruler. Victoria only wanted to be flattered, not assume the truth about the situation, like Albert did.
