- And it's DONE! After 11 months of work, the mockup for the introductory minutes of my writing-exercise-turned-AU is COMPLETE.
This is far from the only look you're going to get into this little fake chapter, but it IS going to be the longest, as if I continued with videos as large as this, the full version of deltarune would be out before I finished. Most of the story and plot points will also be established through UST uploads as well. Since it takes much less effort to put those together.

yo this is amazing! i absolutely love this interpretation of mike, the whole scenario and writing felt really on point with what its like in the game, the music was great, the spritework and animation was brilliant, and omg everything about this is so perfect. things like mike throwing ralsei like a bowling ball, and just casually sliding over him with that explosion gif feel like jokes straight out of the game, this whole thing just screams toby fox's style and omg this is so amazing great job

I love all of this! Mike is so funny, and the concept with the SOUL and stuff is really cool.
I'm impressed, this was amazing to watch, it feels like a sneak peak of chapter 3 😁 you did an amazing job with this. to be honest I can't wait for the future chapters. looking forward to the next episode of this episodic series.
Why does Kris have a dark outline? I really want it to be official when the character the player created appears in the gameplay
Dark Worlds reflect the hearts of Lightners into befitting forms. But Kris is missing something very important.
Not a lot of people get the complete tonal shifts UTDR does so often right, amazing job on this!

I don't know when it'll be out, but I'm planning to make it a lot smaller due to how long this part took. So hopefully, it'll be much faster.

I know it a fan interpretation AU of chapter 3 but is the green room still canon and also
what do you think of the new lore of Spamton sweet tack?
The green room, weather people, and shadowmen aren't canon to this version of Chapter 3. There will rough equivalents, but they'll be wildly different. Only thing being directly taken from the sweepstakes info is the mention of Tenna, who will get a proper introduction in the next installment.
As for the sweepstakes lore itself, I think its great. I absolutely adore the custom home-made online blog type stuff going on with Noelle's lore, and I'm intrigued now more than ever in the mystery of Dess.

(So that's why your Mike theme had BETA in the title...)
Having the vessel play a part already makes this stand out from many other fan interpretations. Liking the character designs so far as well.
Overall, good going on this and take as much time as you need for the next part.

Let me explain:
While i trust toby and what he'll make for the upcoming chapters, I'm actually a bit affraid that this "Mike" character might not be what we expect, if he turns out to even exist in chapter three. Or like, the really unlikely scenario of someone actually getting toby's idea for chapter 3 totally right
I don't want these to stop though, i love what small teams can do, is just... a bit scary at times

Mike is just a reference to a presenter of a commercial from the 70s about a drink called big shot or something like that
this is probably the best mike take i have ever seen!
the earliest i have ever seen the vessel was ch5 takes,but seeing it in ch3 and the player being treated as an antagonist while not being the usual "final battle fun gang vs player" theme going is pretty unique.
overall,i am very hyped for the next part.

Player: “Great. Just great. I can’t talk, and Ralsei and Susie think I am the knight instead of Kris.” Gets dragged into a battle afterwards. “OH COME ON!”
^Yeah. Everything is going to go horribly wrong for the player, because they don’t know about us being their friend.
Yeah things are only gonna get more mildly inconvenient too lol.
(Though, I should clarify something, they don't think the player IS the knight, they think that the player was sent to terrorize the dark world BY the knight. I do admit that the wording is a bit confusing, and I prolly could've been more clear on it.)

They don't have a way to talk to Ralsei and Susie, so if they were to run into them again. Those two are going to seriously hurt the Player if they don't have anything to protect themself. ( I am curious about the sparechange item. )
Holy [cungadero], I legitimately forgot that this was a fan animation for a minute. It feels and looks like an official chapter 3. Looks like I’m hooked on the vessel’s quest to do vessel things
the best part is that this doesn't get invalidated by the spamtom sweepstakes, you can just change the name of the character to Tenna and that's it
I don't plan on changing Mike's name, but there's a certain character that's appeared here that actually IS meant to be Tenna. They don't say their name out loud here, but they do show up.
They'll get a slightly more official introduction in the next part.

I like how it is [Empty] again because the vessel had no save file. While Kris used to have one but the player overwrote it.
Normally, the save file would revert back to Kris' at the start of a chapter. But since you're not in Kris' body, it's an empty file.

This is so impressive. The fact that the character that we made at the beginning of chapter 1 that got discarded is here is just such an interesting idea. If we lose Kris then we will make use of the vessel we desired
I love this so much! the soul being buried on the ground reflecting how it was buried under the couch is a nice detail! and i love the "looking for kris" scenario as you freely walk around as the vessel!

It clearly shows, that was some Toby level humor & animation, though painfully reliant on all of the "Mike" stuff people bought into... I've been trying to tell them not to get their [087 HOPES AND DREAMS] up, but look at who was right all along. Though, at least YOU had the saving grace to make this an AU instead of "Chapter 3 leak!!!(insert funny SFX)"

At the very least everyone could be double wrong, since Tenna was mentioned all of once, and Spamton still refers to Mike as a criminal.
I *do* have another character who's going to pay homage to the whole "Tenna" thing, and hopefully it'll become apparent with time why Spamton seems to hate them so much.

Again, I pointed out that YOU have a critical edge over all of those others: YOURS is *_SPECIFICALLY_* an AU. It doesn't matter that "Chapter 3 Mike" isn't gonna be a thing, cause that's _not what you were going for _*_nudge nudge_*
You weren't making a chapter 3 "prediction" you were just writing your OWN story, so the Sweepstakes doesn't actually have any effect on it.

More or less, yeah. When I'd first come up with the idea for this chapter, I'd assumed Kris didn't put the soul back because the animation that shows it is at the last second of the ending, and mostly covered by smoke. But the idea stuck with me, and it felt like the only way to make Mike an ally who'd betray the team, while also making him an actual antagonist.
My favorite part of this concept is that the vessel is a part of it

I made this in Vegas Pro, with sprites made in Gimp, and music composed in FL Studio.
