Thanks for the upload, about to install the midpipe, I would have walkied around like an idiot when it came to reusing a clamp if it werent for this! Hopefully the headers will come my way around tax return season :D
In all honesty, the stock manifolds look just as good as the BBK shorties. This is why its just worth it to go long tubes, all this work for a shorty header, might as well go long tubes
Thanks for this comment. I just bought a 2011 Mustang GT manual with Brembos and 3.73 gearing. The previous owner added an Airaid intake and Magnaflow exhaust. I wanted to see if he changed the headers, and spent a few minutes looking at the product serial numbers before realizing it was a stock FoMoCo part. It looks like the BBK short pipes like you said.
Wish yall made a video replacing longtubes because yall make it look easy, I mean look at the room you have for your hands I can’t even get a ratchet in there 😂
A custom shop wants $850.00 to install long tubes on my 14Gt. I have no idea if that's even worth it, the headers I was looking at are $600. All that money for such little power gains doesn't seem worth the trouble.
Yeah this is part of the reason I just bought one. The 15's are rated for more power, and I know the IRS on the 15+'s is nice but I wanted something that handled predictably under power. When I rented a 2016 GT Premium Convertible I fell in love with how it drove, but hated how it always wanted to spin me out. I was worried the 2011 with the live axel would be worse, but so far it's been easy to handle when it spins the tires in 1st and 2nd, sometimes 3rd. The 2011 is also supposed to be lighter than the 2015's and up. I haven't gotten as far as switching off TC yet though because I've only really driven honda manuals besides a VW, Subaru, and Saab. None have remotely near the power. I tried to race a BMW M240i xDrive which is 380hp AWD and he absolutely smoked me off the line. 30 car lengths maybe lol. From 60-150 the Mustang is faster but I suck at hitting the shift points bc it feels like it could rev forever. And the 3.73 gears make you have to shift a lot. Im so slow at shifting an Audi S4 beat me in a roll, so I did a 2nd gear launch to avoid having to shift on the next race and put a couple bus lengths on him.
I was told if I have a licensed Ford autoshop install the parts then no it won't. I just got mine two days ago and have 5 years on my warranty. Did you ever change headers?
The car comes stock with a shorty header very similar to the bbk one they are installing. Why would you spend the money and effort for a very small gain. Get the long tube headers if you are going to upgrade. 25-30rwhp gain compared to this crap in video.
I loved seeing bloody hands work on the car. Makes me feel not so bad for scraping my knuckles every time I take something apart.

right ahhahahaa
3:15 This is what your hands will look like after a coyote 5.0L header install!

Sometimes it doesn't but in the long run it'll pay itself I believe
I got the same quote as well. Except I have the same headers as in the vid. I did it myself more so as a learning experience than anything
If you are going to do it do not get shorty headers like this video. Long tubes only... more power and better sound
I got quoted 400$ for Longtubes and Midpipe install lol

Do you recall how long it took you to complete the swap?
Stock 2011 mustang gt supposed to shoot over 412hp to about 435hp according to MOTORTREND and various other sources...

Does this void the factory Ford warranty?

Because you lose tq and they only gain power after 3 000 rpm
In a race you'll never be under 3000 though so it only affects the drivable factor right?
@@scottsome7270 you don't lose any torque. I did longtubes and the car has more torque even down low
