Great video, thx There is a 2014 690 Enduro for sale near me, that has the same set up as you. All my questions were answered here. I have a works Yz250 that smokes all my buddy's 450's, I do a lot of road riding and at 57 its getting to be too insane for me, so the 690 looks like the best of both worlds. Thx again.
And how does the Enduro perform as a supermoto? Any pros and cons concerning the longer suspension travel and damping characteristics, the smaller front brakes etc.
Great video! I bought the smc r but i kinda think that a should’ve got the enduro and put supermoto wheels on. You get best of both worlds. And i like the soft suspension better anyway 😀
I also have the SMCR. I am slowly converting it to Enduro R. I bought the Enduro front forks but they are too far apart to fit the stock wheel. Im wondering if the triple clamps are wider. I know the clamp offset is different but, I would need some very spacers to make it work. Enduro to Suopermoto seems like a much easier conversion.
I have a 2023 690 Enduro R and want to do the same conversion. Could you give me the list of what you ordered, cost and who you ordered them from? I really appreciate your video.
I have a husqvarna 701 2019 I put some orgian sm wheels but the abs doesn’t work on the rear wheel you know it can be leave the pampering abs rings of the enduro wheel
ABS works fine - when purchasing you identify ABS and they send the disks. No, both maps work as factory intended. I figure the speedometer is about 2-3 mph off. I ordered my sprocket to approximate stock, according to gearingcommander.com
I wonder if the rake angle is the same b/n SMR and the converted Enduro. I'm concerned that the geometry is changed + the softer suspension. This bike IMO won't behave and turn like real SMR. And you will likely overheat the front brake if you get a bit aggressive on a twisty road. Not sure if your intent is to be like real SMR. But for daily commuter or not aggressive riding I think this conversion is awesome!
If you buy the super moto 690, and then try to sell it soon after, you will join the ranks of many trying to sell them on CL. A limited audience to sell to it seems. Dealers probably cut deals on the super moto version.------ ------------------------ The SM version "looks so cool" and is "so rad"..................but the appeal seems to fade once the radness wears off.
I’ve been considering supermoto wheels for my 690 but I wonder if the front end feels pitched forward after the switch from the 21 to the 17? I bought my bike with the hopes of hitting the trails but I find myself using it to commute to work and quick trips to the shops more often than I get to go off-road. It’s a great city bike the way it is but I can’t help but wonder if it would be better in a more street trim. Thought about trading it in for the SM but having a set of wheels to swap would be nice.
I also have the 690 Enduro -2020 model, so the grey parts on this bike is white on mine. I am thinking of ordering an SM kit like this in the spring 2024, I drive 70% tarmac and 30% offroad right now but I am thinking about riding 100% tarmac with the SM tires instead, they perform so much better because of them being smaller and more slick but also because the bike gets lower to the ground so a kit like this makes a huge difference. The only thing that makes the Supermoto version handle better than the enduro version with SM kit I think is that perhaps the suspension is different on the Enduro version ? I have the suspension set to the stiffest sport settings now on my 690 enduro and it is still kind of soft when pressing the bike to it's limits. I think stiffer springs for the suspension would suit the bike if you were to mod the Enduro 690 with SM tires.
did you have any problem with the engine error light staying on, I have just fitted a set of 17s with haan hubs to my 2022, my engine error light stayed on after i fitted the wheels, im thinking it may be something to do with the abs. i noticed your rims had the abs rings on them out of the box, after a little research i think i might need different abs rings.
I did not. I will tell you out of the box, I had the wrong ABS ring. I had to call warp9 and they sent me the right rings and it worked perfect after that.
No. When ordering on warp9's website, there is a box you check notifying them you have ABS. They send the correct rings on the rims and the ABS functions plug and play.
I wanted the ratio to be the same between the two wheel sets so I entered all the info on gearingcommander.com and bought the sprocket that was most similar. It's a very useful website. I highly recommend.
No remapping. No change in suspension. I think it could be tuned for on road but for my purposes, I prefer the suspension tuning for off road, on road.
I am thinking about buying the same bike and two sets of wheel too just so I can enjoy pavement only when I want but the rest of the time, I can have a trail bike!
@@normalpeopledoingepicstuff8295 idk maybe I just don't see the point 🤷 But y not get the Supermoto and throw some dual sport rubber on? no spacers required?
These bikes look so much better in Supermoto mode
They are SO much more fun in the dirt. Super Moto really needs 100HP to be fun.
Great video. Thank you for sharing. Did you order your rims tubeless?
That wasn't an option when I placed the original order. Now, Warp9 ships the wheels tubeless.
Hello, please tell me did you use some adapters or additional parts for front/rear brake caliper? Thanks advance
No - the wheelset was plug and play.

hi i found your video while thinking the same think as you. how was after changing the wheel. do you have any video.?
Yes, I've posted some videos on the channel. Check them out.

No question the rake angle changes due to the 17" front tire. I've never ridden the SMC so I can't compare the two.
@@KTM_690_ENDURO It should turn better I guess :)
Did you use 120 on front?

No. I used the same chain.
How well did those Warp9 wheels hold up?
So far, no problems

Did it pitch the bike forward, absolutely. And all that does is make the bike more nibble. It's planted, confident and super responsive.

Hola
Don’t put grease on the treads of the axles it messes up the torque specs and you’ll overtorque
This is false information. Page 79 of the KTM factory manual "Clean and grease the thread of the wheel spindle and nut 2".
Okay. Now your suspension sucks on the street and you have a tiny front brake. You just change the wheels. Thats not a supermoto conversion ;-)
What size is the front Tyre, Did you cut out a section of the fork protector to accommodate tyre between the forks
Yes, I had to cut the fork cover. It shows the end result in the video.
