You started talking about mouseover macros and built-in options but did not mention the built-in option to enable spells to be mouseover casted. It makes all targeted abilities usable with mouseover but for new players to try mouseover as option it is a good start. Later they can write mouseover macros to customize the behaviour further if they want to.
Another topic, but I'd love to see how your managing healing and dps bindings in M+. I have small hands and struggle with modifiers and 20 button mice. Right now I have Clique and macros tied to a G604, and I feel inefficient.
I'd love to watch a healing check video for each dungeon or type of incoming damage and how a healer builds up the check, tagets priorities, allies' CDs check and thing more advanced 🙏

I would love a healcheck video! I just started playing WoW seriously starting this expansion and got very comfortable running the S1 dungeons up to 20s. Everything this season feels much more heal-intensive with more heal checks and all these dungeons are completely new to me so a rundown on strategies for all the healchecks would be great! And to add on to what you said about avoidable damage, I've found a TON of value in getting the Avoidable Damage plugin for Details! It is really helpful in assessing whether or not a death is something you could have prevented or not and thus helping learn and improve your performance.
1) Healbot vs Clique: Very interesting that people opt for Clique over something like Healbot. As someone who's been married to Healbot for years it remains my preferred method. simply on the topic of information. It shows you when people are in range. who has agro is rips agro, which debuffs they have, if someone else is already healing the target. It also shows you the hots that are applied on your raid/group or even your beacons etc. If I were to give it any detractor marks is that if you aren't playing on a large monitor with a lot of real-estae you are often better disabling the default UI so you don't have 2 raid frames to deal with. 2) Normal Mice vs Razer Naga: I grew up playing WoW playing on my old shoddy laptop and few addons. Still pushed my way all the way through Heroic Lich King 25 on that set up. But then I discovered the beauty that was the Razer Naga mouse. Healbot took care of my on demand mouse-over healing with all healing spells bound to left/middle/right and variables by shift/crtl/alt but what about personal defensives, dps abilities, raidwide cooldowns etc? I had to manually smack that shit on my 1-+ bar. With the razer naga I just used (bartender) prior to recent expansion to have multiple 3 by 4 grids that matched the 12 keys on the side of the mouse. Keybind the keys 1-12 with shift,ctrl,alt variables. Now I can not only mouseover heal by pointing and clicking but I can also use the side buttons to caste upwards to 12x3 additional spells without having to let go of the mouse. Conclusion: everyone has their personal set up but I just wanted to share what worked for me if people find the suggested layout in the video less preferential for themselves.
Great video, thanks! Definitely some WAs and addons here i should be using. I also want to mention a plater profile thats helped so much at the start of this season, and is still helping. Quazii plater profile shows and announces all important interrupts, when to use a stop or CC, when frontals are happening and some other important info. Really helped me learn the new dungeons and find out the important interrupts.
Thanks for the Weakaurad. I would also recommend Healer Frames called „Cell“. I found it a few weeks ago and its maybe the best frame ive used so far. It also provides you some additional information like when someone used a healthpot or stone
RE: Healbot not being used in high end content. I am a long-term mythic healer that heavily advocates for Healbot. That being said, I am pretty sure it is but it's a branding problem. I recall other healers saying oh it's too convenient and makes healing too easy. That they want to be pro and therefore deal with the "art" of mouse-over macros and customization and having an addon that simplifies it so much takes the fun out of it. In my personal opinion, it's elitism that has driven people to shy away from Healbot. I'd love to try a different way to heal but having to install 2 WeakAuras + set up manual keybinds to replicate what Healbot already does for me is not really exciting.
I think pretty much the main case for mouseover macros instead of click casting is to create help/harm macros. For example, I have a macro on priest that casts SW:P if targeting an enemy, but Renew if targeting/mousing over a friendly. You can sort of accomplish this with click casting, but not as customizable as the macro in terms of priority. There also are SOME times where I want to heal my target without my mouse being over them (turning the camera etc) so mouseover macros allow casting on target as a fallback. Otherwise, click casting is just simpler to get going for sure.
I am a resto druid healer and I won't lie, I definitely have M+ healer anxiety. I have never tried healing before this xpac and I have been playing since 2004, basically just a month or so after release. It has caused me to have a new-found respect for healers. I chose resto druid as my starting healing class because our guild needed some blanket heals and I had heard the term mentioned with druid healers. I am only iLvl 391 atm but working on getting better. I really appreciate you taking the time to explain what you did. I will definitely be using these tips.

Great video and yeah, please do a healing check video!! The only problem I had with healbot is when someone left or joined the raid during combat, it totally fucked up. Since that is a blizzard issue (healbot dev said) they can do just so much. A few minutes of googling that problem led me to healbot crash protection, it’s waaaay better now. I’m just so used to it, but like every other addon, it can get complicated quickly with custom settings.
I dont do high end content but I do heal using Helium. It has been very useful me but I do like the info you have given. I do use the doom cd addon. I love it on all my toons.
Healbot literally is the same thing as the other add-ons but for some reason it has a negative community perception. People have switched to Vudu and other add-ons due to this even though it's the exact same thing with a different skin. Use whatever you find easiest to configure and like the look of.

I use healbot but I might consider Clique since it seems to work almost the same way and I can get rid of an additional unwieldy frame of healbot. Would love to see healing checks video, certain dungeons I feel a bit pressured to heal everyone when they get low and can't keep up, like the Neltharus last boss when he channels.
I'm so old school. I don't really bother pushing and play just for fun. I've done high keys in my way and it's grand and they have been timed no probs. I'm a clicker and have helium and decursive. It's not maybe what everyone thinks is optimal but it's how I'm comfortable and what I enjoy.

Heal checks video for bosses and thrash in each dungeon would be so awesome. There are not many of those and I think most focus just on specific bosses. I use DoomCooldownPulse addon which works exactly like your WAs for displaying spells which finished their cooldown and it is simple to setup. But I think WAs add more customization if people need them. I still work on my problem with tunnel vision. I am trying to incorporate boss mod timers into my UI so I can time my healing exaclty after mechanic hits, but I tend to heavily ignore them even when they cover my character...

So the healing/damage numbers showing up? I'm still using default but your screen looks a lot more zen...
What I hate about WoW is that it's so much work to adjust your UI, addons, etc. because they actually are necessary. I play every spec (but only prot warrior as main in high end content) and I feel like I have to spend countless hours to just get it all set up. In my opinion the game as it is should come with most of those features pre set or either don't allow but then also not need ANY addons at all.
Healing in mythic+ is just stoo stressful for me everytime i end up doing a high key i turn off my pc cause its never fun for me. Main reason i do it is cause its easier to get invited to a pug or start one.
I use Vuhdo, don't think i've ever heard of Grid2, but i've never done high keys, highest i've done is 8 as i'm too scared to get yelled at. I always saw yours and thought it was Vuhdo as it looks just like it.

Question: can you still get to the proving grounds (as seen in the vid?) I'm returning after many years away except for a short period where I got to use the PG and found it very helpful to practice. I visited the temple in Panderia and class trainers but there's no option. I also have played a bit of WoD timeline as I heard that the PG might be available in your town hall, but so far (level 1 Garrison) it isn't.

i dont like healbot because its click to cast on them which is fast and easy, but it doesnt make you target them so if i want to use something i dont have bound to healbot i still have to click on them in a different way
I've been having issues with afflicted because new friendly mobs that spawn in combat don't get added to my healing frames. So far I have had to just add heals to my bars (which I never did outside of holy shock) just to click them and heal them. Splash healing also works but its not enough output to get them down fast enough. Is there a solution for this? leave it to the dps to dispell them? Also I do use Healbot, I have used it forever and switching from it seems like more hassle than its worth. I have not had the issues with it you described as healbot allows you to completely customize your frames and add skins etc., so maybe the default healbot is the problem.
I would love to be able to use the dungeon weak aura, but I have some neuro issues. I am fine with a static glow, but the pulsing of the borders/icons is an issue. Can anyone guide me on how to disable that portion? I've been exploring with no luck. Thanks!
so i just installed elvui and i like that i can customize alot of the ui. the thing is that i am using vuhdu for my healing. is there a way for me to be able to use the elvui to heal like vuhdu does?
Main healer, but also tank. 8/10 if i see a healer struggling I'll give constructive criticism in the most polite way possible and they take it personally and get angry.... cant win lol
Yesterday i got flamed cuz i didnt interrupt a single time. I'm a Disc priest. And this dude was complaining about my dispells on affix, i done 80 dispells total and a few still pass cuz i was pretty much doing alone. Most important adivice: Have a good mental health or people will piss you off TOO MUCH
Tank here and I agree. While responsibility for doing dmg is distributed among 3 party members, tanks and healers are alone in regard to their roles so you are victim to a lot of blame and therefore need a thick skin. I've gotten party members that initiate pulls on their own and then complain about either dying as a result or missing % at the end of the dungeon when essentially they were messing up my route.
The problem is that Blizzard has made it too easy to gear up, that PUGs are now full of idiot tanks/dps who literally just spam their keys and don’t understand mechanics of pulls etc. But yes, blame healers 😂
this what pisses me off about wow. Everyone doing 5 mans and raids think they are elite players and better than everyone else when the fact is, the only thing they are good at are addons that play the game for them and makes them THINK they are good. Take away addons from all these elites and I would bet money they aren't any better at the game than I am....
WTF is your UI it’s such a clusterfuck 😂 mouse over macros take about 10 seconds each to make. The hardest part about them is finding the correct icon 😂
what a L take .it doesnot take more then 3 mins to make and setup your macros .if you are on wheelchair or a dumb person who cannot go to toilet to pee but has to pee in a bottle or bag for just being lazy then yeah .
As a healer I'm just too terrified to play keys anymore. I'm just so done with all the healing nerfs, God forbid we have it a little easier. Were there any ridiculous % buffs each season in Shadowlands? Like, stamina buffs for players and damage buffs for mobs? I honestly don't remember such stupid shit.

I use healium in high-end content. Doubt, i will ever use anything other than healium. I also use it for my dps and tanks as well.

I healed a dungeon finder group with my new level 12 Monk. No one died but it wasn’t pretty.
I would argue that you need Omnicd to decide who to heal in a Triage situation

HealBot user here. I think healbot is a good basic all in one, but once you invest more time in other addons it becomes obsolete

I found it easier to use a mousover macro for 1 dispell and the second one is done by some dps. Healing them on high keys is too time consuming.
Do the mouse over and keybind work if I use the mouse to move? I dont use wasd for movement

You can use Clique in combinatino with Elvui to do exactly what Vuhdu and Healbot do.

As a healer I'm just too terrified to play keys anymore. I'm just so done with all the healing nerfs, God forbid we have it a little easier. Were there any ridiculous % buffs each season in Shadowlands? Like, stamina buffs for players and damage buffs for mobs? I honestly don't remember such stupid shit.
