Let's be honest here. Some will not appreciate this album, but those who've been with Ed since his first album "+" knew he came back to his roots in songwriting. This is a PHENOMENAL album.
I’ve always liked his music but never been a “fan” per se & I’m in love with this album. It’s come along at the perfect time in my life & so many of the songs speak to my own life experiences. All that to say this album appeals to more people than just his OG fans, he’s definitely found a new fan in me

Life Goes On - What I find so hard is just life resuming so quickly after losing someone close. Days just appear, weeks pass by, and everyone just gets on with it. But I want the world to just stop turning and everyone to notice. Love is so easy to fall into, with friends or partners, it’s easy come. But when it goes it’s so hard to deal with. So that's the easy come, hard go. But in the end, life just goes on.

Veronica I love this song for the music and the lyrics. But what he says about easy come easy go: people always say they want to leave a legacy that people will remember. People don't remember - when you are gone, you're gone. Nobody thinks about you and remember what you did - except for a few close loved ones. Who remembers Michael Jackson - one of the biggest pop stars ever? His legacy is all but forgotten. So the meaning in your life must be something else. And Ed refers to that in one of his other songs "Supermarket Flowers": his mother went to be with God. Ultimately that is where we go if we accepted the Saviour Jesus. Do't miss the most important thing in our lives.

There are no words to express how deep my sorrow is for you, and I can't imagine what you are going through. I truly believe that God has a way of working sometimes that we will probably never understand, and with you I believe he did something heartbreaking in a horrible but also beautiful way. Music seems to mean a lot to you and Ed is perhaps very special to you as an artist so having your Dad give you this gift for August is something special. And this song in particular, and Eyes Closed, I believe was meant for you to help you navigate through this. This song and the fact your Dad got you a ticket to see Ed after his passing is God's way of allowing your Dad to talk to you directly. Your Dad's way of saying I'm here, I'm with you, you can get through this, life goes on.

This and end of youth for me
I just lost my mother, the day before Mother's Day. This song touched every raw nerve in that perfect comforting way. Such beautiful work. She loved his music and we listened to it together often. This will be playing for her when she is laid to rest this week.

Lost my grandma this year, last may 27th, couldn´t be there for her farewell because I lived in a different country now. She was the best person I've ever met, the kindest woman. I was lucky to grow by her side, my heart broke the moment I knew she passed, and I wasn't there, now I have to learn to live without her, with hurt heart, knowing that when I go to her house to visit, she won't be there. This song hits right to the heart for those who have lost someone they loved. Hope all of you there can find comfort at some point, and live a life that make you, and the person you loved so deeply, very proud.

I hope you are doing well now. My wife that i was with since i was 17 left me after 21 years of being together. It was 6 months after both of my parents died. I was devastated. After that everything started to come together. I met an amazing woman, lost 100 pounds, and got a job paying me double than my previous one. Sometimes the end is just the beginning. We've chosen this beautiful track for my daughter's funeral next week. She took her own life following an assault by her ex partner, he smashed a plate in her face and destroyed her right eye.. we are totally devastated, she was so beautiful inside and out, and had so much to live for.. It's been especially different at this time of year. Plus adding to the still raw pain of the loss of my son 17 years ago, he was just 15 😢
I'm so sorry for the loss of your children. I lost my twin boys just over a week ago due to premature birth. While I never had a chance to raise them, they meant the world to me and without them I'm not sure where to go or what to do
They played this in the obgyn when I went in for my follow up and it is both the best and worst time in my life for me to have heard this song for the first time.
