I have a Nikon Z8 and I’m interested in Voightlander lenses that have the mount and I’m wondering is it very difficult to focus on a Z8 I hear all the wonderful things about the ZF and also the Z63 manual focus But since the Z8 doesn’t have it are these lenses not really viable option? I am really interested in the Voightlander 50 f 1. do you have experience with it and would it be a non-starter on the Z8 thanks for your opinion.
Thanks for watching, happy you enjoyed the video. The focusing isn't difficult, you have to be mindful if you are at f1.2 orf1 on the 50, if you plan on hand holding to shoot at those apertures, slight movements could throw off the focus. I would recommend shooting 3-5 frames per second to grab an in focus frame or 2. This would be the case on any camera. The body can compensate for some movement but, you can also fire a couple more shots to make sure. Hope that helps.
It's a really nice lens! I've been having fun with it especially shooting B&W. The Z8 is now set to B&W in photo mode, I updated NX Studio to get the 2 additional monochrome picture profiles on the Zf when I'm editing.

Yep! I really like how Voigtlander lens render and this new 40 1.2 version is really great. Not sure if you saw the video on the Zeiss Otus 1.4/55, that lens is something special.

@@waynerm002 I’m surprised how much I like the lens. It punches way above it’s class. No problem, you can just preorder one on camera quest for their next batch, I can wait. Unless I get a windfall or decide to sell my x100v I won’t have enough for Aprils batch.

I got the zf about a month ago and now I’m saving up for this lens. The 40 f2 lens that came with it will have to do for 4 or 5 months.
