I'm going to keep asking for more because there is a distinct lack of well presented tips for short climbers. This series would definitely fill that gap.
I appreciate this video. I am 5'0 feet tall and I am 36 years old. And I climb on store shelves and I climb on my countertops in my kitchen in my apartment.
So many of my taller climbing friends give me trouble for my weird high foot placement and love of heel hooks to haul myself up, but now I feel so vindicated! ^_^
Climbing tips for short people. This is literally exactly what I've been searching for online for hours the past few days! Thank you for posting this! Can't wait for more :)
5'2 here, thank you very much for this! My husband is 5'9 and we see our differences very much when he shows me how to climb a trail. He often skips footsteps automatically and as he is a contructor, he has a lot more strenght than me.
As soon as I saw the Napoleon Dynamite reference I clicked like straight away. And, then I sent this vid to my wife - who’s the same height as Mandii. Thanks for the great vids.
I just started climbing and everything with farther-spaced holds seemed way out of reach (pun intended?). Just climbing normally was frustrating because my arms always felt way more tired than I thought they should. Now I know why! Can't wait to try this.
I’m 4’10(named Mandy as well lol) and I definitely have some routes that take me longer to complete than taller people because it may take me a few more moves to get it. Glad you made this video! 👍🏼
Keep this series up man! I'm a new climber and you definitely have helped. Hopefully I catch you at pipeworks sometimes! That's where I go here and there. I bounce between that and the boulder field
Amazing, need to show it to all my short friends. Will there be one for taller climbers especially in packed/tight places where shorter people really feel good?
I have a lot of trouble rocking my body over my high foot, especially when it's higher up on a route, the fear element makes it worse 😰 Do you have any tips on how to improve on the rocking over motion? I've had several projects I couldn't finish because of that one issue
Sometimes if it's a slab you can press down on your higher thigh or knee using your arm and push yourself over your high foot using your other arm keeping your core engaged
Whatever happens, please dont ever start videos with "hey guys" or end them with "like comment subscribe and hit that notification bell, my dudes". Your videos are too good for that.
I would definitely like to see the tips for tall people. I’ve been having trouble with boulder problems in which I have to be very compressed and I can’t get enough power from my legs to make the next moves
Work on shoulders. The moment in your shoulders will be higher than that of a person who is short. That plus shoulders are some of the most commonly injured places. Also focus on static climbing. Taller people tend to climb more dynamically because our endurance is worse but once you get to slopers that you have to deadpoint close to staticly we don't have the strength to go to it slowly.
Would love to see such a series for taller people. AKA how the f*** am I supposed to do some of those compression starts xD At 6'4" you start getting major draw backs from not fitting between some holds.
I used to think being short is a disadvantage in climbing, but then I noticed the average height of top pro climbers is lower than the average height of the population.
High feet and becoming more comfortable with being dynamic is what works for me. I'm 5'8 and I struggled a lot with getting over the "I'm too short to reach that" phase of climbing. The only excuse I have now is that I'm not strong enough, which is more motivating!
Are you drinking 1% because you think you're fat? Cause you're not. You could drink whole if you wanted to! Appreciate the tips and the reference. Thanks! :)

They're just jealous that they can't do it like us
LOVE this! As a 4'6" climber it's good to know I'm not alone!

Tall climber here, stealing the short people's dirty tricks.
How dare you?
When will episode 2 come out? I followed the channel specifically because I was excited about this series.
It's out!
5'2 here, thank you very much for this! My husband is 5'9 and we see our differences very much when he shows me how to climb a trail. He often skips footsteps automatically and as he is a contructor, he has a lot more strenght than me.
Please keep making these videos! These are so helpful for short climbers like myself (5ft)
Hell yeah! It’s the little details in which you highlight which makes the biggest difference.
I love your vids keep up the great work. Super tall 5’3” climber waiting for the next episode! 😉
I am so glad I found this! Everything was explained and demonstrated well. I often get confused and have to play videos over and over again.
LOL’d at The Napoleon Dynamite reference. Also I’m very noob in climbing and am enjoying your videos and learning alot.
As soon as I saw the Napoleon Dynamite reference I clicked like straight away. And, then I sent this vid to my wife - who’s the same height as Mandii. Thanks for the great vids.
Yes definitely need more of this!
Found your channel recently and I really like it. Keep up the great content man! Will definitely try this

Loving the videos. Would you consider doing one on preventing finger injury or dealing with finger injury if you already have it from pushing harder?
Kimberly Miller types of finger injury too, my fingers hurt weirdly since i can still climb but certain holds hurt
As a short climber, I really appreciate these videos! Great guidance
Wow, simple and short videos, with details and great demonstration! Keep up the good work!

This is great! I'll also love to see some slightly shorter climbers, as I'm 4"11, there's many times where I feel I need an inch or 2 to send climbs.
priscillalalalah just dyno, u can do it
@@miguelcastorena4293 haha, I'll try my best.
This one is totally made for Rizzelle. Great job as always brotha!
Just found it and being 5'1'' I feel so grateful for this video!!! Thank you!!
Amazing, need to show it to all my short friends. Will there be one for taller climbers especially in packed/tight places where shorter people really feel good?
2:09 How much you wanna make a bet I can throw a football over them mountains?

I’m not even short but have trouble reaching some holds, I’m totally going to try this. Thanks for the info

@@joshburger2217 I'm trying to visualize it in my head and I think I can understand it. I'll try it next time on the routes I'm having trouble with!
More please!!!!!
Patiently waiting for episode 2 and 3... Though that patience won't make me taller so... Make some please? :P
Is there more episodes in this series?
Super useful, thanks!!
Whatever happens, please dont ever start videos with "hey guys" or end them with "like comment subscribe and hit that notification bell, my dudes". Your videos are too good for that.
now we need this for tall climbers as well, like 1.90 and upwards.
Great lesson. Thanks!
your videos are worth the watch just for the narration
Great vids! Would be good if you had playlists setup :)
I need more episodes!! 😰😭😭
This video makes me happy
Mandi!! I met her once and she's so sweet and strong!
persimmonyglitchet 💕
Very helpful!
Any opinions on climbing shoes and climbing shoe rubber? What do you prefer and for what situations?
yess!! this is great!

Thanks! So helpful. Someone cares about short ppl finally! 😇
as a tall climber I will use this to enhance my ability to skip holds

Thank you for the tips!!!!! This helps a lot - cute climber @ short
More please
Please make more videos for short climbers
where is episode 2?
love the napoleon dynamite reference
That's great! I've always found it to be a disadvantage to be short while climbing. Hopefully this Will even the odds 👍
Sometimes I use footholds for hands lol
rockover is a life changer

Yet another shorty here who liked the video. One critique is that you didn't really define the term "high feet" but you used it throughout the video.
Where's episode 2?
Episode 2?
As a tall climber whenever I climb something that forces high feet I'm always like "hmm yes this body position is simply not optimal"
👍
You need flexibility to climb in the inside edge like that
Do your frog stretches!!
How tall are you?
i see napoleon dynamite reference, i upvote
How about a video for tall climbers? >6‘5
tip #1: dyno
for real tho. short people need to jump more if there is no other way, which on a lot of climbs like stained glass = mandatory jump or good luck
Just commenting for the Napoleon Dynamite reference. Lol Use those talons bro
Are you drinking 1% because you think you're fat? Cause you're not. You could drink whole if you wanted to! Appreciate the tips and the reference. Thanks! :)
and so, do shorts climbers climb better then talls climbers? let's go!!! :)
Here’s a tip for short people:
Just grow taller😂
this is a joke by the way
Thank you so much for showing a short person! I have hope and no excuses!
Thank you!
