A manual handbrake would have been better, particularly with the manual gear variant. Ford not making much headway in interior quality and design but they get the engineering right which is more important.

I still like watching the ST reviews. We had the last model before the face-lift and it was very fun! We ended up ditching the five cylinder and going for the V8 mustang 😂. Great review btw

I’d argue the seats are worse, the larger main screen is good but I’d much rather the mk4 analog dials than the basic, cheaper to make digital dash Ford use. Ford need to make the digital dash customisable like Audi etc.
A deal breaker for me is the ugly square touch screen display. It looks like an afterthought. My 2017 ST mk3 has the satnav etc nicely integrated into the dash.
Cheap interiors on Fords is not a new thing. But you don't buy an ST or an RS for it's interior and trimmings - you buy one for the driving experience of having a fast Ford. If you want a fast hatch with a nicer interior, get a Golf but you'll pay more. And if you want better interior than a Golf, get a Merc or an Audi or a Beamer! Countless ST and RS reviews over the years all comment on Ford's cheap interior and their famously squeaky door panels and dash. But almost every one of those same reviews remark how a fast Ford puts and smile on your face like it's rivals never can, and how for many motoring journalists the Ford comes out on top for the driving experience. I have experience of a fast Golf and a fast Focus and although the Golf was miles ahead in terms of it's interior, the Focus wins hands down in terms of being the far more engaging car to drive and more fun
Maybe the interior is bad, but the drive performance is was better than a Audi, Mercedes or BMW. And seriously, how often you touch the interior? The important thing is how drive a car and Ford is incredible good. I have sell my ST MK3 for a a4 allroad from 2020 and i regret it, the ST was way more funnier.
The end is nigh focus to stop in 2025. Why do we need these boy racer cars with the current speed limit cameras and emission limits. Out dated dinosaurs
@@MattHealey. civis are 60+ k euros in my country in Europe, payment ahead and waiting time over a year. Focus is around 45k euros, waiting time around 3 months.
Another excellent, and thorough review!!
Many thanks for watching and your support, Werdna!
Top review thanks. I have a 2020 mk4 and surprised I've still got my licence. Its fast!!!!!
I’ve got one and I LOVE it!!!
Fantastic to hear Ian!
Another great vid. I miss having an ST. Not had one since the epic 2.5 mk1. Might get this one

Any chance of a Focus ST Track Pack review? So little content available at present on this package.
Many thanks
Great review of this car….I pick up my white i20N this week 🎉 and still I think correct choice in my opinion although the ST is amazing too👍
Fantastic to hear, Mark! We wish you the best with your i20N 🙏
I have the mark 4.25. I prefer it over the 4.5
I prefer the Recaro seats
I had the 2015 and was always being beat by the golfs i found that the car just couldn't performed over distance do u feel that its changed?
The powershift 7 speed is a dual clutch pretty sure these a regular autos

Does it still pump fake sounds into the cabin that was only thing i hated about the 2015 thing

The 2.0 engine is the better engine cant deny that maybe not the fastest but chassis wise steering feel there aint no equal for the same price
Why’s the rear door a different shade of green 😠
These are now 8 grand more than a new one from 2019…I paid £28k for one (69 plate) they are definitely not worth an additional 8,000 pounds,
They are €60k here in Ireland.. Certainly not worth anything near that price unfortunately.
@@meangreenst3 🤦🏻♂️
has ford resolved the transmission issues?
Well as far as auto boxes go I believe I read the are in collaboration
with the VAG group so noooo.
What happen to the on dash pod , come on FORD , disappointing
1:12 what?
I love the way Focus cars drive, but I think they have compromised reliability with this three pot engine!
2.3L four cyl. Focus ST not fiesta ST.
I had the 2012 st focus eco boost my 4 slow car for all the horses it suppose to be. Mk2 much better. Now my option for Ford it’s rubbish
cheap plastic everywhere come on Ford u can do better surely? no thanks then.

95% of cars have plastic interior which feels cheap, what have you been driving 😅
Every car has cheap plastics? I'm sure your grandad car probably has better quality but it'll be comfortable for you when you pop your clogs
@hutch5991 unless you drive a 100k car on something luxurious you'll find cheap plastics. Even a lamborghini has cheap interior in places
Maybe the interior is bad, but the drive performance is was better than a Audi, Mercedes or BMW.

This sort of car is perfect for where I live. Miles of twisty b-roads, national speed limit, no cameras. I'll miss them when they're gone.
Civic is a leap considering it’s thick end of 50 grand.
Because they are fun to drive. I'll be keeping my petrol ST going as long as is humanly possible. EV's? No thanks....

Love my mk4 ST Estate. Practical fun powerhouse 😁
