Congratulations on your first video. The Funduro came first in 1993/4 and the facelift came in 1997 with some cosmetic changes and the introduction of the ST which had a 18 " rather than a 19" front wheel and the narrower and lower handlebars. Seat was a little lower and the suspention dodn't go up and down as much. I have a Funduro, have had an ST, a GS and a Dakar, so the full set at one point or another. Love the curved looks of the Funduro/ST and a lovely bike to ride.
I bought a 1999 Funduro as my first bike in my 20s. 30,000kms in 3 years before it was written off in an accident (guy turned in front of me, I wasn’t hurt bad as I slid past the car, bike bounced off it). Wonderful analog feeling bike that is simple enough you can learn to wrench on it and develop your skills as it has no electronic aids. But this bike is not only for beginners. I found an identical 1998 one years ago and did a full restoration. I made some suspension upgrades and have customized it to be my “trip” bike. It’s the ride I take when I am doing back roads with camping and multi day adventure trips. I love it! Maybe I will finally get some video content on RUclips of it. Enjoy it! And don’t ever get rid of this bike. I tried a bunch of different bikes after the accident. And in my stable of 4 bikes right now, it’s a lifelong keeper. It’s like the dorky adventure version of an older 7:25 Harley Davidson. Somewhat basic and visceral feeling, full of character. Not fast, not slow.
Nice first video 🤩 That 750 africa twin and Tenere are both beautiful bikes, I would love to one day own one of them. Keep up the good work with your videos, can’t wait for the next one.
That's a good question. Strada is the bike that I was riding on in the video. It's more road oriented, and the Funduro is more offroad oriented. I'll go in more detail on the bikes separately in the next reviews. Seeing this is my first video, I'm still testing the waters and finding my rhythm.
