Done bro
Tip: if you are cruising at high speeds, put more of your weight (not all of your weight) in your back foot to go over pebbles or stop rocks easier. 👍
ty
Thank you so much for this so I don’t die
Ceramic bearings help with that too, they tend to kick gravel out from under the wheel rather than seize and throw you over the nose. I just lift my front foot a little for sticks and stones as I ride back foot heavy to keep the balance point towards the rear to help keep the speed up.
ayyee thanks man
@@Si74l0rd i don't see how they would help
I actually got into skating because my parents got me a ripstick back in the day. I really enjoyed it and rode it until the bearings come apart. I even learned to drop into the bowl at my local skate park as well as ollies and board slide grinds. After it broke, I wanted to skate more stuff so I got a real board instead.
Bro dropping in on a ripstick is mad impressive. Gotta respect
You should take a look at this free skating stuff. Its bonkers, but if your good at a ripstick its not a far stretch.
@@lochnessspeedwerkz6557 I've tried free skates since my brother has some. They did feel very familiar to the ripstick.
@@lochnessspeedwerkz6557 saw the youtubers who do freeskates .crazy.
I like how for each bad item braille has it, and has a video about it.
Fr
likely where he got the idea...braile's idiotic.
@@user-sw1wq8lh2w Braille Skateboarding is not cool? I used to watch this channel many years ago, the guy was cool and had nice tutorials ^^
Braille are the worst
Braille 🛹 are not the worst! The blue Braille skateboard came with abec bearings and decent wheels for a beginner and at $17-30 you more than get your $$ worth. Their Pro Completes are great and I still use the Pro woodgrain board only has thunder trucks and spitfire 54s, I ride transition & for transportation somedays
if you didn´t know, ripsticks weren´t made for doing tricks. They were made to do cruise and street surfing. In my opinion, when one type of skateboard can't do tricks is because is meant to do other type of things, like long boards, cruisers, surfskates, etc...
He criticises basically anything that isn’t a skateboard for not being able to do tricks like a skateboard EVEN BIKES 😂 like a bikes primary function isn’t completely different.
These comparisons are kinda weird imo. Its like saying a long board is a bad invention because you cant do skateboard tricks on it. You cant just take a product and say that its a bad invention because it doesnt meet the standards of a totally different product.
Yeah I noticed too that some of the things he’s saying is revolving more around skateboarders who do tricks and if the board can’t do tricks(even tho commuting and cruising are a thing too)it’s a totally bad invention.
@@omgitspatsworld4626 "oh yeah you surf? yeah youre totally lame because they cant do the same tricks as a skateboard, 0/10 worst product ever"
yeah, seems sorta stupid to me
what are you on about these products are very obviously lame and advertised as replacements for skating
ripsurfs are badass imo. I hit 27 mph on one while carving. There are things you can do on ripsticks that you can't do on skateboards, and vice versa. I think they're both good
Same
Saw a dude with a ripstick on Friday when school ended and I couldn't believe people still had those
imo
Same
I respect people doing tricks on ripsticks, 2 wheels instead of 4, takes crazy skill
Tip: of you want a good skateboard that mimics surfing then a carver is your best option. I have one island that thing is probably one of the best skateboards and most fun skateboards I've ever used before e
ripstiks should have been marketed to snowboarders tbh, the foundation they give you is huge and its a good way to learn torsional twist for sharp turns on steep slopes👍
yeah that actually would've worked
As a longboarder who frequented 20+ miles a day, kicked with either leg, a push stick was the champ for building upper body, also made going up long hills way easier.
Also, ripsticks CAN be pretty sweet.
Absolutely! It allows you to go farther and exercise more muscles. For me, kicking is not always ideal and sometimes risky (balance, rocks, bikes, cars, or even because my board doesn't track straight.) It's much more enjoyable to be able to keep my feet planted.
Hey, I skated suspension trucks for an extended amount of time here's the pros: they actually do pop a little more, and the control on grinds feel very smooth, and the impact absorbtion is awesome
Here are the cons: they are a little pricey, and the biggest con because of the construction they're a little difficult to install
Overall are getting used to suspension trucks I really love them
The cons aren’t even that bad
i thought it was a great product tbh
The push sticks could be good for accessibility, for people who don't have two legs or who struggle with the pushing motion. Helps more people skate!
Its more for longboarders, surfskate people, and standup paddle board simulation same with hamboards. Sad how out of touch you bowl boys with your tiny little wheels are.
it's literally a stick.... for 120$....
The skateboard peddle can help people learn how to ride both ways
I’m ashamed to say that I totally wanted a morf board as a kid
I think the hoverboard was more designed to be just casual travel, not for tricks. Which, if you used it just as a traveling device, it prob wouldn't explode so much.
pretty sure it was designed as a quick cash grab fad and they succeeded
i mean that thing clearly wasn't designed for any practical purpose whatsoever
You left out the SnakeBoard from the 90's. It was basically a 4 wheeled Ripstick. I saw one guy that had one when I was like 9 and when I got one for Xmas, not a single friend or other person ever came across me with another one. Even today, never seen one again. I spend my adolescents at skatparks. Mine didn't have straps cuz I wasn't trying to take a dirt nap
I remember those
Check out BrailleSkateboarding, they got some vids on snake boards
you spend your adolescents?
Yo fluff you ripsticks r AWESOME.
I love rip sticks though I don't think it's like a skate bord but I still love ripsticks
2:13 that’s definitely not the target market but good try tho. Long boards exist too 😧
Thank you! I was looking for a good car I could afford, an you showed me. I looked into it and the Honda Civic LX is my first car.
No way hahah nice
lol imagine somebody asking how did you decide on your first car and you say, " from a skateboarding channel on youtube"
What you call a summerboard is also know as a freeboard and as no batterry and meant to be use on downhill roads, it feels like snowbarding and is extremly fun. let's not mix things as its a real product that gives you much different sensation that a regular board and doesnt cost as much as the electric one you showed. peace
I do love em both!
I second that. Do wear a helmet ;)
You ever skate 30 plus miles in a day? I've skated long distance on the regular and it kills you joints going from pushing to standing after a while. I just made a paddle a few weeks ago and it's been great being able to put some of the load on my upper body, I'm not dead by the time I get to a spot and it's like getting pushups in when you pass bikes without your feet touching the ground. Might not look all that cool, but I could give a shit I got a big-ass stick. Next project is making one with a chainsaw engine.
get an electric board, problem solved
@@ewillathaflippa why would I get a board that's only good for transportation when I can make all boards good for transportation. Those batteries are made by wage-slavery, I ain't about that. Besides the fact that a decent e-board cost as much as a used car, for the price I'd rather get the car and drive somewhere to skate where there are no outlets for buzz light-year mf's to plug into.
@@declinetostate938 I agree about the price, but I would like a Onewheel for transportation purposes. That's a smooth, no effort ride, shame they're so expensive, but you get something a little more unique for the money, and they're excellent off road.
@@Si74l0rd eew
@@declinetostate938 Really? Man, I love bombing hills on my regular skateboard, and in the summer I ride grassy or dirt hills, but on a standard skateboard it's tricky, on a Onewheel it's easy with that fat off-road pneumatic tire lol. And they look better than the skateboards with giant wheels and straps for your feet lol.
The push stick, in my opinion, is more for upper body workout.... At least that's why I use mine 🤣
Dam that six wheeled snow/skateboard looked cool, wish they weren't so much tho
That's one specific product, there are non electric versions called "freeboards."
The paddle is ment for longboarding and it mimics paddle boarding
Thanks for sharing and putting up this video. Great info!
personaly I think the snowboard-skateboard hybrid is useful for people who dont really want to trick around with their board or people who just want to ride around in groups, It's not as stressful for the muscels so in my opinion its okay, if you just want to ride around the city. still, a bit pricy so ye
i can see the skate paddle being cool if it is marketed towards specifically, the long-boarders who also paddle board and surf, and i can see the bumper dams being useful in theory, to push wheel-stopping pebbles out of the way for a newbie or someone who has poor balance to begin with to help them, until they can develop better balance , then work on navigating debris and small obstacles.
I was never in the skater crowd or doing tricks. I got a ripstick mini as a kid and a longboard later in life. In my mind they're just alternative products with a different purposes. I love the comfortable and easy of use for linger commutes.
Side note for one of the ending clips:
I did construction for around 15 years and have seen people skate furniture dolly’s more than a few times. Down ramps, one footed, one guy did handstands and I have even seen someone do an atrocious yet acceptable Ollie. I have NEVER seen a successful flip trick attempt let alone a SOLOD kick flip. Whoever that guy is give him a sponsorship like now!
The push stick is good for coming back off knee surgery. After my last knee rebuild I didnt have the quad strenth to push but the push stick got me skating alot faster.Just my opinion. Stoked Ride Shop is AWSOME.
it's literally just a stick
also i'm calling bullshit there's no way you went and bought a stick and started using it to push with after you had knee surgery. That's not how any of that works at all.
ive been watching this channel since it first came out keep up the good work
This channel is almost 2 years older than yours lol
@@steezyconnor3472 he prob switched accounts genius
Quinn, that’s all cap
a good alternative to the summerboard is the freeboard or better yet the freeboard 5x as it is much cheaper and supposedly feels more like a snowboard, the only downside is that it is not electric and would be ridden more like a longboard.
They're not very fun to ride on flat land. Summerboard can go anywhere, which is a lot of fun. The price point just sucks.
Suspension trucks and a rock buster with broom bristles instead of a plow, would be great for long rides on eBoards
I have a rip surf not sure where I go it but it's pretty fun to just ride around the yard
I feel that I was attacked a little bit here😝. I can’t, for the life of me, ride a skateboard for any longer than five seconds, but I find it early easy riding a rip stick. 🤣🤣🤣
I can honestly see a niche market for skateboard paddles: I just recovered from a knee injury, and I'm still being really careful about how much pressure I use on it, and on my stance/posture to keep from adding stress to it. I see the skate paddle as a good way for boarders to get by when they've hurt their knee whilst skating, or older skaters who are developing lower joint issues but don't want to give up the board. Definitely not an average skater's everyday use- but could be helpful to people who are feeling the effects of age, or really messed their knee up from a noncommittal attempt at a difficult trick which hurts your knee. Just sayin.
bullshit
if you need a stick to push with after knee surgery then your knee hasn't healed enough for you to skate with OBVIOUSLY.
More accurate title: things that I have not tried but do not like
Riding a ripstick, or as the oldies remember, wave boards, is much harder than skateboarding. But they're not meant to be used as skateboards. They're made to just cruise around.
There should be some kinda brush that attaches to your trucks so u can skate around and brush stones out the way
I used to have a spark strip on mine I loved and worked real well
nice video, keep up the good work.
Shoe goo is the goat of skateboard products. I love that stuff
Silly that it's called Shoe Goo but doesn't bond to leather (maybe use superglue on the leather first). What are some of the ways you have you used Shoe Goo?
I was a beta tester for the houkie shoe protector, honestly they were cool I had two sets the first ones were black thicker rubber harder to put on but better board feel, grip and durability, the drawback on these ones were that they were too tight around my toes and they hurt after a few hours and they also left wrinkles on the shoes toe, and black on the white side soles…
The fact that they were harder to put on caused me to rip on although it didn’t effect them functioning
then I received a pair of clear ones, easier to put on but the push foot would slip off my heel, was also tight on toes I just cut a section out to correct this issue, but ultimately the reason I stopped wearing them was the slipping off my heel… they were great improvement to flick and board feel was unaffected, and they lasted a long time but they like most of the shoes I buy the soles wore out before the uppers..
They could just make better shoes but they rather just have all our money instead
board with wheels for land: skateboard
board with fin for water: surfboard
board with foot straps so u dont fall: snowboard
stick with rip for trash: ripsticks (they rip)
(the good working hoverboard in my closet vs the used and faded out skateboard i use)
Letttsss goooo new skate box vid!!!!!!
Those rubber shoe covers would be dope so my shifter on my motorcycle don’t mess up my kicks
I'm a scooter er but I LOVE your channel you are the only one I watch
I have a morf board. The deck is gardage and heavy, but the trucks are amazing. Great bearings and wheels. So i took the trucks and slapped them on a regular deck and it worked beautifully.
P.S I manages to ollie that 10 ton thing and when I ollied on the regular deck I almost flew away
P.S.S the trucks are made of metal obviously
This video was waaayyyyy to on point
I am for saying thatI love watching your videos I watch them almost every day
I'm 72 years old and my Land Paddle helps me cruise the boulevard on my long board while listening to the Beach Boys on my portable 8 track boom box.
skate paddels are for longboards so you can paddle SURF on the land
this video is like my teenage kids texts. dont need your thought bursts every 2 seconds 🤣 just do the video
..and perhaps ponder the importance of community and non digital communication now and again 😅
I guess the rock deflector would be ok on cruiser boards bit as a skateboarder I can see why not to use. new sub 👍
I got the morphe board at a discount store for 24$ for the whole set, definitely terrible but glade I got it for so cheap
I picked up a paddle but not just for boarding. My upper body gets a great workout with it and for longboarding it is nice to just cruise for a bit along the river without so much pushing. I also think this would be good for people with mobility issues like arthritis in the knees.
You know you can pump a longboard for speed right? I can literally go uphill pumping. Great abb workout lol.
@@Edward-ju1vj you mean you can use you legs on those things? Don't insult my intelligence. Did you even read my post kid?
@@rodneybever9583 Your buying a stick to push with... I'm pretty sure their is no intelligence to insult. I was just trying to help.
@@Edward-ju1vj Oh, just the abs? 🙄😒
For ripstiks, I read somewhere they are good for simulating snowboarding. I’ve never been snowboarding so I can’t attest to the similarities, but that shit is still fun af to carve around on
the worst scam is the paddle, i even saw skaters with no legs in video, they use their arms to push, and do jumps and tricks.
The others, meh.. need a lots of improvements, or not appealing to me.
The summer board seems really nice, and i'd like to try that, but yes, too much expensive, although it's electric. but still, a few weeks holiday in winter are expensive too, to go snowboarding, the travel, the hotel, the rent or buying of a snowboard, and the disadvantage, it has to be in winter, in mountains, you have to put holidays for it.
The summer board can be used everytime in the year, even for a few hours here and there
All kinda boards, but didn't u forget the Snake-Board?
I’ve been skating since I was four, that paddle is something I’ve thought millions of times. Skateboarding is just in parks you kook, that would be mad nice downhill with carver trucks. Just had to say my piece since you’re ragging the paddle so hard.
Isn’t*
I remember when I was a kid there was some shoe company that made shoes for sliding down rails, I wanted them sooo bad. Looking back on it now, it seemed like a dumb idea and I don't blame my parents for never buying me a pair.
Soap shoes they were called I had some but couldn't grind lol
By seeing the swelltech (8:40) as the best option for surfskate, I defo knew that this is one of the best vid of worst skateboard products
i love your videos!
4:38 dude ripsticks are much much harder to ride then a skateboard
another tip- when your skateboarding bend your knee’s a whole bunch of times and it will help you keep going longer :)
Damn, that summer board looks hella fun ngl....
On the skateboard paddle. After years of skating I have a pretty strong lower body but my arms are still noodles. I always felt like skateboard paddles could be a good way to get some upper body in while still doing the thing you love. 🤷
Man really said riding a ripstick is easier than skating😂 I’d like to politely disagree
it is for me
it's so much easier, and more fun on hills too
I think it’s easier but that might just be me
Tbh it was easier for me but that’s definitely BC I started skating way before I tried the rip stick a bit (still skate more btw) and the rip stick was easier
exactly. How is it easier???
I wrote a comic called devil pebble when I was 14. It was about a bad ass skater punk who battled it out all the time with devil pebble skater punks arch rival and enemy who was out to destroy skater punk with his clan of street pebbles as well as other's who skate. I only made like 1 drew up 1 copy but it was supposed to be ongoing but i never kept up with it. That is hilarious I reckon you would get laughed at for having that contraption on your board😂😂
For the deck board the balloon looking thing that you can out on it it’s for trampolines my cousin got one of those it’s kinda cool
hoverboards i dont think are that bad. you just need to get a good quality one
I have something like the summer board or what’re but it’s shaped like a snow board and it has the coaster wheels too it’s rlly hard to ride when I was six
The board at the end looks very similar to mine. Made from a 2x6, but I curved the edges slightly
As soon as I saw the Summerboard I knew I wanted one.
Skate pedal is awesome but definitely not worth the price. I have one made of old bamboo pole and tennis ball xD
Z rollers!, Nose/tail guards, plastic truck protectors, the birdy? (Plastic 45° protector that prevents trucks from hanging up).
Carving on a rip stick felt so good though
Someone knows what the surfboard with green wheels is ? (8:42) thx
I don't remember the name of the company but back in the 90s, a truck company came out with tricks that instead of the wheels being held on with a nut, they were held on with a C clip, which constantly fell off and you had to carry extras with you, the didn't last long in the market.
I want to start skating what would be a good board to try
i gotta say tho, ripsticks were awesome. of course as a skateboard replacement its completely dumb, but i had so much fun just cruising around with my friends
Rip sticks are fun until the wheels shred off. The thing that gives you movement is pumping. So you’re just grinding them poor scooter wheels to dust
I had a friend who was kind of an entrepreneur… some successes… some fails… his BIGGEST fail was buying 300 hoverboards in 2011 thinking they were only available in China. Whoops.
Where and what skate shoes cost 25$?? In Canada (quebec) more like 100-150!
To preserve your shoes better when skating, I think painting on a few layers of flex might actually do the tric.
I'm an old man. 37 years of skateboarding. We used to take scraps of old bicycle tubes slap them on the ollie area with shoe goo and stitch around the outside of it when our shoes wore down. It takes a bit of work, but you'll get at least another month out of your shoes.
@@mikecynic5167 That's amazing. I was never able to ever skate, though I was always around folks that did so I would help out taking pics or gluing scraps of cloth to their shoes. I think I'll finally give it a go when I have the money though I'm still really worried since I do have a blood condition.
Though the thing that gave me that push to actually do it now was a social media post of a dude with the same condition I have that skated all his life, not super insane things but miner tricks and the like.
I'll definitely keep your idea written in my notes! thanks!
the sumerboard is the only thing i’d probably ask to get
Love the videos keep up the good work 👍👍👍
I bought a paddle for my longboard just because I have a heavy permanent injury on my right ankle that really limits how much I can use my right leg to push myself long distance so for a regular skater the paddle might be useles but for injured or limited skaters like myself it's a god send I don't have to stop doing what I love wich is cruising along and skate with my son tricks and hill bombing are out of the menu for me after the Injury but at least I'm still on my board
I owned a pair of suspension trucks. They deff gave u more pop idk what u mean. Also they did feel smoother rolling and grinded faster. Heavy tho u right. Only stopped skating them bc i started to prefer tight trucks and those feel constantly bouncy
That electric summerboard people are complaining about the price when that’s the price of a snowboard deck lol
I actually started skating from a ripstick. I was walking home from work and found a rib stick on the side of a highway. And took it home. I never really skated before that so I didn’t have much experience so every day I would just try. I spent hours upon hours upon hours trying to learn how to ride and I finally did. And it’s worth it because it’s very nice to ride. right now I skate on my longboard and my skateboard. And all I Gotta say is rip sticks are definitely the harder want to learn but when you get it down it’s pretty fun.
the worst skate invention is skateboard with wings and shoes attached to the skateboard
I actually got my Ripstick over 2 years ago, I paid 30 euros, waited like half a week and the only thing damaged is the back wheel but it didn't break, it's just "well used"
I have never been a skater, but the summer board looks somewhat fun.
The rip surf is way more close to surfing on land then a skateboard
This amazing👍
The suspension Truck are really sick. I have two friends who ride them on street and Miniramp. And they are rocking this Trucks.
hey guys im trying to learn my first ollie, how did you guys learn?
Awesome vídeo , but those itens give me alot of stress
