I'm glad you're moving. I guarantee that the owner is well aware of the mold problems. I rented a house once that was similar. When we moved out, I cleaned like a crazy woman. When the owner did the walk through, she was amazed that the house was free of the mold! We lost so many things that were ruined!

I agree, 4 hour drive is not that long in America! We do a 5 hour drive every month to my in laws so they can see the baby. Anything 8 hours and over is what we would feel starts being a long trip.

Could your allergy doctor get you out of the contract because of the huge health issues Liana has? That's how it works here in the US.
It could definitely help, especially as Conner has Asthma I believe?? And the baby.
It may not be enough, but the fact the house wasn’t as described and you could argue it was deliberately hidden, as you/they would never have bought a place with such big and expensive issues, and issues that could harm them and their new child.

A sauna may be the answer to your skin problem liana. Your skin was beautiful after the sauna. Saying that, I personally think your skin always looks lovely. I think this was a much needed few days break after the stresses of the house drama. I just love your videos ❤

There's probably mold which you can't see and can be very harmful to your health. I moved into an apartment that had mold between the plasterboard and I became so sick I had to be hospitalised. Within 2 months I found a new apartment for my Son (who was 6) and I and started legal proceedings against the company who owned the building. My neighbours beside me had specialists come in to check the air quality in their apartment because they were always dizxy. The apartment was full of invisible mold and deemed uninhabitable and I suspect I would have gotten the same result. I moved, I even had 2 letters from Doctors stating that the unit was making me ill. As I started to sue because the company said I abandoned my apartment and had to pay a years rent, the law society of upper Canada went on strike. I was still going to go through with the legal proceedings; I wasn't asking for any money, I just wanted out of if the lease. My Father decided to pay the year's rent for me instead of having me wait forever for my time in court. I was diagnosed with Lupus not ling after we moved and I always thought that the 2 months living in the moldy apartment triggered it. I'll never know. I'm glad your moving even though it's an inconvenience. Health is the #1 priority for your family.

What a gorgeous place! Yes, here in California it isn’t much to drive from the San Francisco Bay Area down to Los Angeles. It takes about 5 hours. I currently live in Northern California so it would take me all day(about 8 hours) to drive down to Los Angeles. We don’t have to worry about the weather usually which makes driving that far, easier. There is one freeway that is in the middle of the state that goes straight down or there is the scenic route(which takes a little longer), that goes along the coast(so you can see the ocean).
I live in Northern California as well. My mom and I would take trips together to see friends and family in Southern California, about 9 hours by highway. But on the way back we went scenic. Since I'd never been to a lighthouse we hit every one of them on the way back, and proceeded up the Oregon coast the next trip. She passed a few months ago. I'm really going to miss our adventures.

Liana's right about the four hour drive. Once drove 21 hours in 2 days just following the Mississippi River. Alone. Listened to the whole Hobbit audiobook on that trip. And I don't even remember how many music albums to keep myself awake.

As an American, I can confirm 4 hours is nothing. I drove 16 hours to visit my sister once and she lives in the state right next to mine 😅

As Nicola said, for England it's a very long distance. I've only noticed that thinking when I've moved to New Zealand, it's very common to drive hours to get somewhere. But yeah England it's seen as a hassle to drive anywhere lol.

So so happy😊 you are leaving!!! We had mold in one bathroom and I had horrible asthma and my child who didn’t have asthma, had symptoms too!! Once it was fixed properly new a/c new vents and mold treatment for the whole house was tented! You have to treat mold professionally to really really get all of the mold spores that you can’t even see! It’s the right thing to do for you and your baby’s health!!!

I'm 10 years into living in a cottage with the thick walls downstairs and single brick upstairs and prone to the damp. Sealing the windows will just make your issues worse as the house needs to breath. The only time I find the damp less is when the house is constantly at a good heat and the walls are warm (if you know what I mean 😂) as soon as you let the house get cold the damp starts again. The builder says wooden windows are the only way for cottages as they breath and my landlord ignored that and had double glazing fitted 3 yrs ago and weve had issue after issue since as no air is getting around. I'm planning on moving next year due to the issues as I'm always painting and cleaning the mould spots. It's not black mould so isn't toxic but it's annoying and unsightly. If my child was a toddler I would have left years ago but she's good at ventilating her room and probably knows more about preventing the damp than my landlord does 😂
The way I got so happy after hearing Liana call it a house cost 🥰 everyone except for my parents and sister has told me I’m wrong and that it’s a “dressing gown” so the fact that someone else calls it a house coat made me so happy ❤

4hr drive is a day trip for us Texans. It takes about that long to drive from Houston to Dallas. Also, you can drive for an hour and still be in Houston

For the situation with leaving the windows open look into getting fly screen. Works really well for keeping bugs out and pets in. Might help?

I have to agree on long drives. I live in Sacramento Ca. You can drive from here to LA in 4-5 hours depending on if you stop to eat, or other reasons.. you can at times get stuck intraffic for an hour or more just to get across town. LOL. You guys are great you are so positive.
Yes Connor unfortunately a 4 hour drive in the US is not much honestly, I just did a 32 hour drive between 3 states, 16 hours to get there and then 16 hours back and honestly that wasn’t even as bad as I feel like it could be, the views on the way made it worth it. Love you guys! Glad to see you guys taking a trip for the two of you❤

As somebody who's dealt with black mold in a rental and had friends get VERY sick from it, it's a very great idea to move. Unfortunately black mold is something that's very tough to get rid of without significant work- removing it, new wood, drywall, etc., and then fixing the circulation/leaking/etc so it doesn't happen again. Black mold is very hard to remediate and unless you own the property and need to invest to fix it moving is the best idea.
I'm sorry you guys have to pack and move again though, I know hope much moving sucks.

Glad you re getting out of there. They know the house has issues but don’t want to lose money, so they blame it on you. I went through it and we still recovering from it. Use the mould laws against them, report them to environmental health before they make you pay for it. Also take pictures, document everything, and don’t forget to record the time, dates you noticed things happening, record any health issues that have worsened, raised since living there. Last thing, make sure all your clothes and belongings are free of mould or it will spread in to your nest house . I know it’s a nightmare but your health and safety is the most important thing in this situation.
Don’t forget to inform environmental health department when you move out or the owners and agencies will continue to rent it and someone might suffer serious consequences. I didn’t and I regret it, he rented it again without fixing and the new tenants are sick .
Even to a Canadian, 4 hours is not a big deal. I drive 5 hours one way every 3 weeks. Go back 5 hours a week later. My dogs keep me company😊
When I was between the ages of 2-6/7 I lived next to a wood yard. Every winter I was catching croup from the cold together with the pollution. I remember I was the lead angel in my nativity, I live with my mum and used to see my dad once a week but now not at all. My mum always came on my opening performance of what I was in but this time my dad came, I got to do the first night but was in hospital be next day because I woke up in the night unable to breathe so my mum never got to see me in the nativity.
I’m not trying to scare you, I’m just saying it as a warning, bear in mind I was living there for YEARS!! I’m sure as long as you make sure the next house isn’t near any polluted areas then all should be good ❤❤❤

I recommend just taking 4-6months and travel in the van . It’s a great way to relax . But I’m sure wherever you live it will be what’s best for your small family.

Connor is right about that home not being ready. It needed more work. And the work would have had to have been around you guys and it won’t work well with your lives. And your home should be a place of comfort. And it doesn’t mean it’s a bad home. It just needs to get work done. And for the right person I’m sure it sounds like a lovely location. But for your young family, it’s just not the place.
