It is human to complain and compare all the time. When you are visiting now you are tourist so things look rosier however if god forbid due to unforeseen circumstances you are forced to return back forever to india, the novelty might wear off quickly. The noise, traffic, pollution, corruption, the length of time it takes any government work to get done, the unsolicited advices, the nosy neighbors, domestic help never showing up on time. There isn’t a 911 you can call? There is literally no life without being social and even if you are social all your life there isn’t any guarantee anyone will help you back in your hour of need.
Payal it was a good Q n A,but the only thing you are incorrect about is the healthcare in USA vs India. You have not really faced a situation where it takes months to get an appnmt with specialists ,people’s health suffers, while in India,at good hospitals it is all so fast and world class
@@welcomeneetu definitely in India hospitals are top notch but look at the expenses it's always not possible for an elderly people to pay that much amount and we don't have a wait for months here to take appointments not in all cases .
The reason why there is no apnapan in US is because it is a highly individualistic society where people fiercely safeguard their own interests and life, whereas we Indians are very social, amicable. The flip side to this is that we Indians can be too involved in others lives. I’m glad to know that your mom is mentally strong .Shomik is a gem of a person , touch wood.
Not necessarily dear, not all families in India too have a strong bond with friends and families . Things are changing even here in India too. I have seen many young couples struggling hard without any support . Socialising is high among teens and twenties , but for older adults and families , job and children becomes priority and social life comes down. Thats just my opinion - it may differ from person to person and place to place, I guess .

What a beautiful Q&A Payal Di, i love your Jodi with Shomik Ji, i hope you stay blessed forever. And i understand the sentiment with mom, last 14 years i was the same, it was truly a role reversal where she became dependent on me, i have seen over the years your dedication to your familt and parents and inlaws. Such a beautiful thing and honest truth, you changed my mentality towards being a mother as soon as I started watching your vlogs 7+ years ago. You showed me what a privilege it is to be a mother and homemaker, we dont need fancy titles at an office to be content. Thank you for bringing that change into my life ❤may god keep you in His care always and may the family stay blessed and healthy ❤❤❤❤

Nice Q and A dear friend..❤❤❤❤ Luckily I feel apnapan in USA … according to my experience… in my neighborhood we are the only Indian family… but everyone is extremely friendly and welcoming… we do share food and drinks all the time… I do have few Indian friends another part of my city… they are all working.. but do make time once in a month get to together ( puja , birthday party) 😇🙏
I have never heard that only H4 people do potlucks that is so ridiculous 😂.. we are in usa for last 14 years never seen any Indian family buying a home in an isolated area. The place where we live has 5 bengali communities which is run by everybody irrespective of their immigration status..
Really isolated area hahaha we stay 45 min away from Manhattan and if you are living in UsA for so many years you should know that not all places in USA Indians live in a huge community. We live here because of my husband job and the school district. Strange
@@SimpleLivingWiseThinkingif you live 45 minutes away from Manhattan then why you don't have any friends?then do you want to say no Indians live in Manhattan or in Queens area??😁😁😁😁??and also i need to say try to visit New York kali Mandir which is situated in Baldwin..we were there for 6 years but still we are in touch with all of them. You can go there and check whether only visa holders do the potlucks ..its all about your own nature which so weird 😅😅
Payal you are genuine 😊 I myself lived in different countries now in Europe, but I agree Indians are very social and if the country they live in, they find Indian community close to share their sorrows and joys it’s cherry on cake, but if not then obviously you feel lonely and isolated especially on special occasions and festivals, Indian parents sacrifice for their children thinking it’s good for their education and career But believe me if they start getting the same package in India they will definitely look for going back😀as the pampering, house help is in abundance in India, also if you have money you can choose the best doctor and everything is available but in US you have to wait unless emergency, my perspective 🙏🏻 also India is changing and many expats in different countries and US are sending their children to Indian boarding schools for good education, discipline and strong educational foundation. India is the best😊

Awesome vlog, Payal--heart to heart chat with all of us 🤗! Hope your hand is better , dear. Actually I am glad t know Aunty is likely to move in with you guys here, as many times Indian parents don't wish to move out of their homes they are habituated , let alone country. I really do love you and Shoumik Da as a couple🤗💕.. you always care for everyone and he as you rightly said, is very supporting. As long as you guys are comfortable with social life, its enough. In fact I have lived across several states , and in Indian neighbourhoods also- but they were not so friendly, to be frank😒😒. I was on H4 too. I finally joined courses and self study- and weekends use to hang out with wives of my husband's colleagues, and mostly American families. Only few girls from India I had great bond with, and we lived close by.

Naive. It is grindingly difficult to pay back a loan of a 700000 in 10 years given they have ongoing expenses of education and also utility UNLESS you work as a programmer for NETFLIX . It is hard on the earning member of the family.
