Listening to this is 2022 brings me back to watching the gold medal game on the computer at 14 because I lived in Georgia and no one cared about hockey now I'm 26 and never miss a single game the caps play. But I loved that winter Olympics
Can't believe this is the first time in 13 years I've seen this. Excellent video, Vancouver 2010 was legendary and this Gold Medal Final was icing on the cake.
Just seeing the benches filled with red and white sweaters just fills me with pride. I remember having the radio playing the game while I was work and watching the screen I could barely see in the shop across from mine in the mall
@PKA19 We had the cup come to my town, when the Pens won it last year! Our biggest hockey arena was filled with about 4,000 people. Just to see the CUP!! People drove from hours away to see it!! Tyler Kennedy (game star in game #5!) It is pretty cool!
here you go niko10kovac- the worlds eyes are here, we're drinking beer and showing off our game we won the gold in Salt Lake though, in Turin we felt shame Stevie Y looked far and wide to build a winning team He picked the best above the rest to chase the nations dream. It started well we gave them hell, Norway couldn't score Bobby Lou- he came through and Iggy mopped the floor Switzerland gave us a run cause Hiller played so sharp but Crosby scored the shootout goal and broke the Swiss' hearts chorus The stars came in from the U.S then and really rocked the boat they scored first, we felt cursed like they had us by the throat stealing hearts aint just for cards and Canada was due but Miller was hot with 45 shots he only let three through The boys were cross after the loss and really came to play when Germany would break free we'd take the puck away Shea Webbers shot went through the net and made the Germans pout we put 6 more in to get the win and beat the saeurkrauts Chorus Ovechkin said all dressed in red "it is my lifelong dream to come to you and make you lose at home at your own game" the crowd was loud and stood so proud as the final seconds passed Ovechkin and his Russian friends can kindly kiss our ass Friday night we're getting tight and crowding the TV Morrow 1, Marleau 2, and Getzlaf made it 3 Oh you can bet we held our breath those Slovaks played so bold but Luongo stopped the final shot we're heading for the Gold! 3rd period, Canada's up 2-1, playing for the big golden puck With Miller out the crowd a shout the US trailed behind 30 seconds left they put their best players on the ice Don't look away Zach Parise slid the puck across the line a crying shame they tied the game to go to overtime Oh take me where the hockey players face off down the rink grab your booze, win or lose you can bet we're gonna drink Iginla fell but passed it well and Sid the Kid took aim the puck is in, Canada wins the good old hockey game! Chorus X3 We kicked your ass again, at the good old hockey game!
@fatpat1823 Ya but didn't Byfuglien put up some very timely goals, for Chicago? Not to much much potential? Although I do think he won't have the same year in Atlanta. Also how many minutes did burish play? Please tell me cause I barely even notice him, Juts like all enforcers when playoffs come they are hardly ever used, most teams don't even use a 4th line some games, and if they do its for 2 mins during the entire game.
@fatpat1823 Which brings up why not trade Sharp? They could of traded him for Cap space, and he is alot older then Byfuglien, and I know Adam Burish played games in the regular games, but did he even play in the playoffs? Cause I think most teams usually sit out there enforcer's during that time, cause they get costly penalties and get taken advantage of by more skilled players. And isn't there a rule, you need to play a certain amount of playoff games to take a cup home? or is that a medal?.
Awsome song. Canada is the best in Hockey and for the years to come. It's great to relive the moment of the Golden Goal from Crosby for all Canadians, but I can't say the same for the Americans.
im canadian and all i gotta say to all them lossers out there We are the champions - my friends And we'll keep on fighting Till the end We are the champions We are the champions No time for losers 'Cause we are the champions of the World
@marc98951 first off all i am canadian too but he is quoting the broadcaster also we have only won 2 in 58 years (although 2 in 4 nhl player tournements) but many salt lake players were not on this team and also this was at home
@ThatOilersKid - Rules apply equally. If Canada can't send NHL players, nor America, then neither can Russia or anyone else. Hence, there would be absolutely no competition for Canada, from where there are plenty of non-professional players (World Juniors anyone?).
@ThatOilersKid - I was around and watching Lillehammer - actually, might have seen 1992's as well. I recall that pros started getting invited during the 1994 Games, and have been since then. But I'm confused; is it only the Canadian committee saying they won't send our pros? If so, talk about having an unlevel playing field, even if it only a couple of pros on the Finland or Russian teams against a no-pro Canadian team. Makes no sense.
@obiwanobiwan13 Thanks! Awesome game! OV IS a great player, we all know that, but a good Canadian boy, would take his lumps (remember 2006?) , and make no excuses. He had conditions on interviews, that the press NOT discuss the Olympics. (How could you not?)
@fatpat1823 Oh, and other than Patrick Kane, who is gonna be raising that Cup in the USA? From what I know Majority of the Hawks players are all Canadian and European and that stanley cup is raised in European city's or Canadian City's because all your players go back home with the cup and raise it in there hometown. So it shows even AMERICAN players can not win a cup, American city's rely on Canadian players and European players thrown in the mix. To have them win anything.
The USA will definitely be able to compete. Not just from here on out, but from the mid 90's onward. 8 Different teams could have won this tournament if they got the bounces and some players on hot streaks. As Canadians we have to accept that we aren't always going to win the gold medals. Regardless of who wins a tournament though, noone will ever change the fact that hockey is our game. Go Canada.
@Fanternal21 As much pride that I have in Canada for taking the Gold for Canada, Miller deserved to hold a Gold medal just as much. HE is one hell of a goalie! But Crosby just has this way with luck!
4 Things all Americans and Canadians can agree on: 1. The 2010 USA/CAN showdowns were some of the best in the recent years 2. Hockey IS for everyone and Americans--such as myself--DO love hockey, but 3. IT IS CANADA'S GAME FIRST...let's be fair about that, so 4. YOUR 2011 COYOTES=YOUR 2012 QUEBEC NORDIQUES...MAKE IT 8!!! Bonus #5: 5. If you're not a fan of the Habs or Red Wings...you HATE those guys! GAH! So many childhood dreams dashed...FLY DUCKS FLY and congrats Winnipeg--GO JETS GO! :D
SO CLOSE! A friend who has family in Canada was pulling for them, me for Team USA...when Parise slid in that goal with 22 seconds left I EXPLODED... But damn SID! Oh well, it IS Canada's game first, so congrats, Canada--best series in a LONG time, can't wait for 2012, it'll be another epic! (And the one thing the US and Canada can DEFINITELY agree on and drink a beer to together...OVECHKIN GOING HOME TO RUSSIA WITH NOTHING AND CRYING LIKE A BABY!) Go USA, good game Canada, HAHA OVIE!
AAAAHHHHH!!!!!!! WE WERE THIS CLOSE!!! WE EVEN BEAT YOU THE FIRST TIME! HOW, TEAM USA, HOW?!?!?!?!?!!!!! A friend of mine (also a HUGE hockey fanatic, though while we both reside in California, her family has Canadian roots, so she was pulling for them, plus she's a huge Penguins fan and a Crosby freak, and I've been a die-hard Ducks fan since Selanne came about, so yes...we're passionate lol) watched that last game, messaging me... AH! Congrats Canada--but NEXT TIME... ;) USA!
@uNreal1kurt Getzlaf IS a beauty of a player-- Which is why I LOVE that he's on my beloved Anaheim Ducks! ;) He adn Perry, BOTH on the Canadian side...oh well, they're Ducks, I can forgive 'em (and losing to Canada's nothing to be ashamed of, second-best thing to the USA winning, the important thing is...OVECHKIN WENT HOME WITH NOTHING BUT HIS TEARS!!!) ;) Hockey all the way, and to the 7 who disliked--you just don't get THE GOOD OL' HOCKEY GAME! LET'S GO DUCKS, CANADA AND THE USA!
Great gold medal game, and Im an American. That was great to see Ryan Miller Get the MVP because without him we probably wouldnt have gotten as far. I cant wait until 2014 in sochi. Im gonna stay up all night watching the games cuz its gonna be in russia.
The gold medal game showcased perhaps the two finest teams ever assembled in the history of hockey. Both were outstanding. But yeah, Canada wins. So all's right with the world.
@Cherdenkov Germans and Italian are the majority of the legal immigrants. Lots of Illegal immigrants from the Middle east areas. In Canada its a insult to be called an american. Its been like that here for a while.
@CycloneGU Canada wont be able to send NHL players cuz the NHL won't allow NHL players to go.Its the olympic comittee never said anything about not allowing pro players go.And FYI olympic hockey was always like that until 1994,which was even harder for Canada because russian superstars never went to the NHL those days which is why canada is the best cause we actually won a few.thats why stuf like the canada cup and world championships was invented so canada and usa could show their true skill
@obiwanobiwan13 now i'd like to thank you for the first well composed and good sportsmanship comment that ive really seen on you tube, wanna go for a beer later?
@ThatOilersKid - Actually, Canada would still win. The problem is there wouldn't be any competition. But this adds to why this will be the sweetest win ever. Period. The best were against the best, and Canada still won.
@obiwanobiwan13 Your Americna squad was WAY under-rated, even here in Canada. We were worried about you guys a little bit, but Russia was a huge concern. Pretty cool outcome, if you ask me....
@skatemafia17 okay, first of all, if you're going to troll, at least have better grammar. and don't go crying about whether the game was fair or not, because the coach of your team got the best AMERICAN player in AMERICA, so technically, it' not anybodies fault that American hockey players are worse than us. because they are
@obiwanobiwan13 That ws a really too close(if you ask me), game! But who could have asked for anything more? I respect Ovechkin, as a talented player, but, why no interviews after the Olympics, that would make a reference to the Olympics??? Canadian Hockey players always face the music. Do the painful interviews with "Hockey Night in Canada", and move along..... Not the moment after a painful loss, but within reason...be a man... deal with it..They've all had to do it.
@jfkhockey You only got 2 out of 3. We have hockey, maple syrup and the best people alive anywhere on the earth. That last one is probably not important to you but it is to us. Your friendly neighbourhood Canadian.
Fortunately, there are rumors of intelligent Canadians north of the border line. Perhaps Toronto Star columnist was one such level-headed fellow when he wrote in his column on Feb. 28th: "To attach meaning to such events is always the challenge and often a fools pursuit. This wasnt redemption for Canada, or the end of a drought, or victory over a hated foe." .......................... "There were no great lessons learned. Just greatness in one athlete confirmed. Of course."

Can't believe this is the first time in 13 years I've seen this. Excellent video, Vancouver 2010 was legendary and this Gold Medal Final was icing on the cake.
Still I jump for joy whenever I see that final goal on TV
This is great, and I'm a USA Hockey Fan. That was an epic winter olympics. Canada was a great host.
Just seeing the benches filled with red and white sweaters just fills me with pride. I remember having the radio playing the game while I was work and watching the screen I could barely see in the shop across from mine in the mall
Miss the 2010 era
@PKA19 We had the cup come to my town, when the Pens won it last year! Our biggest hockey arena was filled with about 4,000 people. Just to see the CUP!! People drove from hours away to see it!! Tyler Kennedy (game star in game #5!) It is pretty cool!
This is my new favorite song
That was awesome, just stumbled upon this by accident. I don't often "like" videos; I'm "liking" this one. =)
great song, great video, great tournment, great outcome, great country!!!!!!
thanks for the post!!
here you go niko10kovac-
the worlds eyes are here, we're drinking beer and showing off our game
we won the gold in Salt Lake though, in Turin we felt shame
Stevie Y looked far and wide to build a winning team
He picked the best above the rest to chase the nations dream.
It started well we gave them hell, Norway couldn't score
Bobby Lou- he came through and Iggy mopped the floor
Switzerland gave us a run cause Hiller played so sharp
but Crosby scored the shootout goal and broke the Swiss' hearts
chorus
The stars came in from the U.S then and really rocked the boat
they scored first, we felt cursed like they had us by the throat
stealing hearts aint just for cards and Canada was due
but Miller was hot with 45 shots he only let three through
The boys were cross after the loss and really came to play
when Germany would break free we'd take the puck away
Shea Webbers shot went through the net and made the Germans pout
we put 6 more in to get the win and beat the saeurkrauts
Chorus
Ovechkin said all dressed in red "it is my lifelong dream
to come to you and make you lose at home at your own game"
the crowd was loud and stood so proud as the final seconds passed
Ovechkin and his Russian friends can kindly kiss our ass
Friday night we're getting tight and crowding the TV
Morrow 1, Marleau 2, and Getzlaf made it 3
Oh you can bet we held our breath those Slovaks played so bold
but Luongo stopped the final shot we're heading for the Gold!
3rd period, Canada's up 2-1, playing for the big golden puck
With Miller out the crowd a shout the US trailed behind
30 seconds left they put their best players on the ice
Don't look away Zach Parise slid the puck across the line
a crying shame they tied the game to go to overtime
Oh take me where the hockey players face off down the rink
grab your booze, win or lose you can bet we're gonna drink
Iginla fell but passed it well and Sid the Kid took aim
the puck is in, Canada wins the good old hockey game!
Chorus X3
We kicked your ass again, at the good old hockey game!
this makes me proud all over again :)
THAT is a cool song!! It rhymed, pretty creative!! Congrats!!!
@fatpat1823 Ya but didn't Byfuglien put up some very timely goals, for Chicago? Not to much much potential? Although I do think he won't have the same year in Atlanta. @fatpat1823 Which brings up why not trade Sharp? @yungfred9 Thankyou for accepting the lost, it truly means ur a GOOD sport! =) Thanks you!
Just goes to show that Hockey is OUR game!!
It was truly a great finish to a great tournament (especially since Canada won :) ).
thanks Canada for give this game to world.. Props from Czech Republic
Awsome song. Canada is the best in Hockey and for the years to come. It's great to relive the moment of the Golden Goal from Crosby for all Canadians, but I can't say the same for the Americans.
this song is epic - thanks for uploading it.
im canadian and all i gotta say to all them lossers out there

*rofl* nicely done, that was sweet game.I was glad I stayed up all night Especially since we won bronze.
Ooh yeah nice version of classic.I like alot.
@marc98951
first off all i am canadian too but he is quoting the broadcaster
also we have only won 2 in 58 years (although 2 in 4 nhl player tournements) but many salt lake players were not on this team and also this was at home
@TykE1x You're welcome. We've butted heads on the ice a few times, of course, but we're glad you enjoy our little game.
@ThatOilersKid - Rules apply equally. If Canada can't send NHL players, nor America, then neither can Russia or anyone else. Hence, there would be absolutely no competition for Canada, from where there are plenty of non-professional players (World Juniors anyone?).
Have this in my MP3 library.

Congrats Canada from a Hockey-Loving American. When Baseball seaon stops, I shift to the ICE, I don't give a darn about Football.
@eaglesfan2828 Canada herp derp. Do you live under a rock?
@obiwanobiwan13 Thanks! Awesome game! OV IS a great player, we all know that, but a good Canadian boy, would take his lumps (remember 2006?) , and make no excuses. He had conditions on interviews, that the press NOT discuss the Olympics. (How could you not?)
great
Love it
I am an American and I would love to see America always win but Canada is just so damn good at hockey. Respect from USA.
@fatpat1823 Oh, and other than Patrick Kane, who is gonna be raising that Cup in the USA? its weird how in every international hockey event recently canada and usa met in the finals in the juniors, olympic womens, and olympic mens
I swear it's like the only hockey song I listen to now
The USA will definitely be able to compete. Not just from here on out, but from the mid 90's onward. 8 Different teams could have won this tournament if they got the bounces and some players on hot streaks. @Fanternal21 As much pride that I have in Canada for taking the Gold for Canada, Miller deserved to hold a Gold medal just as much. HE is one hell of a goalie! But Crosby just has this way with luck!
@obiwanobiwan13 You're assuming it comes down to Canada/USA... THAT is an unlikely proposition, my friend... But it would be cool!
Great lyrics, gotta say. Greetings from Finland : D
@CrossCheckCharlton You said 'eh', which technically means you're Canadian (or your just really want to be).
ovi is one the best

@bumbarowski I love OV but that is the funniest thing I have heard in awhile
How many Canadian players have won cups in the past 5 years? How many Americans?
