- This Roundtable, organized by the Society in collaboration with David Crane, brought together experts from government, academia, and civil society to reflect on the Caesar Report on its tenth anniversary, as a reminder that time and distraction are the ultimate weapons of authoritarian leaders such as Al-Asaad and Putin. The discussion centered on how Syria was left behind by the international community, the work still to be done in Syria, and how we ensure that, two and a half years after Russia’s invasion, the war in Ukraine does not suffer the same fate.
