    These types of demons do not deserve to sit and jail and be fed with our tax dollars. This is one of the sickest things I’ve ever heard in my life. I pray for peace for the victims families because those details were beyond disgusting.

    I hate to be the bearer of even more dark happenings with this case. I have a relative that is a detective for Knoxville, as well as his brother that actually worked this case, and what was shared with the public, and at trial is only a fraction of what was done to these young adults. At trial , what was shared was enough to convict and what was not shared, was to protect the family from any more horrific details than necessary.
    The female perpetrator had several opportunities to set her free, and she did not.
    All of these perps are Satan’s spawn.
    This case will forever haunt me.

      This! Same I also know people in kpd and let me tell you the people that did this were sick. The poor parents had to sit there and listen to this demonic crap, it's heartbreaking. Nobody wanted to touch this case when it happened. Even Sean Hannity publicly apologized for not covering this story. The woman Vanessa had a diary and wrote about how much fun she had while on her vacation in TN. It's what got her convicted.

    Shannon’s parents are exactly right with the statement they made after the sentencing of the ones that received life without parole. The people of Knoxville are the only ones who got justice with that sentence. Shannon and Chris’s families didn’t get justice. They got a slap in the face if you ask me. Jury’s need to stop thinking about themselves and their morals when making a decision on a sentencing that puts death on the table. Because the sentencing isn’t about them. I’ve heard so many jurors say after a sentencing where they didn’t choose the death penalty, “I just couldn’t put myself in that position. I’m no better then they are if I chose to kill someone”. I’ve heard it so many times. It drives me absolutely nuts to hear them say this. When jury selections are made, if they had that mindset knowing they were potentially being selected for a death penalty trial, they should voice that immediately so the prosecution can easily determine that they are not fit to be on a death penalty trial. The decision to choose death should not come down to how the juror feels about the death penalty. This isn’t the place for them to stand their ground on their beliefs. They should make the decision that best fits the crime. And the crimes these disgusting POS committed are 100% deserving of death.

      Don’t forget they are asked the question about the death penalty before they sit their butts in that box and they tell the court… yes, I can hand it down. Later, they pull this moral high ground mess!

    I met channon A few months before this happened on her21st birthday. Her brother invited the guy I was dating and myself down to go have Japanese food and get chauffeured around in a trolley and celebrate her birthday in downtown. And that we did lol She was so beautiful and kind I only spent that one night with her but It was obvious who she was. She barely knew me but gave me her bed that night because we all stayed over at her place so no one would be drinking and driving. Her parents woke us up with breakfast and were just so welcoming. I remember sitting on the edge of her bed the next morning as I was getting dressed and looked around at the pictures , trophies, and ribbons that she had all over and Just thought to myself what a beautiful life she has. Everything was in place perfectly and it seemed like she was just living the dream. She wanted to work with children and could have made such a positive impact It's just not fair. Her life was just getting started and these dirtbags took it away for what? This was something that changed me forever as well as everyone else in Knoxville. There was just no feeling of justice As far as I was concerned because what they did was so terrible no punishment would be harsh enough in my opinion. I watch these true crime shows all the time but when It's someone you know It takes the wind out of you.

It’s more than tragic, it’s absolutely gut wrenching! I can only imagine that knowing the details of what happened to their children/loved ones has been another form of torture & heartache for the parents & family of Channon & Chris. Your video started playing as I was doing my nightly routine in the bathroom, as soon as I heard who the victims were I ran back into my room and sat down glued to the tv. Everyone has that one case that sticks with them, this is without a doubt that one for myself. I have to commend you for discussing and bringing more awareness to this case, due to its extremely gruesome nature I believe other creators have chose not to talk about it, that along with the lack of coverage of the case at all in the past decade. I've always loved and respected you Annie, (been here since the beginning!!) but talking about this case I respect you so much more so as an investigator, on RUclips there is only a handful of people discussing this tragedy along with some videos showing the hearings. Omg I have been WAITING so long for you to cover this case. Not only am I from Knoxville but I also unfortunately ended up in the same prison as the Vanessa who went to prison for these murders. It was the most awful crime I can think of in my town. And there are a few "famous" murders from here. Can't wait to hear your take
    Edit...you covered all the parts I was hoping you would. The way they "tried" to cover up their DNA on her. Latalvis' testimony was absolutely disgusting....I watched the court coverage in full and I've never been so disgusted in a human.

    This is the darkest story I’ve ever heard. My son’s brother from another mother was shot on a sidewalk in Knoxville. Head, heart and gut by someone he didn’t know because he was helping a drunk woman home (he didn’t know her either) and her ex stepped out of the bushes and shot him point blank. The killer got a very lenient sentence and quick parole. It seems in Knoxville it’s who you know. I worked in a state prison. The offenders set around playing cards with their crew. They laugh and smile and seemed to not have any problem with being incarcerated other than being separated from their loved ones. They see their loved ones during visitation and now they have video visits and talk on the phone. They go to recreation and watch movies on their own tv. It is not enough to just be separated from your loved ones to pay for these types of crimes.

    • @NikkiC777
      @NikkiC777 8 месяцев назад +24

      I totally agree with you on that. Incarceration where they get to just sit around and make friends and play cards and watch TV is not giving justice to the victims and their families. Some crimes are just too horrific for the perpetrator to get nothing but just plain old prison time even if it is a life sentence. That's just not justice. Not when they took 2 lives in such a horrific and brutal manner. Also I think people put too much faith in the other inmates to deliver "prison justice". More often than not everyone just eventually forgets about whatever horrible things they've done, and they just integrate into the prison society.
