      Yes! I thought the same thing about my female cat. She has always had a phobia about being picked up. You have to let her come to YOU, but still won't let anyone pick her up. But she climbs up on the ottoman in front of me when I'm watching TV, and when I started brushing her with that mist, she was loving it. She normally wouldn't like it if she gets wet, but she liked being brushed with that mist so much, it occurred to me that maybe it brought back memories of her being licked by her mother 16 years ago :) Yes, she's 16, and not slowing down a bit. My male cat will be 23 next month! He's showing it, but not doing too badly :)

    As a professional cat groomer the “steam” is really gimmicky. Just get a decent rubber brush like the zoom groom or I prefer the equigroom over a furminator for shedding season I find it breaks less of the hair. If your cat hates baths you can do a waterless shampoo and a warm cloth.

    • @JoeyRam.

      Now I ask you: What you recommend for a Tonkinese?...since they don't have the inner coat, barely any brush can take hair.

    • @SillyRamen
      @SillyRamen 5 месяцев назад +4

      I think the mist is nice. When you brush a cat the fur flies all over the place. But when slightly dampened then it helps prevent that.

    There is NO SUCH THING as cool steam. It is ultrasonic water vapor. It’s a gimmick. Just but a zoom groom

    •  8 месяцев назад +5

      So? What's the difference in this case? The idea is just to moisten the fur, I'd think it is even better that it's cool.

    • @pthalodezin
      @pthalodezin 8 месяцев назад +6

      @ there is no such thing as cool steam. You are wetting the fur which is also ill advised unless you plan to dry your cat. As far as real steam, you should NEVER steam clean a cat. That is dangerous and will cause injury to your pet

    • @nurseldelikaya3051
      @nurseldelikaya3051 8 месяцев назад +4

      Yes, it's not steam. Ultrasonic humidifiers/nebulizers use ultrasonic vibrations to create a fine mist by breaking water particles into droplets. These droplets are then dispersed into the air.

      I have seen people put essential oils to help with that. I personally have not tried it but heard it works. The cool mist differently helps as my cat Mylo goes outside a lot. Not sure how "clean" it gets him but it helps with grooming!

    • @MarcusBuer
      @MarcusBuer 10 месяцев назад +17

      @@JoshandLaurenReviewsPlease do not use essential oils, lots of essential oils are toxic to cats, and even if you try to search one that isn't there is the risk of cross contamination with one that is toxic.
      Cats don't need cleaning unless they are unable to clean themselves, like if they have low mobility due to old age, or if they get something on their fur that they shouldn't lick (like engine oil). If that's the case a regular shower with lukewarm water is better, water + soap, then rinse.
