What caused that engine to failed?? I'm actually surprised cause these m47 engines are rock hard, you hardly open those engines....some reach over 850 000km with no issues
My mom had it for about 11 years and I do not think that they did propper maintenance in it. In the time that they had it the engin mountings broke. The harmonic stabelizer broke causing the belt to smach alot of things. There was a water leak so the car overheated twice. And I susspect some one tampered with the injectors before. So there are multiple factors.
@@CriPtZoNe wow thank you for the knowledge, I never knew that sometimes it can be so hard to get those injectors off..... I'm currently running the same m47 engine on an e90 320d and even though I'm on 330 000km it still runs like a dream. HOWEVER the vibration damper/pulley probably needs replacing also, it's one of those common repairs on these engines but otherwise these things can run forever with no issues, just need to change oil every 10 000km then you have a very reliable BMW
The engineer susspects that when the stud brike off on top of the injector the carbon buid up was more than usual due to the injector vibrating or being loose. That is what made it so stuck.
