Any AD who is happy being worth half the value of Vandy, Northwestern, or Purdue should be unemployed immediately
He is a pretty Pathetic AD as Is the infamous Boo Corrigan, who names their kid Boo? These idiots need to be in the old Big East with their mentality.
I think this ad is down playing his role with FSU and Clemson lawsuits
Any AD unaware enough to know his comments on a legal case(s) will make headlines and possibly even be used in court (potentially directly impacting his employer in a negative way) should really limit those statements to ones approved by the school's legal counsel. It sounds like he thinks tbe ACC is not a sinking ship and the finances dont affect the school, and those in charge of the finances are calling him an idiot. @mikekatura6657
It's not that teams like UNC and FSU are worth half the value of those smaller programs, it's that they are not being paid their value on par with peer schools in the P2 conferences.
@@bleachorange until unc files lawsuit ad is downplaying there role with those teams that r being sued all im saying. Now the board of trustees r treading dangerously in terms of that
Old school Carolina boys like Bubba are why the ACC has taken this dead end road to tier b football and weaker finances option. Old school Carolina first folks still believe in Basketball first. The ACC under Gene Corrigan took a football centric tack but that changed back under Swofford to an all things North Carolina centric world. All tournaments returned to North Carolina, football officiating got worse, the ESPN tv contract to save a North Carolina based broadcast partner. It’s time to leave this Carolina conference for one with national exposure in mind. You can stay with the sinking ship Bubba, FSU and Clemson are outta the ACC!
Because Carolina still thinks they run the conference. They are #4 at best and that's only because they bring in so much with their basketball program. Football brings the money and FSU and Clemson and probably Miami bring more revenue on the football side than Carolina and Duke do with their basketball programs. ACC is going to be left behind to die because of that attitude. I like Carolina and Duke on the basketball side, but it's going to be left without funding if they don't right the ship.
@@user-ql3fd2zd3uagree, except i think it's too late for the ACC. the new P2 CFP contract solidifies the other conferences' second class citizenship. there will be no coming back from this, not for a very long time, if ever
@followthemoneyhoney And it only gets worse if 2 of those 3 leave. Possibly all 3. The fans and administrators at these schools are so short sighted they will give up all that money for control.
lol at the idea that Miami is valuable. The fact that they’re way down the pecking order for P2 bids is all you need to know
@@heelsin08Miami will be a part of the first four off the board out of the acc. take it to the bank. you sound salty.
He should be fired immediately!
Same scenario when Arizona States AD backed Pac 12 till it crashed. He's no longer there.
So, there is dissension within the ranks in Chapel Hill. Reading between the lines, it's clear that a majority of the board are unhappy with the ACC. When SMU, Cal and Stanford were invited to join the conference, the UNC board released a written statement that clearly stated their unhappiness with the decision. So, it is probably all too obvious that the powers at Carolina are divided over what they should do. But I'd bet at the end of they day they'll realize that they simply cannot afford to be behind the other power conferences revenue. It's just not acceptable. Nor should it be. There will be a mass exodus from the ACC if FSU and Clemson are successful in their lawsuits. And if schools like UNC want a place at the big boy table they won't be able to wait too long to make a move. So, I'd bet all this will play out much faster than a lot of people expect.
Right On!
Bubba may be a short timer AD, before he makes a move to ACC staff.
Yep obvious ACC got to him since their corporation is in that state. The writing is on the wall. Not that surprised he said this.
Maybe NOW folks will understand why the Board of Governors voted to control conference movement of teams. It might not have been just to connect NCSU and UNC.
For those who are only concerned about basketball, you hit it right on the nail! That financial gap in revenue distribution will eventually seep into the basketball program that WE (every Carolina fan) loves!
Whether we like it or not (and I personally do) football is KING. And if we want our basketball program to continue to be great it CERTAINLY means Carolina has to get out of the ACC. It’s dying. Don’t go down with the ship! Go HEELS!
do you prefer the big ten or the sec? Regionally perhaps a better fit in SEC, academics and research wise, big ten. I think currently, SEC and BIG basketball are comparable basketball conferences, with SEC maybe a slight better top to bottom in football
@@jackthompson2603 I would much rather go to the SEC. As a fan, I'm not as worried about the research and academic side. I want UNC to be in a conference where it can grow the football culture. Those regional rivalries would be epic and it would great for the Carolina. Additionally there's very little reason Carolina wouldn't remain a top team in basketball in the SEC. Playing Kentucky and Tennessee every year would be very little drop-off if any.
I hate to leave the ACC. But it's dying before our very eyes. SEC is where Carolina needs to be.
@@thetarheelhuddlebut if the BigTen offers more money…
I think basketball will be fine through direct donor support. The problem is that UNC has 28 athletic programs. They don't have the revenue to subsidize all of them.
As a graduate of UNC, I would like to think that Bubba is/was just being diplomatic. Perhaps he will change his tune now that he knows where the BOT stands.
On the other hand, universities are FULL of egos and Carolina has it's share. I just like to see a good fight among the so-called "high minded".
The ACCs days are numbered. The only question is "are you going to get on the last train leaving or be left at the station?" I do think the powers that be at UNC, despite any high-minded attitude, are motivated by money and an extra $50M per year is difficult to rule against.
Fire the AD. Come join the SEC. We need Virgina Tech and North Carolina in our conference! Florida State and Clemson Too!
I think BigTen moves fast to take UNC from under the SEC..
I hate to say it but my ACC is dead. I don't know where the Heels are going but let's hurry up and get it over with.
@@killerseddie8295 I would like to see them to the SEC… but I think the end up in the BigTen..
@@dacokc Unfortunately, I do as well. They'll choose them for the academic standards. When I think of Big 10, I think of Michigan and Indiana....That just seems so unreal to me.
@@killerseddie8295 yup… I think of Michigan and Ohio State and Penn State. That said you now have the likes of USC, UCLA, Washington, Oregon and maybe someday Notre Dame… they’ll chase academic prestige of the Big Ten.. and the academic and athletic money that comes along with it…
It’ll be different but it’ll be a respectable conference… that said.. I’m not even a UNC fan but I’d prefer the regionality and culture of the SEC.
Love the thumbnail
Got Mike, vains popped out yelling @ Mack, to fight, with Dabo cheerleading in the back
Good old Bubba stepped in it
Basketball dominance doesn't help the overall athletic health of the University of North Carolina
The ACC IS SOOOOOOO DONE!!!!
Bubba has to go if UNC wants out of acc period.
What puzzles me is why an fsu channel is so caring and trying to endure itself to unc? Hey fries no slaw, whats your agenda ?
In reality trying to play B10g off. Against SeC in order to make fsu desirable. What if in reality neither the Big10 nor the SeC want to take FSU? Good luck in Big12 FSU.
@@robertgibbs6480 you’re clearly of diminished mental capacity.
Statement like what the AD for North Carolina said about Florida State leaving will not go over well in Tar Heel land
Bubba needs to go!!UNC needs a new AD,and has for awhile
HUBBA Bubba should go. Maybe there will be a job at the acc waiting for him.
If UNC can make more money they should join those conferences. Same with UVA. It may suck overall but noone should hold a grudge because of the position everyone has been put in.
IMO best solution for UNC IMO is for them to go to the B1G with FSU and NCSt to go to the SEC with Clemson, VT and Miami. NCSt might have to settle for less than a full share of media revenue until the next tv deal.
Nah, UNC will join the SEC if and when they leave the ACC.
@@jansonroberts2616 UNC would do great in BB in either P2, but IMO they would do better in FB in the B1G. In the SEC they would be another Arkansas or South Carolina. In the B1G they might be like Iowa or Wisconsin a cut below the top tier teams.
Give us UNC, ND and FSU please!!!!! That’s 21 teams, 3 7 team pods. Oregon, USC, Washington, Iowa headline the west division. Central Division is headlined OSU, Michigan, MSU and Wisconsin. East Division is headlined by FSU, UNC, PSU and ND. Who says no? Non revenue travel is greatly reduced and everyone is happy.
We’ve been getting schtuffed
Time needs to be canned and someone that understands basic math put in his place. ACC is DOA, there are two conferences that matter and if you’re not in one of them your nothing!
The school that has easily been the most influential in how the ACC has been run for decades now wants off their own sinking ship 🙄
That’s exactly what happened in the Big12 with UT (Austin)
ESPN was pulling the strings and stoking the fire of the demise of both conferences. ESPN knows what they are doing, giving UT their own national network, giving ACC games to Raycom for free, or adding teams from out West that only ND wanted.
Not going to hate. Ape’s together strong 🦧
While the UNC Board may not care what other schools think, but FSU and Clemson are probably not be very happy with Bubba either. Not that any court is going to care what an AD thinks from a school that is not in the litigation, but it is still not a good look for FSU or Clemson.
North Carolina football ACTUALLY has a good football following. The fans are in large part frustrated with what Carolina has done compared to the talent we’ve brought in.
We want football to be great in North Carolina. Especially UNC!
I for one am really pulling for Carolina to go to the SEC! I think it’s the final straw needed to awaken the sleeping giant! Go Heels!
I think Bubba just started just tenure at UNC to be over very soon. UNC will be looking for a new AD.
It's not a hurricane. Miami isn't involved. It's interesting this is happening at North Carolina, though. If there was any school that the Big Ten was working behind the scenes, it would be UNC.They are the biggest name on the board that the Big Ten wants not named Notre Dame. (and possibly A&M if they are or end up on quietly on the market.
🤔
It’s all about the almighty dollar. That’s the world and country we live in unfortunately. I’m just blessed I came up in the 70s when there at least seemed to be loyalty and tradition. All that is going with the wind. Ah the good Ol days.
the ACC has a long "tradition" of treating certain of its own schools as second class citizens. if the allegations of double dealing alleged in fsu's lawsuit prove true, it explains why the ACC has long seemed to be for only some of it's own members. time will tell, but i have a feeling that the people who abandoned loyalty and tradition were running the show and shame on them
So here is my take on this. If any team in the ACC is not looking for an out right now they are foolish. Ever since ESPN signed the deal with the SEC, that ACC deal was over. We have all seen the shrink at ESPN in staff, and Disney (their parent company) as a whole to try and cut expenses. If anyone thinks that ESPN will hold on to that ACC contract they are wishing for miracles. When the deal with the SEC was signed that was the end of the ACC contract.
I said this elsewhere. If the ACC wants to survive those in charge need to tear up the current contract and figure out how to make the conference better.
Forcing teams to continue at a inferior income rate is not for the benefit of the teams
See you soon Notre Dame!
Sincerely,
The Big Ten
Nah, they will join SEC for better recruiting. B1G does not have as much talent.
@@BurntOrangeHorn78 🤣🤣🤣
Don’t hold your breath. Notre Dame values education and maintaining its national brand by playing cross country. The SEC clearly doesn’t value education and they’re limited to the South/Southeast. But you’re welcome to maintain that they’d lower their standards in order to join the SEC.
@briggsofdisaster
Texas swallowed hard and went into the SEC because that's where all the talent is and the best players want to play there. It is a shame that Saban has turned college football into NFL farm teams, but here we are and this is how one competes.
Notre Dame gains no advantage in recruiting by going to the Big Ten. Most of the good athletes from the south and Texas and California do not want to play on the great tundra in one foot of snow.
@@BurntOrangeHorn78 I don’t think you understand how Notre Dame think and what it values. The SEC would be an insult to the alumni and all their donors.
@briggsofdisaster
You are probably too younger remember that Notre Dame abandoned it's no bull stance because of Texas and the opportunity to play it in the 1970 Cotton Bowl and receive postseason funds for that. Follow the money you will see where the teams go.

"In the end, we don't decide these things, the planets do" Conal Cochren Halloween 3 1982! 😁
Just saying being a long time UNC fan and always lived in NC , Cunningham and the former owner of Raycom sports always mentioned in the same breath
Best UNC begin the move to one of the Big 2 and best UNC not require NC State to join unless you want less than a full share of revenue
UNC might get a full share in the SEC, especially if ESPN doesn't have to pay the ACC media rights. The B1G is different, they have an escalation clause in the current media deal, but it's only for Notre Dame, no other schools are named. That means the Conference would see if Fox is willing to give more money, that's doubtful for two reasons
#1 Fox already has plenty of B1G games, do they really want to squeeze in another 1-2 games each Saturday?
#2 Fox made it well known after bumping up the media deal to add Wa/Or to half shares, that they were done till 2030, when the next media deal is.
If Fox says no thanks, then they can try CBS, NBC, though I never hear about them adding anything to get games, maybe since they aren't a dedicated sports channels, they have limited windows, plus NBC also has Notre Dame football. Maybe Apple TV, but that wouldn't be much money, maybe enough for a half share till 2030?
I think the AD just meant staying in the conference with AQ for the cfb is better than moving to conference where you’re gonna get the shit beat out of ya
Lmao didn't you JUST post a video about UNC and NC ST leaving next???😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 this channel is just wild rumors and clickbait
🐬
Didn’t Virginia just win the national championship 2 years ago.
Besides great basketball and mediocre football, UNC and Duke have top tier law schools. Same with Virginia. I’m sure there’s a lot going on we don’t know about. Also, a lot of Carolina fans don’t care for Bubba.
The ACC and BIG12 is coming to an end they were just bullied into a deal the BIG10 and SEC put together teams better do whatever is necessary to jump ship to one of the 2 power conferences
yeah these two things are converging. the CFP deal was designed to make two major conferences... the ACC's own behavior just sped up the rush for the exits
Despite what Clemson and Florida State might believe, UNC is the most coveted school in the ACC. The ACC is down? They were 6 and 3 against the SEC during the regular season in football this year. Plus, the ACC blasted through the 64 teams currently in college basketball better than the other conferences despite allowing fewer ACC teams in than other, weaker, conferences...
UNC should fire Bubba!!!
Bubba is dabbling in Tobacco Road Good Ol' Boy shenanigans.
😂
Fans are emotional and board members are money-hungry and don't want to be left out of something. You both want to burn bridges for it. But North Carolina didn't build its reputation off of football and they know they don't need it now because they still aren't good in football. FSU and Clemson did, though.
Is Bubba C “on the take” for all cash received from Schools leaving?
UNC has had an internal conflict about sec vs b1g going on for awhile now.
Forrest Gump just called Bubba, Stupid!
When Texas and Oklahoma announced they were leaving the Big 12, the other schools grumbled then worked out an early exit, said "Bon voyage", and worked at keeping the conference alive. The Pac12 went off the deep end (those State schools - AZ, WA, OR). You would think the Pac12 debacle would have given the ACC caution.
You would think. They are not.
These big conferences are going to fold. Just wait and see. But I'm going to be done with all college sports after this. If unc leaves. I'm hoping the state stops this.
🤔
For a long time I have been saying FIRE that bum Bubba Cunningham!!!
Athletics in the ACC and every other conference is the financial loss leader. Among the 400+ colleges and universiteis that have sports, less than 3% break even annually. Most charge their students $1000 or more as an athletic fee, even though few students go to athletic events. I have been an academic leader in the Big Ten, ACC and SEC, and they all lose money on sports. Check their budgets.
This channel has the enthusiasm of a rarely used wooden spoon; not really concerned with content, only ready to stir the pot, regardless of the outcome.
We cover what the hottest topic is at the moment. It’s the offseason. Realignment is the hottest topic.
HE GONE
Football is the driving source in conference realignment, not basketball. ESPN could solve the entire “ACC dilemma” by simply increasing the amount of its investment in its ACC agreement to equal that of the SEC. So, why haven’t they? It’s because they’d prefer to pay less money for more and better teams in fewer conferences. If you want to know which side people are on and the potential outcome, then follow the money.
how are Villanova and UConn able to win national championships?
Pre NIL and players profit sharing era. Basketball will quickly swing like football, once they pay
@@CFBAddiction i do not know about villanova but uconn pays a ton of NIL money in both mens and womens bball.
Sounds like UNC is packing their bags. Now we just need to learn their destination. My money is on the SEC at this point. Adding UNC and UVA to the SEC would complete their brand of being the southern flagship university conference.
Been hearing that for a long time
Would be great to have USC's old ACC team members Clemson, UNC and Va in same conference again BUT things will be different this time as Chapel Hill will not rule the roost. FSU will add lot to the SEC.
@@DaninVa-gt9nj I get what you are saying. The good thing about the "New SEC" is that it is full of power schools that will be able to counterbalance each other. With schools like Texas, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Florida, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M in the league, there is not any way that any of them would be able to completely dominate the operation of a conference the way they might have in the past. Add UNC, UVA, and FSU into the mix and that dynamic just gets even stronger. The SEC would be a conference of mostly true peer institutions. They will all be forced to actually work together for the good of the entire conference because none of them could bully the rest of the conference into doing what they want. If Texas or UNC come into the conference and try to boss everyone else around the other schools would just tell them to go kick rocks.
Absolutely Right!@@markraymond7667
@@markraymond7667 Yeah, read that Texas used to bully the B12 but as you posted that will not work in the SEC as they are just another member(altho a rich powerful one). Looking forward to seeing Texas play against real competition which will just improve their athletic dept.
Note: Read about when Texas was "approached" by the SEC back when it added Ark and USC and a sports writer who was being uppity and thought Texas belonged in the B10 wrote that Texas would NEVER join the SEC. OK. Also read that Ok and Ok State were a package deal. OK again.😊
Where is this guy Bubba coming from??? Is he paying attention to what's going on? Is he ok with UNC football continuing to be average at best despite expectations? He must be, because that's what they will continue to be with the financial disparity they are facing. UNC needs to wake up... it's not personal, FSU and Clemson just want to continue to complete on a national level, which will be impossible with the financial disparity around the corner.
Bubba must be auditioning for a job with ESPN!
Money, money, money.
I forget who. They noted that the tobacco road good ole boy network in NC is being dismantled.
I was wondering why UNC was being (d)ucked? Now I know.😂😂😂
FSU, Clemson and UNC are the only schools I would add to SEC. The rest are just not worth it.
CANE Class of '92 here... Any support for the ACC by Bubba smells to high heaven... Other schools opposing the exit of FSU and Clemson at this point is 'gamesmanship.' The glacier never falls into the sea all at once... The FSU exit will be followed by the rest of the Big Brands, Miami included... Just sayin... $$$ is the bottom line~!
Basketball is the only sport that keeps unc relevant . Ol crusty Mack brown isn’t gonna relive his old Texas run .
Give us the money y'all have and let's see.
🤔
The ACC is Bubba’s “donor”. He’s campaigning.
Uva and Virginia tech leaving acc
Somebody needs to Google university Athletic department budgets, income and expenses….
Big East here comes Syracuse
Miami’s AD, is equally as bad as Bubba! They make no sense whatsoever!
Miami is private school! The AD isn't going to anything different! However, the Miami board of Trustee with the president and AD are working behind the scene. Private schools don't have to be transparent like public funded schools like FSU, Clemson and UNC.
I think the AD should be looking for a new job. If he can even get one.
disagree with most of what is said here. Bubba must say nice things about the ACC and it means UNC is not going to go hat in hand to the Big or the SEC. both will
come to UNC because they are the best school to pull from the ACC not Clemson or FSU. the BOT don't even know that??
🤔
No turmoil. Just a good cop/bad cop routine. UNC is united on result, just divided on tactics.
Bubba has to go
Can we talk about something else talk about the same shit everyday it’s basically the same exact contract as the big 12 had and look what happened there should have never made the deal in the first place now lay in your bed you helped make
🫠
Your very wrong about acc basketball
UNC would be the bottom barrel in the SEC. Making more money won’t make your football/ basketball team any better. If that was the case Purdue and Vanderbilt would have championships in their conference. I hope Florida State fall flat and doesn’t win anything.
Yeah, people seem to forget, that each conference has its crown jewel teams. Just because you join the SEC or Big10 and make the big bucks don't make you Alabama or Ohio State
Bad and rich or good and poor? Hmmmm. Not many will choose the later. But those aren't the only choices. UNC goes to the Big 10 and stays great at basketball and gets rich
Good football isn't Purdue or Vandy's role in their conferences. They're there to eat losses, and spend the money to be good at other stuff. Keeps the conference balanced and advancing in all arenas. UNC would serve a similar role with better football some years. If UNC wants to focus on football.....then the B12 is where they're heading cause the B1G/SEC pecking orders are already set with slots open for FSU, ND, Clemson and Miami.
UNC .. Florida State...next to go to the BIG TEN
Not really!
Basketball means nothing unfortunately
Fire him.
ACC is done
Those who don’t get a offer from the SEC OR BIG 10 , are screwed. They are killing another conference. Why turn College 🥎 sports professional
I agree, but it's too late. That train has already left the station!
ACC pays 10 million less than any other conferences ..FSU is losing over 16 million a year in the ACC ..And UNC was in the magnificent 7 trying to BREAK THE ACC
Because it already is.
i love that the acc is about to get picked apart, they are the ones that started all this realignment in college sports just because they wanted a (poorly attended) acc championship football game, in doing so they destroyed the old big east.
Uhmm...SEC was first conference to add teams so it could have a conference playoff game. Had to have 12 members for that. SEC added Ark and USC back in 1992.
@@DaninVa-gt9nj Big Ten added Penn State in 1989.
"Realignment" (Consolidation) has been in the works since TV money showed up in the 60s.....
@@jansonroberts2616 Was kinda wondering about that but my point was that the SEC was first power conference to add teams for a conference playoff game. To get to 12 members which was a NCAA requirement. During that period, NCAA said that only applied to small schools and was told by the SEC commissioner that the rule didn't state that.
THIS IS CRAZY UNC wants out of the ACC why did they say anything good about the ACC ..UNC was one of the teams TRYING TO BREAK ACC 🫣
