The good news is Stellantis is dropping MSRP’s substantially. This will have a ripple effect across the whole industry.
i still Love the 6.4 Hemi , glad they still have it
@alanking6173 share with us, why you love your hemi.😮😮
Longbed trucks have optional 50 gallon tanks.
@@DillonPrecisionFan exactly.
That range must be crazy
@@easycheddyI have one and it shows when the tank is full around 700. Definitely don’t have to fill up very often.
@@Itsa_Mea when I had a Ram 3500 dually in 2022 I also had a 50 gallon aux. tank in the bed, it was AWESOME to have a 100 gallon fuel capacity, I could drive all day double towing and not have to stop for fuel.
@@mr.g8067any idea when these trucks are available for sale?
Hello jd
I have a 2024 ram 3500 dually with the 6.7 Ho it has air ride / auto level with 410 gears & a 50 gallon tank and i absolutely love it for towing are 47 foot keystone fuzion toy hauler @ 20.000

For those crying about the 3.42 rear end, first gear ratio in the ZF8 PowerLine is 4.89 the truck is going to be a rocket. This Ram will absolutely have the best gearing ratio in the transmission than any other truck in its class.

@@jasonlarsen3515- I believe you ARE correct!! 😂😂.
@DarkHorse08 I agree to a point. 99% of regular consumer will not notice the difference. I will say anyone heavy hauling that needs lower gears will most likely step into the chassis cab trucks with some gearing options. Transmission control I am curious about. The ability to lock out gears and how good the tow/haul calibration will be
I believe the final gear ratio in the new ZF 8 as listed above - .64 - is pretty close to the Aisin .63 and the 68 RFE .62. With that in mind I feel that my 2014 68 RFE is pretty good at pulling my 16K 5ver (and loaded up truck) BUT there are times at highway speeds in hilly terrains I wish I had 4:10s (I currently have 3:73 in the rear). In those conditions I lock out sixth and stay under 65 mph in 5th. I know I would lose some non-trailering top end along with some mileage with 4:10s but I have the truck for towing not riding without a load. I realize the new 8 speed will be significantly better in 1st and 2nd gear than my 6-speed 68 RFE starting from dead stop, BUT, it looks to me, at those similar final drive ratios - a 3:42 rear end vs my 3:73 - means I will be turning lower RPMS at 65-70mph and start lugging and or shifting at the slightest hill or headwinds. My hope was to get this great 8 speed with its granny gears paired with 3:73s in the rear, which would be nearly the same exact final drive ratio (RPM to MPH) that I have now. With the same final gear (.64 ZF vs .62 RFE) and a 3:42 rear - I think I will be turning 1600 or less at or around 65 mph which I think is lugging the engine when pulling a heavy sail (like a 5ver) and necessitate downshifting anytime easing into the throttle in 8th gear. Maybe the more torque and extra horsepower will carry the day and allow reasonable acceleration without shifting down, but I doubt it. My 2014 likes 1750 - 1850 rpm as its sweet spot -- with 3:42s my guess in 8th gear I'd be doing 75-80 at those RPMs. East coast traffic would never allow that so I would probably be floating between 6 and 7 every time someone slows or merges in front of me or 5th if down to 50-55. Maybe I am missing something..........
I don’t care about fuel economy with owning a 2500 and 3500. Give me the 4.10 gears so I can tow whatever I want whenever I want.
@@ramcharger1978 you don't need 4.10s. It now will be equipped with an 8Spd ZF transmission that has a "granny low" first gear that is utilized when towing.
Fuel economy is important not everyone is max towing I just need something to tow a skid steer and tools etc RELIABLY that’s what is important to me

Still has hydraulic lifters. FAIL.
Still has archaic cab & crappy seating ergonomics from 2009. FAIL.
Still has the virtually unusable GVWR for the 2500’s. FAIL.
(This narrator is naive. There will be exactly zero 2500’s with 2000+lbs payload. He’s either lying or he doesn’t know squat about trucks.)
Still has the relatively weak frame and steering components. FAIL.
Increased prices. FAIL.
Incorporating trailer brake controls into the big screen? retarded FAIL.
Ram may be working their way towards a full remodel. Maybe. It this ain’t it.
At least the kept the 50 gal tank. Another thing this guy is ignorant of. He is a FAIL.
Rear gear ratios were much more important for a long time when all trucks had for transmission where 3 or 4spd auto transmission, or 5-6spd manual. The auto trans trucks all ran fairly similar gearing, so your rear gear ratio did play an important factor in our over all final drive ratio, not to forget tire size since it's a factor as well.
The modern 8 and 10sp transmission really help reduce the need for a shorter, bigger number, axle ratio that usually always affects efficiency because they have shorter 1st and 2nd ratio to give similar if not better torque multiplication while still be able able to provide taller gearing for better efficiency on the highway. Not to forget better control over rpm range to help keep the vehicle in a better/more effective/effecient use of the tq or HP.
50 gallon tank is an option on crew cab trucks with 8ft beds, it has been an option for several years and is again shown as an option on these new 2025 models.
I want say that 50 gal tank option became available around 2020 or 2021, it’s a fairly recent option.
@jdfleetguy28 exactly. Alot of missed info in this video unfortunately.
@Itsa_Mea yep, I wasn't able to attend the media event in person, so I could only go off of what was provided to me and RAMs website info. I apologize for that.
@@BTBRVReviews - no apologies necessary. Had you been there you would’ve been pressured to hide all the blatant shortcomings of this vehicle.
50 gal tank was new for 2020, my 2020 CCLB has one as a factory order.
I wish the Ramcharger was available in the 2500 or 3500. Be aware that the Ramcharger 1500 has a 14k towing capacity. That might be worth talking about.
I like the new transmission, the Limited and Laramie trucks look pretty good. Like that the HO is now offered in the 2500.
Disappointed still no telescopic steering wheel. Still no HUD (heads up display)option.
I still prefer the Ram head tailgate logo and the classic crosshair grills to these new Jumbo RAM badging.
It's about damn time they did something with those mirrors.
Agreed. But they are not (all that) new for ‘25
Thanks JD, this makes up for 8 minutes of looking at your Ford 😂. I am driving my 3rd Gen 5 RAM. Started with a 2019 RAM 1500 Laramie, traded that in for a 2019 RAM 2500 Limited with a 6.7 Cummings diesel because I needed more towing weight and power with my travel. Sold the trailer, so I bought a 2023 RAM Limited 1500 with the Hemi. The gas tank is too small when towing. Their interiors are the best, in my opinion. Ford does and has made a good-looking truck. Thanks again for another excellent video. Your comments are always spot on.
I just did an online build and price on a 2025 ram limited 3500 dually with the Cummings engine. And it gave me the option to upgrade to a 50 gallon tank. Although it did not tell me what the standard tank size was.
FWIW, my ‘24 3500 MegaCab has a 31 gal tank
@@stephenjardine5470 what was the cost you priced out?
@76to96 I believe it was around $96,000 I'm not currently looking to replace my truck so I pretty much looked at all the upgrades. I also did the F350 platinum wich came in about $15,000 Higher. I haven't done a GMC yet.
I believe standard is 31 or 33 gallons
I just tried a build in price and it still only had 2024 as an option. I’m in Ontario though so not sure when we can order here.
The issue I have with the new RAM is the all digital cluster, passenger digital screen, oversized center screen, and the headlights. These are all prone to burnout which will brick the truck later. I’m have a screen burned out on my stereo and Dodge cannot repair or replace it since it has been discontinued.
@@ramcharger1978 Don't get a Limited!! Not all trim levels have all that.
Ya,but i want the limited for the better seats and leather... @@Itsa_Mea
Great video JD! In just 21 minutes, you covered everything we need to know about the new Ram trucks, which is why you are a legend!
I do like these updates, I generally think it’s a good progression.
The only thing I take issue with is the Hemi loosing 5hp.
The diesel needs to come with the largest fuel tank possible a 35-40 gallon tank is what’s needed.
@ramcharger1978 the diesel 8ft bed trucks for years come with a 32 gallon standard and a 50 gallon option. That will continue. He is misinformed or he reported megacab shorted tank sizes which are restricted for obvious reasons.
Thanks for this video, JD. I special ordered my 2017 RAM 3500 SRW Limited HO Cummins / Aisin with the 3.42 gears, because it is my daily driver, as well as my tow vehicle for a 14K pounds fully loaded Montana 5th wheel. I get 19-22 mpg on the freeways here in SoCal when not towing. I keep the Aisin in 5th gear while towing unless on long level drives, and get 10-12 mpg. Being a Limited trim, the dealer told me not to exceed 16,600 pounds towing, quite a huge drop from advertised, but is fine for my 5th wheel. Being a Mega Cab, I lose the larger fuel tank, which I wish it had. Outstanding truck nonetheless, and I bought it in 2017 based mainly on your reviews at the time. 230K miles in, and it runs like the day I bought it, very well maintained by the way. I'm now 64, so I thought it might be my last truck purchase. Now I see these 2025 models, and I feel better about a potential change to a newer one if I can get the finances right with my current higher mileage truck. Your thoughts? Thanks again.
I tow a 17,000 pound fifth wheel toy hauler loaded up it’s around 19/20k . I will never touch the 40k max on my 450 but why would I want to be at my max lol. Better to have and not need then need and not have .
I tend to agree with this mentally.
Never good to run a vehicle at max ability. It’s why a vehicle may do 110mph thought it’s typicaly running hwy at 70mph
Same with load.
I live in Michigan. Alumiduty for the win. Can't deal with rust. Super Duty is in a class of its own in my opinion.
Sorry, but aluminum is still subject to corrosion. Not like steel, granted, but they do and it's most frequently under the paint.
@jeffo1108 let's roll out a 2017 HD chevy, dodge and a Ford and compare corrosion. Not even close.. Michigan winter roads eat steel. Can go back as far as the 2015 f150 for the ford. And look at body corrosion.
100%. Upstate New York i see 2021 Chevy and ram bed sides rotting out while the aluminum fords still look like new.
The frames of any truck as long as you get the coated with something like waxoyl or Krown and maintain it they last.
All brands need to quit all the “new and improved” BS. Give me a 100,000 mile bumper to bumper and 250,000 mile powertrain warranty! Then you would be taliking!
The two things that made me go forward instead of ram is the hump on the floor in the backseat and the cut out in the middle rear seat because I need all three seats in the back. I’m surprised this doesn’t matter to more people. I love that Ford has a flat floor in the back.
3.73" would be a god compromise. 3.42 is going to hamstring the truck towing in hilly terrain I suspect.
Hope the reliability is better than previous years!
FYI all 2024+ GMC HDs come standard with LED headlights. This is across all models.
That is true, however, Chevy does not. 2024 LT and below still has halogen bulbs. GMC has definitely set themselves apart a bit on both 1/2 and HD trucks with standard LEDs.
@BTBRVReviews I've always thought gmc as a premium truck brand when compared to chevy.. it seems that they always come standard with alot more options that you have to pretty much have to special order it and pay xtra for it or you just have to get a higher trim level truck to get the options that just come standard with gmc which is why i have switched to gmc like 10 years ago because I usually get my gmc's cheaper than what a comparable model chevy costs & lately I've been more attracted to gmc's grills & their overall appearance when compared to chevy.. like my gmc canyon elevation crew cab came standard 2"s higher and like 6" or 7" wider with 18" rims than what comes standard on the lower model chevy colorado's and I actually got my gmc couple grand cheaper than what the chevy was trying to sell me a way lower trim colorado for
At this point I personally believe we have reach a point the center screen sizes are too much and overkill. A 12 inch screen is perfect if I want a larger screen I would purchase one for my house. These screens control too much and when they die it will kill everything from climate control to stereo. The same goes for the cluster. Bring back the real gauges.
What about the 4500 and 5500 cab and chassis trucks? Any information on what Ram is doing with the Cummins engines in those trucks? Typically, they have always reduced the power level in those trucks, but now Ram is saying they are only offering one power level with the new Cummins engine. OK, but tell us what to expect in the cab and chassis trucks. We want the same HO option as the pickups. Not all of us 5500 owners are in a commercial environment where the truck is getting beat up by employees. I'm in the recreational environment with my 5500 and enjoy the larger frame, suspension, and brakes of the 5500. We want the higher power level in the Cummins.
When you mentioned the GVWR of the 3500 single rear wheel trucks. Its crazy they went down. I have an 18 3500 SRW HO short bed, GVWR is 11,700. The long bed trucks are 12,300. I bought the short bed truck on purpose for my business so I could be under 26k while towing a 14k trailer. The new numbers are way lower.
Glad I grabbed the 2024 mega cab a couple weeks ago. I like the looks of mine better.
You don't need leveling headlight when you have self leveling air-ride rear suspension, trucks always level no matter the load, and the ride is incredible. Better than our Tahoe Z71
looks great
My guess with the gvw numbers is the higher number like 10750. To 11500 is the hemi and cummins the higher number counters the extra weight of the cummins
RAM has been offering a 50 gal tank option for all long bed configs for some time. Can't imagine this year will be different.
Spotter mirror adjustment is nice, but if you get a higher spec, the spotter mirror gets reduced in size SUBSTANTIALLY. The base level has the full width spotter mirror though, so yes, nice to adjust, but they take up half of it with sensors rear lighting.
they did a good job with front end, it looks better and more up to date.....they just need to update the chassis/interior and get rid of the coil springs in 2500....the 10k limit is killing them for payload
the need a longer shortbed, they could just use the 1500 cab with a 6'9-7'0 bed......GM does it and think Ford as well....its kinda weird when you know what you have to do but just don't do it
headlights are gonna cut it
It's just another refresh cycle, the cab & bed are from 2009! This refresh is pretty much just the front bumper/lights/grille, and a slightly improved one power level engine and transmission. that simplifies it I guess. But I think the Superduty still outshines it.
The power train is not the same. The engine now has a different fuel system with external injectors amongst other things. The transmission is now a ZF 8spd transmission from the medium duty truck market with a granny low 1st gear that may not be utilized when unloaded giving the truck a higher fuel economy with the higher rear axle gears. This video didn't supply any real details unfortunately.
2010 cab, All new 6.7L and ZF trans is a game changer. Yes, the 4th gen cab is going to continue to be painful.
Great video. Well reviewed and non bias👍
Thanks JD 👍
Great job 👏
4 Dr lb has a 50 gallon fuel tank option. I got it on my 23 Laramie custom order
At work we have several drivers using RAM 2500/3500’s, and they are having maintenance issues. I am waiting to see if these new ones have less issues or what. 😊
I don’t think ford has anything to worry about. Cummins did some improvements but im thinking there are a few internal engine issues that seemed to not be addressed. I think the best improvement was the new tranny lineup. Finally ditching that 68 was a plus.
I have heard of some mixed opinions with the eliminating the two cummins choices. I say the problem before was that there was no option to have the high output and the better tranny on the 2500. Customers don’t want to have restrictions.
Does anyone remember the ads from the 90s when they showed that you could manipulate all the HVAC/Radio controls with gloves on? Pepridge Farms remembers.
Going to 1 engine configuration will help. In 2017 I was curious how many of the H.O./Aisins there where on my local dealer's lot. This is a dealer in the middle of horse country, where almost everyone has a diesel. I can't remember the exact total of 3500s there where on the lot, but it was around 50. There were only 3 H.O.s.
I've run across people that said they bought a Ram with the heaviest towing capability, but they bought the opposite end of the spectrum instead, a standard output with 3.42s.
I find it funny how a lot of dealerships will say anything to make the sale lol I’ve got a 2022 Ram 3500 with the Hemi. I did a build and price with the dealership and specifically said I wanted the 4:10 axle ratio because I tow 13,000lbs on weekends to go camping with the family. Dealership said “you don’t want that, it will be terrible on gas.” I reminded them that the standard 3:73 axle ratio was only rated to tow a lower amount and they had no idea what I was talking about lol it pays to do your own research and know what you want when it’s time to buy
Great review!
Where are you getting GVWR from? Both the pre-reveal builders site payload charts and the build and price show 3500 CCLB 4x4 as 11,400 SRW Gas, 12,300 SRW Diesel, 14,000 DRW (either engine). Maybe you were looking at the 3500 Chassis Cab trucks chart?
More air. That’s what the look is going for
Echo previous comment. 50 gallon fuel tank is available on the 8 foot beds on the 3500.
Old small cab, low payload ratings, but increased fuel economy… Just not in line with what most hd truck buyers are looking for imo. I pull an 11k lb 38’ travel trailer. I could not do it with a Ram if the payload numbers turn out to be that low. My 2023 F250 Tremor has a payload rating of over 3200lbs (7.3 gasser XLT). With a family of 5 plus a 100lb dog, camping gear and tongue weight I need most of that payload. Add in the larger, newer, safer Ford cab, bedside and bumper steps that are incredibly useful, and a bigger fuel tank it’s pretty clear the Ram just doesn’t compete. I always used to be a Ram fan and owned several, but once I started towing an RV their shortcomings specifically in payload forced me elsewhere. Like the grill and the power increase sounds nice, but that’s not much good if it’s not rated to handle much more than an F150.
I definitely agree with you. Ram seems to be going in the wrong direction. I’m in Ontario and ford prices are much higher than Ram. I built and ordered a 2022 Ram 3500 big horn with 6.4 Hemi, sport package, premium light group, over 4000lbs of payload, few other comfort features and taxes in I was $71,750 (Canadian). It was about $7,500-$8,000 more for a similar F-350 XLT so that’s why I went with Ram. I also like the dual climate control and LED headlights and you can’t get those on an XLT
Ram offers a 50 gallon tank for gas or diesel. You can just say you like your Ford. 😂
@ I do like my Ford, but honestly always loved my Rams. Owned 3 since 2010 one of which was a 2016 2500. Just don’t understand an hd truck with 2000lbs of payload- what’s it good for?
Tall hoods, have you ever driven a 60’s early 70’s land yacht? Back then, if you could see where the tires car ahead of you touched the ground you were far enough away in stop and go traffic. Nowadays, with low sloped hoods everyone is right on your bumper. Tall hoods are a good thing. People have lost the skill of knowing their blindspots due to tech and front end profiles.
3500 SRW also comes in a 12,300# GVWR. 50-gallon tank is available for long beds only (SRW and Dually)
Also of note are the prices. I built my 2022 RAM 3500 SRW HO in a 2025 and the 2025 MSRP was ~$6,000 less than my 2022s.
Also important to note is that this was developed without Tim K. at the helm. Now that he is back, my gut says smaller updates for 2026 and a full ground up redesign for 2027 including a new CUMMINS diesel (7.2?) for those updated emissions standards (NOx).
I got the 23 Laramie 2500 68rfe sport look night edition. Very nice truck no problems at 14k starts no problem. I am noticing this transmission is lacking when shifting. But the only way for me to trade up is hoping the 26 models the cab changes . But when I do test the 25 line up and notice the difference. Then I may trade it.
Big and fancy means it will cost more. Better get a fourth job to pay for these new trucks.
i just wanna see how hard those fuel filters r sitting back....how hard they will be to get to
The chassis cab in this video are nice.
I don’t recall Ram ever having anything other than a column shifter in the heavy duty trucks with automatic transmissions.
Curious why Ram knocked 5 hp off their rating for the hemi in 2025 models
it has a lower first gear for pulling heavy loads
GMC puts LED headlights on all of their trim levels I believe. I don't think Chevy does that however.
Correct.
I do know that the 3500 has a 50 gallon fuel tank option
PLEASE put the wide track of a 3500!!!
Ram went to the 3.42 rear end because of the new 8 speed zf transmission. As you heard tow capacities haven't changed.
The smaller fuel tanks don’t work for us who tow heavy out west where hills are longer and fuel stations are far apart.
Honestly Ram should go with a larger gas V8 or inline 6 because in trucks especially heavy duty trucks 400 hp is great but 429 lbs/ft of tourque low, I’d go with a lower revving high torque engine, I know there’s diesel for that but even gas should be set up that way because not does lower revs give more torque but they give you more reliability be the engine isn’t being as stressed. Yes you need a turbo to make power out of it but a big low revving engine with a turbo is better than a small high revving engine.
I’ve had two Ram/Dodge trucks that were gutless. To be fair one was a 2004 and the other was a 2020.
Their on line cargo and towing numbers went down when the rams frame snapped in half with the viral picture with the massive truck camper. I'm just guessing here, but I think they are going to wait until 2027 to up numbers in hp and torque.
Like to point out the campers, with their VERY long nose up to the windshield, create a severe stress problem on frames when washboard roads are encountered; the issue needs rectifying with some kind of forward gusset to the front bumper, however inelegant, and at that point, heck, make longer camper noses that approach the front of hood. This way, you have an ample bed and space for living is preserved, not to mention, the cab stays cooler, the drivers view is less likely obscured by sun or bright light.
Just spitballing about the finer points, but the frame-camper issue is really not a fault of the truck design, IMO.
I really don’t understand why Ram and GM don’t make a competing 4500 pickup
There has to be a high demand for such to push for investment. A mostly steel body would likely run into payload issues.
@@KMT15 ram was the only 5500 fully loaded truck.

Led light would be great if they made the light source replaceable, so that you're not buying the whole housing at 4 figures.
How do you feel about ram going to a 7.2l Cummins.
I disagree about the rear seat. I have three kids and the middle seat sucks in the ram. It's just tight back there. It's the reason I went to Ford. Ram needs to step it up. Even the mega cab isn't still smaller that the Ford as far as leg room and you get the tiny bed. C'mon ram. But I super happy with the super duty
Super Duty F-450 for me.
You need a new truck every year
@ funny that you say that, as I bought a brand new 2023 F-250 Lariat for $95K after tax, tags & title, in Houston Tx, drove it to Elkhart Indiana and put $12K into it to prep it for towing brand new RV’s from the manufacturers staging lots to the dealerships across the nation. Over $100K in this truck. Maintained it like a mo fo, excellent…Schaffer oil, Opti Lube fuel additive in EVERY tank, balanced and rotated every 10K miles, filters, fluids….open checkbook, spare no expense kind of maintenance, 11 months later at 125K miles 95% highway miles always way under weight, my rear differential blew up, catastrophically, complete destruction. $8K to replace. I had to let it go back to the bank. Found out if you let it go back to the bank they sell it at auction for Whatever they can get, well mine wasn’t even drivable, then you’re on the hook for the balance. I had to declare bankruptcy to get out from having a payment on a truck I didn’t even have anymore. So sad. I begged Ford to help, showed all my maintenance receipt’s, they told me fuk off. My warranty on it was 5 years or 60K miles whichever came first. Here’s the kicker, the first manufacturer recommended diff oil change was at 130k miles, I was 5K miles from getting the fluid changed in that diff….. really crazy thing is I know other drivers personally that have well over half a million miles on Ford 6.7 PSD’s with the new 10 spd trans that tow RV’s for a living and haven’t had a single issue, not one. Just regular maintenance. One guy has a 2017 F-350 with like 1.2 million on it…. Original CP-4 pump…
Dodge is not going to kill FORD. Never has, never will!
Let me know when Dodge and GM build their own diesels.
Did ram detune the 6.4 old number was higher than 405. I think it was 410 or 415 hp
Why doesn't Ram have a short and long bed pickup option for the 4500 & 5500 HD truck? Are they trying to push you to Ford?
Anyways, more about GM and Ford please. Thanks!👍👍
they said i wouldn't download a car... but i downloaded ram yesterday!
Need smaller screens and more physical buttons
Still same old truck. Superduty w Godzilla for me
Nice🇸🇦
Anyone know where this video was filmed ? Beautiful mountains
What about the 4500 and 5500
My biggest concern with this refresh is Dodge advertising they can now push OTA updates to the new Cummins engine. Straight to the ECU. They could brick your engine if you have a tune, or detune it if there is another emissions scandal. Big yikes.
Hey JD just wanted your opinion on towing the brinkley 2680 5th wheel with a 2022 ram 2500 6.4 gasser. Wanting to switch to a 5th wheel but I really love my 2022 ram. Because brinkley 5th wheels are so much heavier than other brands I just don't want to lose money on an upgraded truck. 1st timer on pulling a 5er. What's your thoughts, can it pull safely and easily with the gasser. 13,995 gvw for the brinkley model that we fell in love with. What's your thoughts or opinions. Love your channel and thanks again for any input you can give me.
Your truck will struggle to pull a fifth wheel, especially out west, in the mountains.
I know this is not a 1500 video, but, does anyone have any insight on whether the Hemi will be available again? I'm in the market for a 1/2 ton truck. I love the RAM 1500, but I don't want a turbo 6.
So the 2500’s have the same payload as the 1500’s? Not a good choice.
Sorry JD but you dropped the ball here bigtime and never mentioned why Ram is able to go to a higher rear axle ratio because of the now available 8 Spd ZF medium duty transmission with the granny low 1st gear when needed. When unloaded, it will start out in 2nd to improve fuel economy. The engine is newly designed including fuel system with external injectors and improved emissions system. Fuel tank for years on a 3500 diesel longbed has been 32 gallon with 50 gallon option. That i believe will remain. The smaller tank refers to the shortbed trucks or mega cab.
Your Ford bias outshined again. This is my interpretation of your video.
Brother, did you feel I showed bias in this video? I honestly like RAM HD trucks. I feel they are an absolutely great truck.
@BTBRVReviews I mean, you failed to talk about the most anticipated change of an HD Ram Cummins powered truck...... the transmission! The transmission is why they are able to go to a higher ratio rear axle due to the extra low 1st gear the ZF has, which the TCM can skip and start in 2nd gear when unloaded. Also there's alot of engine changes not mentioned. All that most people got from this video was "new ram is same old truck with a facelift" and that totally is not the case. Did you watch the TFL video for example. Alot more in depth and unbiased in my opinion.
I guess let's see what other folks say in your comments but the truck to me has alot more to offer than discussed. Not bashing you JD, it just came across to me, (and others based on some comments I've read so far). People were given the impression, same old truck.
So Ford has F-250's rated at 11100 payload and GM has 3/4's rated at 11500 payload and Rams 3500 SRW's are 10750 and 11500? Why would Ram do this? Towing 20000 pounds means nothing if the truck is not rated to carry the pin weight and all the cargo. The only Ram worth buying is a Dually. Very surprising Ram did this.
Ok, I have questions... Does it have a telescoping steering wheel? My Power Wagon did not which is ridiculous. (It also had a clicking noise coming from the column) Also, why can't they offer the Power Wagon (and the Rebel HD) with 35" tires and appropriate gearing or at least the option for 35s? The Ford Tremor has 35s stock. Come on, Ram! Oh, also the short bed 2500s need bigger fuel tanks!!
I think Stellantis is in panic mode. They have alienated their core customers by raising their msrp's, way too high. This is a very conservative refresh.
I’m just not a fan of 3.42 gears in a truck that is built for towing. The sweet spot for the Cummins is 1800-1850 RPMs when towing at 70 MPH. 3.73 gears give you that. With 3.42 gears you will be constantly searching for gears every time you hit an incline. You would think Ram learned their lesson the first time they tried 3.42 gears. Come on Ram, pay attention to what people are asking for.
Is Ram 2500, 3500, 5500 like Ford 250, 350, 550 ?
Will the 4500 and 5500 also get the aluminum head?
There's no aluminum head. It's new, but the head is cast iron.
@ the head is clearly aluminum. You can tell by the silvery shine in the videos that show the new engine.
@@theoriginalrjt21 rtj, I re-watched the video and it looks like the head is painted black which would indicate cast-iron with an unpainted aluminum lower valve cover. But a Ram master tech with YT channel TrukStuff says the head is aluminum? I posted the question on his video. I'll update my comment once he replies. I hope you are right. I would like to buy a used one of these in a couple of years.
@@jackprick9797 It's cast iron. I have engine pics from a test mule and it's clearly rusted in spots. The valve cover riser and cover is aluminum. The intake is aluminum. Take my word, I've got inside info on these since September.
i guess the rumor that Ram trucks were going to be discontinued due to the brand loosing money are not true! unless this is a last ditch effort?
Gen 4.75?
They really need to address the payload capacity. A 2500 payload is terrible.
If you are going to tow a 5th Wheeler then you better get the long bed.
There a few good things, but not enough to make me want to buy one.
Gotta be rich to afford these trucks.
Still has the small ass cab. You cant even look out the front window as the rear view mirror sits right in front if your view. Unfortunately, i cant even consider buying due to this.
@@titantitan8750 how tall are you? I’m 6’8 and it doesn’t bother me at all. And I have manual seats so I cant lower them down like a power seat.
Still can't beat a ford in anything from towing to mpg or housrepower
